Hands down the best mocktail I've ever had was a blackberry mule - it was a bit spicy but not overpowering. Delicious. The tomato Gouda soup was rich and creamy, and the sourdough on the grilled cheese had that perfect crunch and they added thick bacon for me. He loved his usual order and my tacos were good even though mahi mahi was overcooked. This is a very organic type restaurant so I experienced different flavors than I usually do in fish tacos. A lot of the brunch places which open early were already full, but when I popped into this place around 11, it was not (yet). They had a patio and an indoor area, which were not all that different in temperature, but notably the patio allows dogs. The menu here offers ample options for all diets. I still felt a bit lame ordering a salad called the "Veganista", but when it came I took one look at it and thought "that is what food is supposed to look like". The greens tasted fresh, and my overflowing plate included fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, some tempeh, and a couple of slices of spiced avocado toast. If there are any food groups not represented there, it's probably not something you should be eating. It all mixed together rather delightfully and made for a good start of the day. You certainly don't have to be vegan to eat here, but if you are and you want to eat somewhere where your non-vegan friends will be looking longingly at your plate, this is the place. read more

The staff is welcoming, knowledgeable, and accommodating. 2. The interior is cozy, intimate, and warm (very good on a cold evening). 3. The food is DELICIOUS, particularly the Chaing Maya Noodles (rice noodles in a truly inspired sesame ginger sauce with a variety of beautifully prepared vegetables), made even more glorious by adding tempeh. 4. Pricing is a little steep - entrees start at $15.50 for Cuban Beans & Rice and can run as high as $30 depending on whether you choose to add a protein or sub a gluten-free bun. Although I do acknowledge that high quality, local food costs more and agree it's often worth it, this does limit my ability to dine at Wild Craft as often as I would like, despite the enticing food, staff, and atmosphere. read more

Fun atmosphere and good service we're visiting here from down the mountain but the price is way up the mountain. Food is okay. Nothing ground breaking, had the BLT with a side of tomato gouda soup and a watermelon balsamic salad. The BLT was good but not worth the almost 20usd they're asking for it. The salad was very salty due to the balsamic and additional cracked salt but the burrata center mellowed the flavor. Again I'll reiterate the soup was just okay, not what was expected for the price. However, the strawberry mint soda was the best part of the evening. I probably won't come back. read more

Food quality / price (value) rating 10. The atmosphere is eclectic, and they have a wonderful outdoor seating area. The menu is a wide ranging mix of extraordinarily well chosen dishes, all of which have unique twists you won't find anywhere else! I had the Grilled Cheese Extraordinaire with bacon that came on a perfectly grilled locally baked bread. It was quite likely the nest grilled cheese I've ever had. A cup of spicy homemade sweet potato corn chowder came with it, and was a perfect accent to go with the grilled cheese. They have a full bar and a wide variety of canned and bottled beers. Their specialty cocktails include several unique and original recipes, including a special method that freezes water at the bottom of the cocktail glass where it remains while you drink your cocktail - very clever and original. We finished our meal with a couple of house made blueberry sugar cookies that were fantastic! The manager, Carrie, was very attentive answering our questions and informative regarding the food and its preparation and local sourcing. Our server, Kacya, was also attentive with the service we were given. The prices were right, and the portions were generous. This restaurant deserves a rare rave review. read more

I feel bad giving this really cute restaurant 3 stars. but the problem is the food! The restaurant is so cute and I think the menu is great. I love how there are so many healthy options. They also have a beautiful porch. I can see why people like it here! However, I think the food is really low effort compared to the price. The chips we got were *actually* just cold Tostitos chips straight from the bag. I was actually shocked lol. I would at least buy restaurant style chips. Or even warm them up! The entrees were fine but not good enough to fix my opinion. Also, the desserts come from the freezer (they bought them from a bakery and froze them). And that's totally fine! Always on the list when I visit Boone. A hip little place on the busy King Street. The menu leans vegan and decor is informal and a bit whimsical as one would expect to cater to the college students. The food is clean and healthy and most of all delicious. The yellow Marsala curry is better than any I've had in the fanciest Indian restaurants I have patronized. Some friends and I stopped by Wild Craft the day after Thanksgiving. Everyone was tired and ready to eat. They have quite an eclectic collection of clocks in the walls, so those were cool to check out. We were able to get a table that was inside a "nook" set apart some from the other tables. My friends all got the beer special and I ordered a sangria which came in a good sized glass. Their menu doesn't seem to have a set theme, but offers a bunch of different types of dishes from shepherds pie to burgers to tacos. I ended up getting the chaing maya noodle bowl which was essentially pad Thai. It was a healthy portion and definitely had a decent kick to it. One of my friends enjoyed the Boonie pot pie and another got the tacos. If in Boone again I would visit again and try another of their yummy dishes. read more

We were a party of 10 and everyone loved their meal. Orders ranged from burgers, burrito Mojo, enchiladas, cheese and tomato sandwich, tacos, etc. Everything was excellent. I really enjoyed the spicy, sweet, tangy burrito. Our waitress was wonderful and fun. The wait for a table was definitely worth it. Ambiance was nice as well. We really wanted to like this place but had the worst waitress experience. I don't think I ever left a negative review in my life but our situation was important to note for others Place is cute and we sit down and get greeted by a blonde who said her name was "Chai" she didn't bring us straws because she explained their ran out. Didnt bother us at all and we didn't expect perfect. I asked her about a pasta dish I saw someone else eating and she said they didn't have pasta and then said oh yeah it's named something on our special for today. I said are you sure? I can go ask the table and she confirmed that was the dish. Okay we will try it and she brought something completely different than what the table was eating. Our plate looked like hot Cheetos and tasted like macaroni and cheese. I could have enjoyed it if I didn't expect the other delicious meal the other table was eating and okay we moved pasted that situation and didn't care that Chai made a mistake we aren't looking for perfect and wanted to enjoy our day so we finished our tomato soup and mahi tacos that we did like and asked for the check. Here comes the frustrating part where Chai was being manipulative. I hand her a $100 bill and she sees it and asks if I wanted change back which if I didn't want change it meant leaving Chai a 70% tip haha Yes please bring us change back I replied thinking gosh I just wanted to enjoy our day and move on. Meal was $60 and I hoped to still give her a 20% tip, Chai comes back with two $20 bills forcing me to either 1-ask for more change which was uncomfortable 2-leave Chai with no tip which would have made me feel bad or 3-leave Chai with a 33% tip which she manipulated to get but did not deserve. We wanted to enjoy Boone for the first time and move past this manipulation and carelessness from our bratty and entitled waitress so I just left her the bigger tip but it bothered me enough to leave this review for others visiting that place in the future read more

We were recommended to eat here by a local. The menu had a lot of vegetarian items and also burgers and mahi. The inside isn't fancy but it's really comfortable and chill. Typical Boone fashion. They have a full bar and the service is great. I ordered the Mahi tacos. The homemade salsa and hot sauce was to die for. I also had a cup of the best tomato bisque I ever had. My friend had the sweet potato enchilada. She said it was one of the best things ever. She also had a specialty margarita that she liked very much. The two carefully crafted sandwiches we thoroughly enjoyed for our lunch were served, along with really delicious cocktails (mint leaves picked fresh from the plant resting on the back of bar counter were an elegant touch for my margarita), by a super friendly team obviously proud of their restaurant. They locally source most of their ingredients. My "mahi sammy" nestled the fish on crunchy, flavorful slaw -- all held together by the perfectly toasted bread that was soft and fluffy inside but sturdy outside: no disintegration like you get with brioche and others. Don't leave without sampling the house-made salsa with the perfect blend of heat and mango sweetness. If I lived locally I'd buy it by the quart, if they'd let me. Nice atmosphere on a summer day with outdoor seating under umbrellas and indoor tables and bar seating, of course. If we lived in Boone we'd be here once a week, for sure. If you can tough it out with a very disorganized staff, slow service, grossly incorrect wait times and eventually get some food to eat... the food will very likely be quite good. We did that, and honestly... almost left the building before getting seated because groups were continuously getting seated in places that would have accommodated our party even though we were there first and higher on the list. It didn't really matter, because seemingly no one was getting food, and then suddenly everyone got food. That was all pretty strange... but ultimately, I got the enchiladas grandes... and they were exceptionally tasty once they appeared in front of me. Everything about them, from the tortillas used, to the succulent meat, and the rich sauce draped over the top... all fantastic. Others at the table also very much enjoyed the meal despite all the service and hosting foibles, especially those that got the Shepherd's pie. But man... did I have to go through some stress to get there! Don't know if I would visit again quite frankly... and I can put up with a lot as long as there is good food waiting for me at the end! read more
