First, the hair salon's location is not visible if it is your first time visiting. The business is located in between stores and you have to go down these stairs to get to the establishment. In other words, the hair salon is not on street level. Secondly, I dislike when hair dressers tell you what you need to do to your hair just to sell you more products or to believe your hair is not healthy. I personally think if you take care of your hair you should know what is your hair type and the condition it is in. It is obvious (unless you are careless) to know the condition your hair is in. Long story short, I go in for a wash and set and the hairdresser is telling me my hair is shedding (people shed hair everyday and does not mean your hair is unhealthy. It just means dead hair is coming out), then she tells me I should get extensions (no thank you rather have my hair natural) and I should not use oil products, because oils is not good for the hair Really? I never heard anything like this before. Didn't know oil breaks your hair for that matter. That conversation alone was a red flag. Third, the place was not the cleanest. They do have a nail salon within the same establishment which isn't the most hygienic thing to do. My hair dryer was on a pedicure chair and my foot was inside the pedicure tub while drying my hair. Disgusting. I won't ever be getting my feet done there. The floors were dirty, the entrance to the store was dirty, they had these curtains that looked like they needed to be washed, the place appeared like it needed to be sweep and mopped. I just didn't feel comfortable there. Don't get me wrong the ladies were nice, but won't be returning back. Last, this hair salon does not have a price menu anywhere visible. They will just tell you after you are done what the price is. Every establishment that offers services should have a price menu. My advice to this establishment is: Have a price menu visible for the customers. Do not make your customers wait. Nobody wants to be at a hair salon all day. Try not to tell customers what they need to do on their hair or enforce it. Be honest and I don't mean honest just to sell products to benefit you. Last, keep your location clean.

In November my daughter and I got updos. my daughter had clip on extensions put in and they curled them and put her tiara in for her sweet 16 party. I had a beautiful updo and Swirsky Crystal pins I brought in put in my hair. I was charged $140 for both in November and today I came back and had the exact thing done to my hair and my daughters hair again because we needed to do portrait shots but this time I was charged $184.00 When I told her I didn't pay that much last time she told me that basically I was wrong it was impossible that I didn't pay this much so I pulled up the invoice from my phone and showed her and she said well then you got your hair done for free because that's not what we charge. I definitely felt played and taken advantage of. Then another hairdresser was doing a Brazilian and she left the door of the salon wide open and it was 20° out. when I went to close it she came up and rudely told me "keep that door open" I'm doing a Brazilian and it smells. She then proceeded to continue to complain to the owner that it was too much of a hassle to do Brazilians and blah blah blah. Being charged $45 more I felt really taken advantage of and considering I've known the owner for 12 years I felt really bad. Her sign says updos were $65 and up I was charge $70 for an updo in November and this time she charged me close to 100 and charged my daughter 90 and told her she was giving us a better deal that it would cost 100 to do my daughters hair normally. I won't be coming back anymore and it's really unfortunate. But I'm sure they don't care who doesn't come back.

No greeting, no welcome. I told them I had an appointment with Dana. They told me to go on the back to get my hair washed. Afterwards i asked who was Dana and once she was done helping her previous client she had me sit. I showed her what haircut I wanted (see attachments - the blonde hair back haircut I wanted) and that I wanted front layers to start from my chin. I made it specific and showed her pictures that I wanted layers on the back also. And she said she would got it and would cut it. But she did not follow the instructions I gave her nor according to the pictures I shown her of the haircut I wanted. She got the length right, and she gave some layers at the front but she didn't give me any layers on the back. By the time she finished blowdrying and cutting my hair, I was their last customer, it was like 3:30pm. Seemed like they were closing. She didn't put any hair products on my hair, nor style it in any way. Just cut and blow dry. She asked once if I want any product, and I said it's fine but after checking my hair, I felt the hair looked dried and I would have liked it if she put some more efforts to it. I have beautiful, long, healthy hair. I wanted a mid length haircut, below my shoulders, with layers at the front and back. She didn't even hold a mirror to show me the back of the hair to show what cut she gave me. The whole time she was cutting my hair, she kept me looking away from the mirror, not facing the mirror. So I couldn't even see what haircut she was giving me. I was happy with the length of the layers on the front, and also I needed to put back my hijab and leave because they were closing, so I didn't get to check carefully if she actually gave me what I asked for. After I came home, I checked my hair again and noticed that there were no layers on the back! Like what the heck!! I was so disappointed! I was so excited to get my haircut with Dana since she is the salon owner and thought she would able to give me a beautiful new haircut but after recalling the whole experience and seeing that she didn't listen to me nor follow my instructions to give me the haircut I wanted, I feel so disheartened and disappointed. I paid her and tipped her even though she put little to no effort in giving me good service and experience. I was going to call back on Sunday but it seems like they are closed on Sunday and Monday also, due to holiday. Did she think it won't matter if she doesn't follow my instructions and doesn't give me the haircut I asked for because I cover up my hair outside?! (Wear hijab) just because I wear hijab and cover my hair, doesn't mean I don't care what kind haircut I get. I am paying for it! It is very important to me that I get the right haircut and the stylist listen to me and follows my instructions, Not do whatever she wishes! If you don't know how to give haircut according to what your customer shows you, at least be upfront and say it from the straight. I previously went here for a haircut with Daven in 2022 and she was much nicer and did a better job at listening to me and cutting my hair. But this time I went with Dana because I thought she would be more experienced and give me exactly what I asked for. I am really disappointed. Definitely won't be going back and don't recommend, especially not Dana! Every time I look at my hair, I feel so upset. I wish I paid with credit card so I could have disputed the charge.
