Today, I went to Great Clips and it no longer looks terrible. The salon is right by the Hoboken PATH train station. I'm sure Pam will be fine.

I've been seeing Emmi for over 3 years, during which she's helped me live out all my hair dreams. Emmi has transformed my hair from short ash blonde and seamless balayages, to healthy, long hair (blonde Christine from 5 years ago never could have fathomed this). I low-key wish I wasn't going for a more natural vibe, so that I'd have an excuse to see Emmi more often. I can't rave about Emmi enough. Aside from being an amazing colorist and stylist, she's incredibly professional, down-to-earth, and fun to spend time with. She's everything you love about the West Coast, packaged into the perfect stylist in the best city in the world. Emmi and My Darling Ivy are also taking extra precautions due to Covid. They tested a strain on my hair and it turned out red, and said that I wouldn't be able to go ash blonde. Super grateful that they did a test but very sad that I was unable to do the color that I want. They did offer me to do like an ash brown, but that wasn't what I wanted unfortunately. They told me I could wait for it to grow out and then they can't fix it up and do the color that I want. I will definitely be revisiting the salon since the service is so good and they are so kind.

Since it was my first visit, they created my account on the spot and made the whole process smooth. I went for a layered haircut to shorten my hair a bit. I showed the stylist a reference picture, and she completely understood the look I wanted. The session started with a nice hair wash, followed by the cut and blow-dry. The stylist did a great job -- my hair feels light, fresh, and styled just how I envisioned. They also offered tea, coffee, or other drinks as a kind gesture, which I really appreciated. The entire service took about 45 minutes on a Sunday, and I walked out happy with the result. The total cost came to $99 including tax, which felt a bit pricey to me for a haircut. However, the experience and quality were good enough that I'd consider going back -- hopefully when they have some offers for their regular clients!

White Hart first attracted me because of James. I used to visit James when he was at Sally Hershberger for cuts and keratin, but then when he moved over to a different salon, I stopped going to see him (not because of James, but rather because I found the front desk staff and assistants very rude there and it was impossible to get an appointment). When I heard that James had opened his own salon, I was thrilled. I was able to book an appointment with ease through their easy to use system. White Hart is conveniently located in on 22nd off the A,C,E 23rd street stop. The salon is in the basement but well marked so easy to find and because it isnt right on the street, I found the salon to be quiet - it almost felt a little spa like. Another bonus is that they use R&Co products which I love and unlike some keratin products, the keratin they put on my hair could be washed that same day (although I waited 24 hours). The salon has great sonos speakers and since I was the first appointment of the day, James let me choose the playlist. The best part is that there is a little garden so when I was done with my appointment, I sat outside and finished my coffee and sent some emails. It has been a week and I am very happy with my keratin and cut and have received several compliments. I plan to come back for keratin and also blowouts and cuts.

Price point was a deciding factor. Came back again this spring. This time around for cut only. First time everything went well. Got my hair cut last (second visit) time. And the stylist left an ear lock behind my ear. He trimmed behind on ear, and probably forgot to trim it behind another ear. I wear my hair very short with sharp edges. I have to say I am SHOCKED by the negative reviews. I first came to Toni & Guy on a Living Social deal a few years ago thinking it'd be a one time deal and I was sold. I had Peter who gave me one of the best haircuts of my life. I have been going back there ever since and have no issues there (which was great because for 4 years I continued to go into NYC for my haircuts which was a pain). Whitney is also a top notch stylist. Recently, I've seen Rachel a few times and as one of the more junior stylists she is great as well. I find the salon to be very high end with great customer service. Remember- hair stylist are not magician's...while they can HELP you achieve your look, you also have to know what you want and what you like (that goes for anywhere). I've never had to wait long, have been helped promptly and have never had any issues with my appointments. The staff is efficient, courteous ad friendly. They make good suggestions for hair products to use for you hair type and always listen to what I want in my haircut. Choosing a hair stylist is like choosing a doctor- not everyone is going to work out with each person...you have to look for someone who you are compatible with and understands your style (ditto for make up artists). I would definitely recommend this salon to anyone. The prices might seem high for the top tier stylists but I used to pay $80 at a low level chain salon in NYC so it's really a bargain if you consider that. I find the prices to be right on par with what I would expect a mid/high level salon to charge and the customer service to be above what you would expect. read more

A friend told me about this salon opening in Hoboken, and I was pleasantly surprised, as I had a good impression of this company from its ads in my favorite British fashion magazines. I learned that in the U.S. they are quite big, with many training schools and the main office in Dallas. I have had my hair cut four times over the past year and a half by Whitney Blischke, the company's National Editorial Director. I loved all the cuts, and I found that the styling products she suggested I actually use. Her cuts are so good that I joke with her that they last way longer than she probably wants them to! She does a fringe (bangs) trim between cuts to keep the style neat. I have straight uncolored hair with an awkward cowlick in the back and she always cuts it with that cowlick in mind. I am not especially adept at styling my hair, so I rely on a great cut to look my best. The salon is a bright, modern, and friendly place, and the staff is professional and efficient. There is a program for earning points for styling products, and if you don't like a product you can return it for another, a customer service feature I have never encountered at any other salon. There are many places to get a haircut in Hoboken as any resident will tell you, and as an 18 year resident I have tried many of them. Toni and Guy is my favorite by far and I recommend them without reservation. read more

First off, I have never written a review on yelp before but my experience at Toni & Guy needs one. I went in hoping for a balayage and came out with orange and pink hair. I scheduled an appointment with one of their mid-level colorists to get a balayage for summer. To start, I was told my haircut was not good for a balayage and I was better off doing an ombre. I agreed, thinking that a colorist MUST know better than I would. Long story short, my hair was a wreck afterwards. My colorist told me that the color would wash out in the next 2-3 washes, so I went home and washed my hair 4 times with color-safe shampoo and no luck - my hair was still orange with pink tones. When I returned the next morning at open to get my hair fixed, I was told to come back at noon. When I arrived at noon, the new colorist (who did end up fixing the mistake) was frazzled because the front desk had only booked me for 30 minutes and I clearly needed more time. In her efforts to fix my hair while dealing with other clients, I couldn't help but think what a terrible experience this was in general. Weeks later now, I've had to pay for a deep conditioning at another salon since my hair was so dead from being colored twice in 24 hours and have to get a toner every 3 weeks to keep the orange from coming back. I will never go back to this salon. read more

Great experience I actually live in New Jersey but originally from London, I used to go to Toni n guy in London and was very happy with my hairstyle. Since I moved to US I had a hard time in finding a best hairdresser around. I tried Toni n guy first back in sep 2015 but didn't like it comparing to the salons in London... so I did some research And went to try Fleischman, A Men's Salon at New York City... unfortunately it wasn't a good experience in fact it was an expensive experience with worst outcome... knowing Toni n guy quality and customer service I wanted to give it one more try so started looking for reviews found that Enzo is an exceptional hair dresser working at Hoboken... tried to get an appointment with Enzo since being very popular he has a busy schedule so I didn't get an appointment with him... I booked with Megan and she was really good.. I started coming back to Toni n guy... then one week I found Enzo was free on Friday and normally fridays are my day off.... without thinking twice I booked an appointment with Enzo and I am so glad I did that he is an amazing Hairdresser with lots of experience...He is the best Hairdresser I have ever had services from...He knows exactly what I want and I am so happy with my haircut Thank you! read more

EXCELLENT!!! I can't thank Whitney and Alex enough for the A-mazing cut and color I received yesterday! I had been going to another salon in Hoboken for years, who will remain nameless..and they ruined my hair the last time I was in there for color. My friend had told me I had to go here for them to fix it and that they were fabulous! She was 100 % right..they totally new exactly what I needed to fix my hair. I like that they were able to tell me what I needed and how to achieve the look I was going for while we concentrated on getting my hair healthy again. Alex did my color and Whitney did my cut and they are both so talented at what they do, true artists and experts in their field! I also found that they go above and beyond with their customer service to make you feel comfortable and happy. Also if you need a killer blow out, go to Richie, he is a rock star at blowing out frizzy curly hair like mine. Love him! With this being said you must go to Toni & Guy and if you go I highly recommend Whitney, Alex and Richie! You will loveee! I will only let them touch my hair from now on! Is it possible to give Toni and Guy a 6th star? I can honestly say that my experience at this salon was one that I feel the need to "go on and on" about. I have been growing my hair out for a while now and was nervous to have it cut but it needed it desperately. Somehow, I was able to score an appointment with Enzo, the owner of the salon, which I was really excited about. He made me feel comfortable from the second I walked in until I left with a bag full of products that I could NOT resist. He took one look at my hair and confidently said, "I have the perfect haircut for you." I made it clear that my one concern was keeping the length of my hair and he went above and beyond my expectations. Not only did he keep the length but cut off all the dead ends, shaped my hair and gave me shaggy "70's style" bangs. Hands down one of the best cuts I have experienced! The staff was super nice and accommodating and offered me wine, coffee etc. The salon is so crisp and clean looking with a chill vibe where anyone is welcome. I cannot give Kelsey more compliments than I already do, but here we go! I actually am afraid to write this because I know it will make it even harder to book with her - but when you love someone this much, you do what needs to be done. First, Kelsey is extremely talented. She listens to what I want and explains what is possible based on where my color is at the moment. She knows exactly what I'm looking for, and always makes me look my best. I love her focus and attention to detail when it comes to my hair, but more importantly her friendliness and customer service are what keep me sitting in her chair. Being "on" all the time, especially in a customer service position, is draining (from experience) but I have never seen Kelsey at anything less than 100% - she's an absolute ROCKSTAR. I've had Kelsey do my hair for the past 3-4 years and I genuinely can say that from day 1, I knew I'd stick with her for life. I was tired of a haircut that everyone in town seems to have. Bored with my look, I finally decided that I would pay more for quality and stop being a cheap ass. I made an appointment to see Whitney. She's the art director there so a little more $$, but talk about a quality cut! She is extremely attentive and meticulous. She understood I wanted a look a little more daring (for me) and did just that, made my hair look FAB! She also showed me exactly how to do the look myself, and I've tried her tips so my hair is still looking pretty close to how she styled it. You can tell she's a hair educator as well and is very good at her craft. Whitney is worth going to. I was amazed! Seriously awesome. I recommend her for anyone who wants a more original haircut. I think you probably can't go wrong with anyone there. Every customer that left the salon looked great. I just had the worst haircut of my life at this salon. I was extremely disappointed and perplexed as the reviews of the salon were all overwhelmingly positive, and the price points lends itself to high quality. I asked for a trim with minimal layers. I had recently grown out terribly blunt layers from a previous bad experience and prefaced the appointment with that fact. I stated that I was hesitant about layers due to the incident I had experienced. The woman, Ali, proceeded to give me the bluntest and most poorly executed haircut I have ever received. She added "angling" around my face that was in fact just rough chops that are wholly mismatched from the remaining length of my hair and do not blend at all. I will never revisit this salon and am so disappointed in the terrible quality of the cut. I will now spend 3-4 months growing out these awful layers and will be embarrassed to wear my hair down. read more

We all know finding the right hair salon is key, but finding top hairdressers on top of that can be a challenge in itself! Not with Toni and Guy. Everytime I've gone into this salon, the staff are extremely welcoming and genuinely happy to provide you the best service they can. Deana does amazing color (just look at her own!) and Heather cuts with a true passion for her craft. Not to mention, both have personalities to boot which make the experience there even better. This is a place where they truly care about doing a great job- classy people with great talent. With more than enough salons in the area competing for similar customers, Toni and Guy truly gets what it's all about- great customer service, stellar hair styling and consultation, and true professionals who care about providing the best look to meet your needs. I love Toni & Guy. It's just that simple. When I made my first appointment I told the receptionist that I have short hair and that I would like an appointment with somebody who is good with it. They put me with Enzo (currently a Creative Director) who turned out to be something of a short hair guru; he did not disappoint. He gave me a haircut which was both sophistaced and funky while paying meticulous attention to minor details. I have been going there regularly because he isn't afraid to take initiative and never seems to lack creative ideas. Ritchie is pretty rad too; he cuts my wife's hair, which is long. She loves it every time. The other staff is cool yet professional. They don't ramble on nonsensically over sharing their personal issues like divorce and alimony payments like many hair professionals do. Oh, and the cappuccino is pretty good. Deena has been doing my highlights for the past two years that I've lived in New York and she has done a really good job on my hair (which isn't the easiest as it has a tendency to try to be as red as possible!) When I first arrived, my hair was a very warm color, but Deena corrected this and now it is just so much better. Apart from anything else I really enjoy the time I spend chatting to her - she is super lovely, and she is always very keen to protect my hair as much as possible. I live in Manhattan but it's super easy to get across to the salon and I look forward to my escape from the hustle and bustle each time! (There's an amazing view of Manhattan just around the corner from the salon, and I highly recommend grabbing a coffee/frozen yogurt and having a stroll down the waterfront while you're in the area.) read more

Service with a smile. I noticed there are a lot of comments about the poor service. I have to say I've had exactly the opposite experience every single time I've visited the saloon and that's from the first month it's opened. I love the vibe, style and music. Everyone is friendly and focused on their clients. Whether it's a cut, color or blow out - I'm always sure it will be a great experience. They take my coat, help to put on my robe, offer tea or cappuccino (of which I always take one), bring over a few new magazines and we discuss what I'm looking for then comfortably chat. I never feel rushed. I also have to give a shout out to Rose who has washed my hair twice now. LOVE the scalp massage I get with the washand the water temperature is always perfect. This place is fantastic! I have been getting my hair cut by Heather and she is amazing. It always looks stunning and the cut grows out great so i don't feel like I have to go back as often. She is so sweet and professional. I get color done with Kelly and again it's amazing. She is so good at giving my hair depth and levels. And when i wanted a change she knew the colors that would complement me but give me the wow factor I wanted. I get so many compliments on my hair, which never used to happen so I give them the credit! They really take their time and genuinely want you to love your look. She gave my daughter, who has curly hair, but was starting to lose her curl because of the length of her hair the best haircut bringing her curls back without losing her length! This was the first time (May2021) I tried Tony and Guy (Hoboken) for my hair cut. I did read the reviews before going but it's such a big deal to try out a new place. I never write reviews, but I needed to write one for Brooke B. at Bond (formerly Toni & Guy). I cannot recommend her enough!! I have, long, thick, wavy Cuban hair and a lot of it. Brooke is one of the only stylists I have ever seen that does not complain and actually embraces my hair texture and knows how to work with it. When it comes to color, Brooke is spot-on. I asked for nuanced changes in my tone for a super natural/healthy-looking and dimensional dark brown, and Brooke delivered exactly what I envisioned. I have recently become a Toni&Guy customer but I am beyond in love with this amazing salon. I have not dyed my hair in over 10 years and decided, with a help of a friend, to have the ombre done. I moved to Hoboken not long ago and needed a haircut and some highlights. The place is just awesome. People are so nice and friendly. I had my haircut with Ritchie and he did an amazing job. It is so easy to fix my hair in the morning, I'm not the kind of a girl that will blow dry her hair for an hour in the morning and he just used my natural looking hair to get the best results. Dena did my highlights and also did a great job. Also, I come from Israel and at the salon in Israel they give the best hair wash, they do a massage and such, in tony and guy they did the same which is a first in an American hair salon. Went to Toni and Guy salon in Hoboken last weekend. I must say their service is exceptional. I had an appointment for color and haircut. Kelly did a great job with my color and gave me good advice as to picking the right shade of color for my hair. Whitney gave me a fabulous haircut. She has so far been the best stylist I've seen. She spent a lot of time discussing my haircut with me before actually cutting it which really helped. Unlike other stylists who don't have time to listen to what the client has to say. I'm very happy with my haircut and color and would definitely recommend them to everyone. read more

The salon itself is super cute painted in hot pink, Dolly Parton themed and just overall welcoming. I've been loyally seeing Collie for haircuts since she's a genius when it comes cutting thick hair. Unfortunately, Collie has moved to another state and upon setting an appointment with the front desk, they set me up with Anatalie. The salon asks for clients to fill out a form prior to the appointment in which one of the questions asks for an inspo pic (see below). I also want to note it takes me an hour to commute to downtown jersey from Brooklyn where I live now. The salon is empty and it's just me and Anatalie. She informs me that most of the stylist are gone summer Fridays and that she's covering for some of them. During our conversation, I find out that she's actually the owner of the salon and that she's not usually behind the chair. We have a great conversation, she's very down to earth, very likable, and very easy to talk to. I showed her the inspo pic before she started cutting, and I also told her that I included it in the form. Im requesting for a long shag with a 2 inch trim for any split ends. At this point, it's almost over two hours that I've been sitting in her chair and now she's rushing to finish the trim post blow dry because her last client is waiting. I think we've all been there where we're sitting in the chair and we see ourselves in the mirror and it's not looking like the inspo pic but we're hoping its because it's not styled how you would do it at home. At this point, I'm not trying to be negative but Anatalie tells me that "if I see anything that looks off or needs to be trimmed more, to call in for another appointment" to which is a alarming especially since she knows that I don't live nearby. When I get home, I brush my fingers through my hair and I feel that the ends of my hair were absolutely not debulked. It looks like a block of hair straight across. My layers were completely uneven; one side of my hair was thinned out way more than the other side. My right curtain bang was cut in too deep so it goes past my ear. She also cut much more than the 2 inches I requested. I texted the next day to see if I can get another stylist to fix it since it doesn't seem like she is familiar with cutting thick hair or possibly it's been too long since she's been behind the chair. I was told that it has to be her as there are no refunds offered. I paid about $165 with tip total. I did go to another salon and paid over $100 to get it fixed but the length of my hair was compromised and there are areas like my curtain bangs that can't be fixed since hair is missing. I wish Anatalie was straightforward and could've told me that a shag is out of her expertise and that if I come back another day, someone else could've attended me. And although a refund isn't going to grow my hair out, it would've been nice to have that to cover going to another salon.

All I can say is that I am very, very happy I took her suggestion. I have a new hair salon (which is lovely) and Anthony is FANTASTIC. One of those artists who isn't just going to do what the picture you brought in looks like. He's going to talk to you about what version of that style might be best for you. He takes everything into consideration and doesn't make a move on anything with your hair until you are both excited about the plan. Honestly, I never want to go to anybody else. And I should add that everyone I met at that salon, including the owner, was incredibly nice. Like, genuinely nice. Not performing for customers.
