So I decided to grow my hair long because of being home and not having to go to my corporate office every day anymore. Before growing my hair long, I would get my cut every two weeks the usually fade and shape up. Now the problem is finding a guy I trust to cut my hair and where to even begin. I was referred to Steven from a very good friend of mine and he highly recommended Spesh Salon. He told me to go online and set up an appointment which was very easy. I met with Steven Torres the Salon owner, super friendly and we talk about life and things before even getting a cut, which made me feel very comfortable. He then asked me about my hair and I told him what i wanted and what he recommended. Probably one of the best haircuts I have ever got. I loved it, it was exactly what my wife wanted and she loved it! Can't wait for my next cut. I takes a lot for me to write a review. That is how happy I am with my hair. I REALLY wanted to like this place based on the reviews. Didn't have a great experience. I had a barber already in Hoboken that had no availability and thought I'd try someone else. Although I loved the layout and energy of the inside of the business, the haircut experience was sub-par. I'm a talker and one reason why I enjoy my go to barber is because we share some great conversation during the haircut. I did not have that experience here. Whenever I tried to engage in conversation it wasn't reciprocated. Although the barber seemed friendly... 1) there was no conversation. I tried talking but ended up basically talking to myself 2) fade was not on point. 3) haircut seemed incredibly rushed 4) made the haircut appointment the night before and selected a regular haircut with a wash included but that wasn't even offered. I've have visited Several hair spots. While some are ok, ok really doesn't cut it. I'm happy to have found this place (actually my wife told me about them, they're on IG) Anyhow Jean Paul was excellent. I felt comfortable with him immediately. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he executed the job top notch. While he was friendly and talkative at times he was quiet because he really was concentrating and focused.
