I've yet to get ice cream or anything like when I go to Blue Deer, but about the half time I stop by there's usually a small line which goes to show how good the quality is in general. It's very much a hole-in-the wall, especially with Blowing Rock being a very small town, but it's quaint and friendly, and it feels good to support a local business. The nice thing as well is that it's basically at the end of Main, so you can get your coffee and walk the entire drag exploring the shops. Whenever I'm in the area I love stopping in here and I'll definitely be doing so for a while :)

When we walked in, we could immediately smell the buttery croissants being baked. Since we just had breakfast, we just wanted a Cortado. The staff member who took our order was very friendly, and there wasn't a wait for our coffee. The best thing was that the Cortado was delicious! It was just $3.50 plus tax--a good value. We'll definitely be back. And next time, we'll try a chocolate or almond croissant!

We went with a sweet almond croissant and 2 different types of savory quiches, a bacon cheese and a broccoli cheese. Everything had fantastic flavors. The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is because the warmed up items were still a tad bit cold inside. This is the second time we've been here, and had a similar experience the first round. With proper heating time, these would have been top notch and 5 star all around. We'll be back for more bakery goodness for sure. We'll politely ask that the items get heated through next time just in case.

When I placed my order, the woman (who I believe was a co-owner) was as unexcited about my presence as the nearby trash can. Absolutely no personality, and not even a "Thank You." I ordered the American with tomato. It came out looking for the world like it was "grilled" in a pannini press. The mix of American and provolone tasted like pure Velveeta. Unless you want a bland pannini-press cheese sandwich, I suggest you consider other options.
