I was a client since the moment they opened, years ago. The establishment has had its ups and downs but now the hassle is just not worth it. I had booked an Appt for hair and makeup....I got to the Appt, pay, tip and leave. I go home and notice I was overcharged by $90. I call and get told that's impossible and I'm lying. I ask if I can send screen shots. They receive them and are like "oh this happens all the time"....ok? It ended up turning into a whole mess and I had to call the bank to report it....again, just not worth it. They have great staff (Eartha is the absolute best)...but the lack of management and leadership is so visible it's just not worth the headache. This place is horrible. I actually walked out. When I walked in a blond woman literally held her finger up to me as she looked at a computer screen instead of greeting me. She had told me I could come in for a last minute appointment so I took the time to drive there. Then I sat for fifteen minutes while she said she was trying to figure out who could do my hair. I never was helped and just left. On top of it all the stylists there you can tell are way over worked and were literally holding the blow dryer on top of people's hair directly damaging it I am sure. I have been using their services on and off for sometime. Now thay I am working I need to have my hair done on a weekly basis. Love the girls and everyone of them are top stylist. My only complaint is the type of music played and sound level. Most women want to relax when having their hair done especially in the early morning. The music was very loud and when combined with the sound of the blow driers...it is anything but relaxing. I had my hair and makeup done on Valentine's Day and it was a great experience! The process to book an appointment was easy - all online and they sent reminder emails as well. The staff was kind and everyone was smiling and enjoying their time with their hairdressers/client. They serve a variety of beverages while you are there (which was the only thing I can say they forgot to get me, but again it was extremly busy so I understand). The hairdresser and makeup artist both took time to ask me what I wanted for a look, which really personalized the service unlike other blow-dry bars. I went here recently to treat myself to a blow out before a wedding. I made sure to go online and make an appointment. I confirmed my appointment as well. I arrive to my appointment about 5-10 minutes early. The lady at front was a little busy but she got my name and supposedly checked me in. There were other ladies waiting. I sat and watched them get taken back. There was even a couple people including a person who was admittedly late to her appointment and was taken back before me. After about 15 minutes of waiting, I asked the two ladies at the desk if they forgot about me since I had been waiting awhile. They assured me that they did not forget. About 2 minutes later, one of the ladies came up to me and said "what's your name again?" Then she goes back up to her desk and I see the other lady walking around the salon looking frazzled. Finally 20 minutes after my appointment time (which means I was there for at least 25 minutes), I was taken back to get my hair washed. Once I got started, everything was ok. I was done in time and fortunately was not late to my event. My hair looked great and I was happy. But the staff really messed up and did not even try to own up to their mistake. They did not make me feel welcome. I don't live in Miami, but even if I did, I won't be back. read more

I appreciate the comment left by the company on my review. However, I would like to respond. I provided a phone number on the day I was receiving the service which was taken down by the receptionist. I know this was the correct number because she read it back. When I left a number with my message (the day I complained), if the receptionist wrote it down incorrectly, it could have been found in your records. You also had my e-mail, which I received a thank you for letting your team "blow me away". There were different ways I could have been reached. I reached out desperately via Facebook after hours of not receiving a response. Next, my friend, her makeup artist, and stylists in the area can testify that I voiced my concerns about the time crunch and wanted to leave and do my own makeup. Instead, I was urged to stay because the woman doing my makeup would only be another 5 minutes and will have me out quickly. That did not happen. And I would have gladly provided her with a picture of makeup via my cell phone if she had asked. However, since I had seen other clients get their makeup done (including my friend) and they did not provide pictures I did not think to do it. Nor do I understand why I have to provide a picture when it seems that was not necessary for anyone else. And I do appreciate the woman attempting to redo my makeup even though I told her it was not necessary. But after I cried (because I realized I would miss the event) I knew the makeup would run and I would wash it off anyway. If they fought me on not paying I would have gladly wiped the makeup off in front of everyone. The service you offer is professional makeup done within 30 minutes (time was stated by your staff, I asked since I knew I had to leave). I did not receive that service. Finally, you are correct. A blow dry will not cause hair to break like that. However, curling someone's thin hair at a high temperature and then leaving it on that hair for a long period of time WILL damage it. When I showered I used a shampoo, conditioner, and detangling spray (I did not comb through dry, hair sprayed hair as your comment assumes). My hair was so damaged by the iron that it in fact broke off as I brushed it. That much hair is not supposed to come off a person's head whether or not they use a detangler. Also, when I brushed my hair I did not yank through it to hurt myself and pull out hair. I do not want to lose hair, nor do I really want to put myself through this stress of seeing a lot of my hair in a brush after every few strokes. I brushed my hair the same way I do after every shower and it broke off. Why was this day different from any other? Because not even 24 hours ago I had gotten my hair done at your salon. Please, do not insinuate that it is my fault the makeup came out badly because I did not bring a picture and that my hair broke off because.... I brushed it wrong? I don't want to go back to the salon because I am embarrassed about the makeup and now my hair. And especially now, after all this back and forth, how am I supposed to go back to the salon without feeling awkward ?! I just wanted someone to call me back and give me a refund. That's it. I want this whole nightmare to be over with. I didn't think it would be dragged out on YELP. The products are a nice gesture, but honestly I do want a professional treatment from a salon I feel comfortable with. I was hoping to do that with my refunded money, but you do not want to cancel the transaction. read more

Let me start off my saying that I am EXTREMELY picky about who blowdries by hair because #1 I have curly hair, #2 I have a lot of it and #3 I also have extensions. I went in last week and had to wait about 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment. The stylist was nice but she was the type that refuses to use flat irons but I decided to do my hair with curls, mind you I have thick curly hair by the time I got home and settled it all my curls were gone :( I paid $35 plus tip for a hair style that I had to retouch the next morning for my special event. I was very disappointed because I can do my hair myself with curls and it will last me for days. I sent an email to Blow N Dry Lounge letting them know but never heard back from them. First and foremost I think that $35 for a wash and dry is an excellent price for Pinecrest. My appt time was 3:00pm, I arrived 2 minutes prior and I was seen almost immediately. The wash was great, not a quick two second deal like other places but rather a nice relaxing exprience. I cannot remember the stylist's name but let me say she knew my hair (I have curly, thin, long, highlighted hair). She knew how to work it and how to style it the way I wanted. My style could have easily lasted 3 or more days but I am a clean freak and well I washed it 1.5 days later. I was asked several times if I wanted anything to drink or if there was anything I needed. I wasn't pleased with my first visit. The stylist was sweet, but the job wasn't well-done. I filled out a questionnaire and they immediately contacted me to comp me for my visit. The second visit was better, although I still didn't get that "fresh out of the salon" feeling that I normally have post-blow dry. I have been with Blow N Dry Lounge since the very beginning, they started off with mobile services and every time I called/text asking to fit me in they always managed to go above and beyond to make sure I would be taken care of. With that said I have tried about half of the stylists at the lounge and all have been extremely professional, shown above average customer service and exceptional work. I HIGHLY recommend this spot if you are some like me who has been with my hair/color stylist for over 10 years and will never leave him but from time to time needs just to get my hair done in and out for a night out or just because. After being a client at Blow N Dry Lounge for several years and always being more than satisfied (thank you, Elsy), I was surprised and a bit taken back when I went to use my points that I accumulated (for being such a loyal customer) for a free blowout and was told "we are no longer using them as of now." I had at least 3 free blow outs with their point system and receive ALL their emails, so I found it odd that with no warning at all they suddenly stopped using a system they had used for over a year. What was more upsetting is that the owner was standing right there and heard the assistant explaining that the points are no longer valid and when I questioned when it ended, the owner, Sylvia I believe is her name, literally left out the door without looking back. I feel like after being a weekly, loyal client I deserved a little more than that from an owner. She left her front desk employee in a very uncomfortable position to say the least. I came in to Blow N Dry Lounge on Valentines Day to do my hair and makeup and immediately I was impressed! There was a champagne and sweets bar to greet me, alongside a welcoming and very friendly staff. The beautician who did my makeup took her time and gave so much attention to detail. She listened to me describe the look I wanted, helped me truly conceal my problem areas, and even placed little "winglike" covers to prevent the eye makeup from falling on the rest of my face. She even tried on different lip colors until I found the right one!! She made me feel so comfortable during the process and even gave me tips to help my makeup last the rest of the night!! When I looked in the mirror, I couldn't believe how polished and professional my makeup looked! It was amazing! The stylist who did my hair did an exceptional job as well! She listened to what I wanted and even showed me different pictures on her IPad to confirm what I wanted. She took her time, and made suggestions about how to part the hair, and maintain the wave! I have to tell you I could not be happier with the look they created with my long hair! I felt like a different person! I posted my picture on Facebook and I have NEVER in my entire life gotten so many compliments!!! "You look gorgeous! Stunning! Who did your hair?, etc"...Friends started texting me wanting to know my secret...where had I gone? I had to agree it was truly an AMAZING transformation!
