I am torn about this place. I have gone to this place twice. There are certain things where they are wonderful and exceed my expectations. But at other times not so much. Let me state, first, I love the overall concept of just a blow-dry salon. Its great! My first time, I was super excited, I made my appt. and showed up five minutes before because I was in such a rush. The girl who took me in was very nice. However, just to get my hair washed, it took over 15 minutes, because the sinks were busy. And every time she would say, ok let's go, someone else would sit there. It was irritating. Long story short, I was running short on time, I didn't get to get my hair styled the way I wanted, but it was finished a few minutes late. So I decided to give them a second time, of course every time I try to get my hair done, I realize I am pressed for time. Let me just state, I have more hair than the average person, therefore it takes a little longer. I called and I asked the girl who answer the phone, do you think I would be out in time? She insisted I would. I highly doubted, but I thought, well, why not? I am already here. Now, here is were this salon bothers me, I was refer to this girl who was just simply rude. Her first remark was , "oh, you have a lot of hair". And it seemed like she was stalling in the sink. Glancing at everyone, implying about how much hair do I have. How much work she is going to have. We then moved to her chair, where she kept on asking people to come over, eventually called a petite Hispanic girl that she seemed to have some animosity with, the girl said, "you need help ?i'll be right over". Shortly after, what I believe was a manager or someone of authority whisper to her, yeah don't worry she'll do it. Do you honestly think I am DEAF?! Am I BLIND?! Do I not see your glares and gestures? I really wish i could remember her name. You should really treat everyone with all kind of hair textures the same. UGH!! Eventually, I guess the manager asked the Hispanic Girl to do my hair, The girl that passed me over said she had someone else stopping by for her. Yeah, sure, that's why you sat there hoping someone with shorter hair would walk in. RUDE! Ugh! I was ready to walk out, but I wanted to give this place one last shot. The girl I was switch to actually was really nice, didn't made me feel like, 'oh, what a hassle to do your hair' . And said don't worry, we'll finish on time, then someone else came over to help dry my hair. I loved that girl, an African American girl with some power, dried helped dry my hair in just minutes. None of them mention that I had a lot of hair or made me feel horrible about it. I felt good, I felt good that they had switch me over. At the end my hair looked beautiful, styled nicely and what do you know, with time to SPARE! I figure I give this place one last shot. Since those two other girls were super nice. However, my experience with this one girl bothers me--and specially that manager, why encourage her rude attitude. Needless to say, when I walked out, I tipped everyone, but her. She was just rude. I, too went to the salon on Valentines Day but had a totally different experience. I waited for 4 hours to get my hair prepared for our night out. I had originally purchased a package of 4 visits and was on my last one. I guess the owner knew because she told me in front of a room full of clients that my hair takes too long and "don't ever come back". I was embarrassed and did not know what to say. I am quiet and classy and would not drop to the owners level of rude and obnoxious behavior. I hope someone else has a better experience in the future as I would never return let alone recommend this place and in particular the owner. There is a saying: The fish rots from the head down. I had a very bad experience here. The employees were nice but at the same time a bit careless, dismissive, and inconsiderate. I called in advance to make sure my stylist, Bianca, was ready for me since I was in a time crunch and didn't want to wait. I was told she was ready and waiting for me but when I arrived she was busy getting her hair done by another stylist. I was barely acknowledged. Bianca leisurely started 10 minutes late after her own blowout was done. The biggest problem was that I asked for a good rinse so that the blowout would last as well as volume. I emphasized those two. Instead, I ended up with the worst and flattest blowout I've ever had - and my hair looked greasy and was sticking to my head. She didn't know how to follow the simplest of directions. She even put a finishing conditioning thing on the TOP of my head - contributing to the greasy look. It was the biggest waste of time and money I've ever spent. I will not be coming back. Trust me - you're better off going to Paul Mitchell and having a STUDENT do your hair. read more

All I can say is WOW!!!! I have been trying out different "blow-dry salons" in the Miami area and this one did not disappoint! I needed a blow dry, up-do and make-up application for a Sunday wedding...very hard to find any place open on a Sunday...forget about a place that can actually do the job well! I made my appointment in person about a week before. The young lady at the front desk was pleasant and made both my hair/make up appointment with Aylive. She was amazing!!!! The wash was relaxing and the blow out very effective. I have baby fine hair with tape in e tensions for body, and Aylive knew exactly how to make it work. I was skeptical be she didn't use any volumizer, but when she started creating my hairstyle, I understood why. Only a picture can explain what she create...a true masterpiece! It took longer than expected, but it was worth it. After hair, she did my make-up...once again, perfection. I am not an easy client when it comes to make-up...I have professional training, but prefer to be pampered every chance I get. Aylive nailed it! The blending of eyeshadow was perfect, the contouring wasn't too extreme and the she managed to even do a great job with my eyebrows! Unfortunately, I was running late and she didn't get to snap a picture of the end result for the make-up...but if I can find one from that evening, I'll post it later. All in all, I was extremely impressed! People complimented me ALL night and I felt like a superstar! I love this place it is my savior for when I am too lazy to do my hair on my own. The price is reasonable which is why I can come here when I am just lazy! I've been several times with several different hairdressers and I haven't encountered any problems. Everyone does exceptional jobs hair-styling and I always leave more than satisfied! My hair lasts almost a week before it looks dirty which is a plus! They offer complimentary drinks which is very nice and they have a package of 4 blow dries for about $100 something which is a great deal but I never have the money to shell out at once :( I've never come here pressed for time, it's always a few hours of relaxation for me. My experience is not about my hair or makeup because I disnt get the chance to do either. I called on a saturday morning to schedule a sunday appointment. The person that first picked up the phone was extremely rude and unprofessional, as if she was in a terrible mood. She left me on hold for over 4 minutes until I decided to hang up. I called back and a guy answered, this time much better. I asked for an appointment and he gave me one. When I show up sunday for my appointment, there was no appointment booked for me. I have come to this salon at least a handful of times and if I lived closer, I am sure I would be there much more often. This is not my first post (the other one was actually very positive) but I was so upset with my experience, I have to share. I had made this particular apt AT LEAST 3 weeks in advance, if not more. I told the woman who took my information that I wanted a lose pony tail with volume and maybe a simple braid - very Gossip Girl esque. This was for my engagement party so I asked her which stylist that she recommended and when she assigned me one, I confirmed that she knew how to do a braid and would be the best fit for my look. "Oh yes, she is awesome," the woman assured me. I called AGAIN the day before my apt bc I never got a confirmation call so I figured I would confirm the apt myself. My apt was there and I asked the receptionist AGAIN if the woman that was scheduled to do my hair could replicate the look that I was going for. Once again, "Oh yes, she is awesome," she assured me. So when I went to my apt, I sat down in the chair with a very quiet stylist. I showed her pictures at least a dozen times of what I was looking for. By the time she got to the pony tail and braid portion of the look - she had to call another stylist over because SHE DID NOT KNOW HOW TO DO IT! That was the most frustrating part. I called so many times to ensure that my hair would be perfect for my special night and it was as if they did not even take my preferences seriously or care. My hair didn't really look like the picture, it was very tight and there was so much product that I couldn't even loosen it up myself. It was stiff rather than messy. Obv I kept it for my party but it just was not how I imagined. It had tight curls and the pony went on the side rather than centered. It definitely wasn't lose and messy like the photo. I still felt beautiful but was disappointed in the overall experience. I wish I would have been better informed and felt like a valued client who just wanted to be scheduled properly. It wasn't like I made the apt days before and there weren't many stylists available...I called WEEKS PRIOR! Please note, I will probably be back bc I do love the concept but I will use the stylist right next to the receptionist desk bc I have used her, trust her, and are always happy with her. Although the salon should be informed and be able to schedule properly, I guess that will be the clients job from now on. read more

This place is ok. I've been there about 7 times. Go with time. This is supposed to be a quick blow dry but the shortest time I have ever been in an hour and a half. Sometimes two hours. One time I asked for a beach wave type curl. I walked out looking like Shirley temple. The last time I went was the end of me trying. I got my hair and makeup done for my friends wedding that I was a brides maid. My makeup was horrible and my hair maid me look like a man. I ran home and had my sister fix both. I love this place! I have gone several times and I must say, they never disappoint. Even on the occasions when I have had a last minute emergency (because yes, the need for a good blow out can at times, be a real emergency...ladies, you know what I mean!), they have been very accommodating. Great blow outs but not dependable. If you need them for an event, I wouldn't book this place as they tend to cancel last minute. It's a shame they don't have their act together because their blow outs are great. If you are willing to gamble go ahead and book but if you need to count on them go elsewhere. Great receptionist, she was very nice to all of the customers. Love my wine and the hair wash massage was the best wow i could had stay there for hours, Can I say more? The staff at Blow & drive lounge has become like a second family to me . I come so often that I have bought a package of several blowouts .. Everyone at the Salon is amazing! From the moment they greet you until you leave . Johanna is a doll inside and out ! Carey is an incredibly talented make up artist ! Willing to give you fabulous lashes at a moments notice .. today I did not have an appt. but Alba took initiative and between Carey they were able to accommodate me . Love them ! This place is a HOT MESS! I have been here six times and maybe been happy with the results twice. Appointment times seem to be a mere suggestion, don't expect this place to respect your time or your sense of preferred style. My scalp has been burnt by stylists holding the blow dryer too close to my head, the side of my neck was burnt on another visit with a curling iron because the stylist was too busy talking with her colleague. The blowouts I have received never seem to last long, if they make it a few hours after I leave the salon I call myself lucky. The salon itself is overly crowded, very loud and their stylists are a hot mess rarely giving me the simple style I requested. Newer and better blowout places have opened nearby and happily go to them now, at least there my time is respected, appointments are confirmed in a timely manner, they stylists are top notch unlike at Blow N Dry Lounge. Oh, and once they have your email they keep it, even if you UNSUBSCRIBE! I have unsubscribed from their emails now over four times and they still keep emailing me (which is illegal!) Will not be going back EVER AGAIN!!! read more

I've been there once and was very satisfied. That first time, a stylist had called out sick so I waited over an hour after my scheduled appointment. However, I was so satisfied with the outcome and the stylist, that I didn't even think about the wait. However, I did ask if they usually run on time. The answer was yes and that day was out of the ordinary. To my disappointment I called at 8:00 am today and was told today that a stylist had called out sick (again) and there were no appointments until 12:45. I have to be somewhere at 11. Disappointed. Sounds like it's like at every other salon, appointments need to be made way ahead of time and then verified or cross you fingers. What a great idea this business is! Our daughter got married on March 1st, 2014. We had our bridesmaids come for hair trials before the big day! We walked in and are greeted enthusiastically, plus are offered champagne or other refreshments. Each girl and myself sat down with their individual hairstylist and we talked about the looks we wanted. They had lots of different hairstyles to choose from. Each of us picked what we wanted and then each girl gets their hair washed and styled. The hairstylist continue talking to you to make sure they are doing what you like. All the girls left happy. Then the big day comes... They sent 5 stylist to the Biltmore Hotel to make 9 of us beautiful for the wedding which included the 2 moms and the flower girl. It was very relaxing and everything was done on time! My daughters hairdresser even came to the reception to put up her hair so she'd be comfortable for the reception and even touched up my do! It was a wonderful experience for us all. I even went back yesterday for a blow dry, I got an additional surprise and had a scalp massage! Talk about relaxing! Great company, great employees. I was excited that there was a blow dry salon concept near my home. Although I adore my regular hair stylist, it is sometimes hard to get an appointment with her on the weekends and she is located far from where I live. I travel often and go to blow dry places when on the road. Most times it is one of the national chains for blow dry and I feel their service is consistent. I was a walk in appointment for Blow N Dry on a busy Saturday in February. They said they couldn't see me immediately but that I could come back and be seen without a wait at 5:30 PM. Being that I had to leave for an event on Miami Beach no later than 7:30 I knew I was cutting it close but didn't want to search for another place to get it done. I left the salon and ran a few errands before returning at 5:30PM. The receptionist checked me in and told me to take a seat that someone would be with me shorty. 45 minutes later not even the receptionist had come by to give me an update. At this point I was nervous about the time and extremely uncomfortable as there is no true waiting area. Plus with the place being so small, the constant blowdryers going off and people running back and forth it is not relaxing. After waiting almost an hour I got seen. I explained to the hair stylist that I was looking for stick straight hair as the humidity would eventually make it curly. She gave me a decent wash (not great) and then blow-dried and straightened my hair with an iron. Despite her best efforts, the hairstyle didn't even last until the next morning. Overall disappointing for what I paid. I could have done a better job myself. Just like the stars above indicate. It is a two because "meh, I've experienced better". read more

Went in for my appointment and left extremely satisfied! I showed up with my hair blow dried and the stylist Jennifer did my waves for a wedding that I had at night. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This is the second time I feel the need to come on here and write them a bad review. What happened to me yesterday was by far the worst experience I have had with a salon. Per my previous review, I already had an issue with this place and punctuality. I was told by the owner that if I wanted to make sure my service was done on time, to book a mobile appointment. Not only would they be punctual... they would be 15 minutes early! Yesterday was my baby shower so I decided to give them another try and book the mobile appointment. WHAT A MISTAKE! When I booked the appointment, the person who answered said she didnt know if they did mobiles on Sundays and she needed to check with the owner. I told her that the owner was the one who suggested to me that I do a mobile, even though it would be for a Sunday morning, to make sure it was done on time. She said she would get back to me and called me back to the same day to say they could do the mobile on Sunday. She then took down my address.I was very clear that I needed them to be punctual because I already had an issue with them and this was for MY baby shower. Thursday, I CALLED THEM to confirm, and even asked if they had my address. They said yes. Friday, I receive an email from them confirming my MOBILE appointment. Sunday morning, the day of my baby shower comes around, and I was ready, with my hair wet, at 10AM sharp. By 10:15 when no one had shown up, especially since i already had an issue with them and appointment times, I called to see what was going on. The girl at the front said she'd get back to me. 5 minutes later, still no one called me back so I called again. She said the manager was 'figuring it out'. FIGURING IT OUT?? What is there to figure out??? The only explanation should've been that the person was lost trying to find my house!! She kept saying that a manager or the owner would call me. Finally at 10:30 the manager calls and says that what happened was that my appointment was booked as a normal appointment instead of a mobile. How? Considering that I was very clear about it every time, mentioned my address, every time, and even received an email from them specifying MOBILE appointment? I have NO IDEA. At this point, im crying my eyes out, I have no idea what to do. They keep promising that they will get someone to me. At 11:15 AM, over an hour after my scheduled appointment, they still have not sent anyone out. I speak to the owner and she offers to send someone, free of charge, which i'm sure they feel should've sufficed to correct the issue (if it was my business, I would've offered more than one free blow dry after what happened if i had any interest in keeping the customer), but at this point I was already running late for my own shower, and as my husband pointed out, if they realized there was a problem at 10:15am.... how was it AN HOUR LATER and STILL no one was even on their way to do my hair???? THANK GOD I was not relying on this disaster of a salon for my make-up. The person who did my make-up jumped through hoops to find me someone to come and do my hair. I will be forever grateful to her. As far as blow n dry lounge goes though, I am beyond disappointed that not only would I have been a regular customer of theirs, but I was recommending them to people left and right. I know of at least one person who was actually getting their hair done there the morning of my shower. I am sure that whoever Samantha is will come and comment on my post saying how they did no wrong because they offered to send someone free of charge (who at that point would'nt have arrived until almost 2 hours after my scheduled appointment) but what happened yesterday is completely UNACCEPTABLE. I have NEVER spent the morning of a big event in my life, crying my eyes out, as I did yesterday thanks to this place. I guess if you dont have anywhere to go, and are just getting your hair done for the hell of it and have nothing better to do than sit around a salon or your house waiting around, then yeah sure... check this place out. But if you have somewhere to be at a certain time, especially if its a big event for you, DO NOT RELY ON THESE PEOPLE. read more

Appointments are a joke at this place. I rushed over to make sure I was there on time and all the stylists were working on someone else. After waiting for 20 min the lady tells me it should be another 15 min. That's 35 min after my appointment. It ALWAYS happens my 1 hour blow dry ends up being a two hour blow out with the wait. I just left this time because appointments are made for a reason - I have things to do. Never coming here again. read more

I opened a Yelp account just to leave this review. I'm not one to review things but this is a special case. I cannot say anything about their hair services because I have never had my hair done here. However, I worked an event and had to have my makeup done and Blow n Dry was the company in charge of the makeup. They did not wash their tools prior to working on any of the girls which is EXTREMELY unsanitary and dangerous. Also, they DID NOT wash their makeup brushes BETWEEN girls. They just kept using the same tools for everyone. This can cause infections and many other problems. Please use this review as a lesson. WASH YOUR MAKEUP TOOLS. It was my first time at Blow N Dry Lounge and I had my hair done by Heather. Let me start off by saying my hair tangles easily and styling it doesn't come easy. I explained to Heather the type of hair I have and what style I wanted. She then shampooed and conditioned my hair (which felt amazing) and proceeded to blow dry my mane. About 30 minutes later, my hair was bouncy, sleek, and smooth. I was surprised at how quick she was and how great my hair came out in the short amount of time it took her. The atmosphere and ambiance of the whole place was very welcoming. Everyone was extremely friendly and made me feel comfortable. When my service was done, I was handed a "prescription" that listed all the products that were used in case I wanted to purchase any. I also love the fact that they have pre paid blow dry packages, which are convenient for those who frequently professionally style their hair. I will definitely be back! read more

My favorite blow dry bar. Usually when I find places this good, I keep it a secret. But then they only charged me $35 for a blow out despite my thick long hair so I had to return the love. I'd like to buy one of their packages, because this is my new go-to place. SO GLAD I found them.
