I love brown bags, small or big. and maybe it's because I grew up with this particular store, but it's my favorite on the planet. manhattan is too crazy, SF is trying to hard, but tysons is just right. reasonably large selection, excellent parking, and friendly and helpful salestaff. read more

The Customer Service on the 3rd floor, small appliances department, is very poor and unfriendly. I experienced poor service on two separate occasions, weeks apart, by two different female assciates, so it wasn't a fluke. Bloomie's in Tyson's Corner is becoming my new Nordstrom's, which used have helpful staff but not so much anymore. Almost everything I needed for an upcoming wedding I bought at Bloomie's. The saleswoman in the dress department, the salespeople in mens' suits, the people in jewelry -- were all so helpful. In cosmetics, I was making sure that my make-up went with my outfits; I was assured it did and they didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. This has become my go-to store at Tyson's. read more

Hardly any employees, and the ones they have are rude. The women's clothing section in particular looks like the Target clearance rack--cheap and messy. I expect that at Target and am fine with it. I don't expect that at what used to be a higher-end store. read more

This review is for the Gucci shop located inside of Bloomingdales. After a long week, I literally looked like I just rolled out of bed and was carrying my worn out totes bag when I spotted a nice bag on display. The sales associate nevertheless was very helpful and friendly, not judging the way I looked. She helped me narrow down on which purses were better for me and it wasn't the highest priced one either. I also purchased a wallet but had to return it the next day because the credit card slots were simply not wide enough for the cards- you had to push and pull with extra effort to get your cards. I would've kept it had it been more functional. The return was quick and easy. I didn't think I was going to buy a bag or anything for myself while holiday shopping for others but my experience at the Gucci shop was nice. read more

Decent selection here. They are a little slow to serve you, but when they do it really kicks in. I recently bought a Hugo Boss suit from here. I worked with the salesperson to get the fit just right. I told them I needed it on short notice for an upcoming wedding. The tailor came quickly and the suit was ready for wear within a few days. Other than that, they are a little pushy with credit card offers, but so are all other department stores. read more

Went to Louis Vuitton inside Bloomingdales for my moms birthday to treat her to something nice. She was very excited and when we walked in, the sales associate was so condescending! He asked what we were looking for and my mom said a crossbody but didn't know specifically so wanted help picking one out. The man scoffed at her and said "we have thousands of bags" that's awesome your job is to help us find one. My mom said okay and described what she was looking for a bit more. He again said "we have about 60 bags with that description" again isn't it his job to help us find one?? Especially when we are the only ones in the store? My mom pulled out her phone and showed him one she liked "that was discontinued like 4 years ago" he said and didn't help us find something similar. I know from being a sales associate in the past your job is to service the customer and if you are working at an expensive designer store you should definitely be going above and beyond to help someone out. We ended up leaving and going to Gucci where we bought my mom an great gift. Will definitely tell others who are thinking of going here about our experience. read more

I used to love Bloomies when I experienced the wonderful selections and positive customer service a NY store. But recently I visited at Tyson's location, I heard Sales people were having argument loud against each other over the sales a front of customers. And I was asked (at least) 4 sales people if they can set up fitting room for me while I was browsing on the floor. Very aggressive sales practice by sales people. Large high end department store with mini high boutique shops within their store. My favorite lugguage is Rimowa and Briggs & Riley. They are hard to find. But you can find them in here. I was happy to see that, but was disappointed in the limited stock they had on hand. I'm not sure how I feel about this Bloomingdale's. It's not nearly as organized as most, and some areas in the contemporary department (especially the sale racks) look like an upscale Ross. However, I keep coming back because I stumble upon really good deals in those sale sections :) Seems like they don't update the price tags that often, so remember to scan them on the lil' price checkers! I've gotten Theory items that were marked down from $300 to $170, and ended up being $40 when I scanned them. Okay, so maybe that only happened once... but still! read more

Was at the cosmetics corner to pick up a product I needed to replenish. They had a promotion today where makeup artists were visiting, and they insisted I get a make over. After I was done, I thanked them, and asked to ring up the product I was here for. The make up artist was so shocked asked me " You don't want to buy ANYTHING that I put on you today?" I said "No, I'm not here to purchase anything else other than the foundation, which I am about to purchase. Thank you for today" When I said this, she was rolling her eyes, pouting,, omg,, seriously?? Then she said "Well I'm here for one day and I'm leaving.. so...are you sure you don't want to buy anything?" and I had to say "I'm sorry, I don't buy skin care products after trying them once. I'll consider it next time I need something. Thanks again"..... What kind of sales tactics are you guys teaching???? I felt sorry for that lady, but don't pressure people to purchase things. Wonderful selection of clothing & accessories. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Parking was not as great but it was fine. As much as I enjoyed my experience, I do prefer other department stores a little more so. I will definitely return but not as often as other places. read more

I am a woman approaching 60. I made an appointment with the "At your service" department for help in finding a dress for a wedding. I explained the type of wedding it was, that I didn't want sleeveless or short-sleeved, size range 16-18-1x, colors, etc. When I arrived, I was helped by "Effie," a woman about my age, maybe a little younger, well-put together, attractive. After looking over the clothes they had picked out for me (most of which were not in my size range), I commented that I had said I didn't want short or sleeveless because I was self-conscious about my upper arms. Sorry Bloomingdale's, try again. My experience was not the best. The bathrooms were disgusting and dirty...worse the most Porta potty's. And there is no excuse for that. I'm writing here because no one at Bloomingdales seems to care of helping me get my order correct. I purchased an order on the 9th with an express shipping payment of 20 extra dollars. Out of the blue it was canceled on the 13th midnight. I called on the 14th and the sales associate claimed it was a mistake and reordered it for me. Then it was canceled again the 14th afternoon. I called again and another sales associate reordered and promised that we will receive it before Friday the 17th. So I called around 6 or 7 pm on the 16th to make sure my purchase will be shipped out and I will receive it. The rep on the line was really rude but she guaranteed that I will receive the purchase. To my surprise this morning of the 17th I received an email stating the merchandise is no longer available. This is ridiculous because the cloth is still for sale on the website. The problem now is I don't have any time to order from another place because I'm leaving on a trip and was hoping to wear this at a family wedding. Bloomingdales has screwed me over big time. How can people trust your online system and customer service reps on the phone if you are that irresponsible about people's orders. read more

Why, oh why is it so hard to find a Bloomingdale's in this market that resembles the New York Metro Area stores. Even with an extensive renovation, it is still a second rate store in every way. It lacks anything and everything that makes Bloomingdale's, well, Bloomingdale's. The sales associates have drastically improved, with the exception of LV and Gucci. These two departments are leased, but the help is so extremely rude and condescending that it makes one wonder why would one want to shop either boutique. And the managers for those boutiques are even worse than the associates. The only bright spot is the staff in Customer Service/Gift Wrap...they are a stand out. read more

I've had two extremely disappointing experiences at this store. I was so excited when Bloomingdale's announced the new in-store Hobbs' boutique. I went as soon as I could, but had trouble finding the collection. I approached the only employee I could find in the women's section and asked for help. Not only was she short with me, but she didn't even look up from her keyboard. She pointed in a general direction and said 'over there'. Are you kidding me? I checked it out briefly, but I was too pissed to shop at that point. I left with nothing. The second time was a few weeks ago when I visited the mall for another purpose. I happened to pass through Bloomie's and noticed that some of the Hobbs' stuff was on sale. There were two somewhat attentive employees in the boutique.On a side note, there were racks with sale signs, but most items weren't marked with sale prices. I asked why and was told only some prices had been marked and those that were not could be checked. It drives me nuts when sale items are not marked. Why mark some and not others. Anyway, I wound up finding a dress to buy an took it to the register. I didn't have my points card on me and asked if it could be looked up in the system, but was ignored. She gave me the total and I swiped my credit card while asking again about looking up my points card. She finally acknowledged what I asked and told me I would have to go to customer service to do that. Totally not true! Her colleague informed her as such and instructed her how to find my points card. She seemed annoyed like i was bothering her. The whole dynamic was very strange. A few minutes before this, her colleague, another one who wouldn't look up from her keyboard, had had a tense conversation with a customer wanting a size they did not have. The customer was told that the size could be usually be ordered from another store, but not that day because the manager was on vacation. She then tried to tell the customer to call the stores herself. The customer was not having it and left thoroughly angry. Overall, customer service is a huge problem in this store and judging from the other reviews here, I am not the only one who thinks so. read more

I asked several people where I could find a belt in the women's clothes area tonight. I simply needed one to wear with jeans. First two customer service people I came across said they only deal with their section and went to get a third. The third acted annoyed to have to deal with a customer and said, "We do not have a belt section." I said okay, do you sell belts? Well, maybe like in individual dresses or something, but no. She was very rude, unhelpful and I went to Bloomingdale's section online tonight, 223 belts. I'm a regular upper middle class woman with a child too. I love this store! I like to get my theory suits here because they always have my size and also get discounts on special promotion days. This location also has great salespeople. I don't wander around too long before someone actually approaches me to offer their assistance. It's nice because, this normally only happens when I go to smaller boutiques, and not in department stores. It's also easy to purchase items they don't have on hand. I wanted a particular kate spade handbag that wasn't at the store, so the sales lady put the order through her register and I received it in the mail within the week. Also, with all the other stores in the mall to go to afterwards, I don't mind making the trek all the way to Virginia. read more

Customer service is a joke. Tried to buy a Clinique product and was told they were out. They offered to order it for me free of charge and have it shipped to my house. Great! I told the lady behind the counter I was completely out and needed the item asap. She assured me I would have the item within 4 days. When I got home however I checked my email and was informed I wouldn't have the product until 10 days from now. Wow! Really? I called customer service and was told they couldn't cancel my order since it had been more than 30 min; even though they weren't shipping my package until 4 days from now. He helped me find the perfect pair of jeans and then he showed me some shirts and shoes that look good with the jeans. I saved 25% on my purchase and an extra 20% off by signing up for a credit card. How disappointing that a company representing luxury brands is so second rate in service. This store is dismal in appearance and the service is hit or miss. In some sections, LK Bennett, the service is fantastic. In others, I'm left to wander through an empty store with locked fitting rooms. I understand the reason for locking them, but since I've bothered to amass and carry my clothes from one side to the next, maybe someone could unlock one for me? Apparently, I didn't look like I was worth assisting since my attempts to flag down an employee resulted in their fast exit from my presence. Sad. It was just sad. So then I tried to switch to online ordering, but the mismanagement of their ordering system led to two cancelled orders. Did not believe that I would ever meet a manager who is that rude who tells me with a closed face what I should do and what I should not. For my needs, the men's floor at this Bloomingdale's is by far the best of any area department store. There is a stellar array of brands, and the staff truly go above and beyond. The Polo Ralph Lauren shop is large enough that it might as well be a separate store. Polo at Bloomingdale's carries a lot of higher-end items that I cannot find at Macy's or Lord & Taylor. Vineyard Vines has a nice presence here, too. As others have noted, the shoe department is somewhat lacking, but this has not been an issue for me. Plus, Nordstrom is right next door. read more
