Things started out well with Chance. His work seemed to be fine and he kept his word. He was hired to do specific things around the house and he seemed very knowledgeable about what he spoke about. We had other work going on at the same time as Chance was doing his work. At one point he stared acting as if he was the general contractor for project, telling my other subs how to do their work and trying to bully them. When we had the talk with him that that is not why he was hired and asking him to finish his work he became irritated. The excuses started to come out as why he was not there to finish. He started ignoring calls and texts and making more excuses, the poor guy has had the flue three times now. We are now at the point where no calls are answered or returned and texts are not being returned. Chance really comes across as the nice guy that can do anything for you. His word he will not keep and his work lacks professionalism. He will try to take over control of your project and make decisions without consulting you. He appears to be friendly and interested in your business at first. But your chances of having Chance show up to do the work are slim to none. After months of dilly dallying around, he finally got the work started. After paying him (my bad), I noticed what a sloppy job he did and called him back to discuss. He corrected part of it but after several times he said he'd be back to do the rest and did not show up, I've given up hope of it ever being made right. This whole process has been dragging on for months. I think my project was too small to be important to him. This guy could write a book for all the excuses he gives for not showing up when he said he would. I think he takes on more work than he can handle but that's no reason not to text that he isn't coming so you don't wait around thinking he's just running late. Chance Witherington hung wall cabinets above our washer & dryer. First, he knelt on top of my brand new washer and dented the top. He never used a stud finder to locate the studs and he used drywall screws to secure the cabinets to the wall. Today, my wife opened the cabinet and it separated from the walk. This guy is the pits. Chance has been such a blessing to us. We are a retired couple, and depend on Chance for plumbing, electrical, and overall handyman services. His work is outstanding. Chance can do anything! This man came across very friendly and kind. Although after a few weeks and him taking one of our light fixtures to rewire during Christmas time he turned on us. As I said this was during Christmas time so we told him to hold onto the light and we would get him paid as soon as we had the extra money due to buying loads of Christmas gifts. He then proceeded to say that he has a company to run and we were impeding on this. He did not say it in a nice way he said it in a very mean aggressive profane way. We have email logs months back with him claiming that he dropped off our light "by the second garage," Though we do not have a second garage and my ring footage does not have him on our property. After ordering Amazon Services, I had the unpleasant experience of working with Chance. While he seemed quite friendly on the phone, I soon realized my business was less worthy than other jobs he was on. He rescheduled me twice, was 5 hours late on one occasion, and, finally, refused to work on my project. I was way too trusting of Chance. I believed his well-honed gift of gab and believed him to be caring and honest. Although he initially said that he wouldn't get paid until the project was completed, he asked for half his money mid-way through. I thought it strange that he immediately took my check to the bank to cash it (the bank called to ask if it were genuine). The same thing happened when he finished his work. He cashed the check immediately. One of his jobs was to re-grout or re-caulk my shower and areas in my guest bathroom. Two days after, the caulking just turned to mush and peeled right off. I called him back, and when he came, he said it must have been a bad tube of caulk. I questioned whether it was the right product for the job, and he insisted it was. I've since hired a grout company to re-do the job, and was told that the stuff Chance used should never have been used in a shower! Another project was the replacement of a bathroom vent fan. He replaced the fan, but it's so loud, it hurts my ears! I've hired an electrician to remove and replace the ran. Chance installed RING cameras that have failed to connect to my wi-fi. He promised to replace fan chains that I eventually had to purchase myself on Amazon. By the way, when he came to redo the botched caulking job, he scraped out his caulking and said the area needed to dry . . . and that he'd be back in an hour. That was days ago, and he has failed to return or to respond to my texts. He has ghosted me! I am so very disillusioned in this man. I see online that he was booked in Cobb County in March for damage to property. Not surprised. I hope people see these reviews before thinking of allowing him to do any work for them. read more

PLEASE be aware that Chance Witherspoon, owner of Blu Koala Design does not repair properly and does not stand behind his work, nor is he reliable! I called this company based on a Nextdoor recommendation and he advertised $75 for an hour with an second hour free. When he came he spent 45 minutes at my house and charged me $125. He said that the extra $50 was the trip charge which he had never explained on the phone prior to the visit. However, I did not argue with him and paid him the $125. He even sent me an invoice that said I was entitled to an hour of future service. After calling and texting him for three days, he finally called me back and scheduled a time to come. Guess what.....he was a no-show. I called him and texted him after a few hours to ask what was going on and he never responded. And finally he did not fix what I needed him to repair and actually made it worse. I don't like being negative and he had actually asked me to go on Nextdoor and recommend him and Facebook and like him. Con artist.. will overcharge you if you get distracted and when you claim it he will justify his overcharge with on the fly reasons, that don't merit a charge, nor did he warn you of an upcharge. He dramatizes, exaggerates and yells about the supposed "issues" he found for which he is overcharging. Do yourself a favor and dodge a bullet. I'd give zero stars rather than one. read more

I hired Chance to Drywall and mud my basement a couple months ago. Paid him $4100 up front(no contract written or receipt of payment either from him. The check was immediately deposited. He was to begin immediately and we were told drywall was ordered and would be delivered in days following. Excuses began on why it was not delivered. Finally Home Depot delivered and Chance started some work. It didn't work out for several reasons and I had to bring in real sheetrockers. I was told and in texts and verbal conversations that he would reimburse $2000. A month has now passed and not a dime returned. I agree with others on here... if I could give Zero stars I would. I DO NOT recommend. Hate to see two years after this post Chance is still scamming people. He needs to be in jail for theft and being a conartist. read more

I wish I could post no stars. Same M O as others posted, nice, funny, agreeable at first meeting. Sizing you up. Told us we had knob and tube wiring and our house needed to be completely rewired. Told us we should be staying in a hotel as our house would probably burn down overnight. Next time out he brought a guy who wasn't even capable of putting a light up which I had already wired and had up but needed it moved. They walked around our home like they owned it and I couldn't even find them for a while. Charged me 250, then I realized they took all the outlets he said was bad and just left wires sticking out. left my shovel out. I actually think he might have taken some of my tools. We got a second opinion and the new Electrician said nothing was wrong with our wiring other than a blown fuse. I called Chance and asked him to refund my money, still waiting. Said he was dating The Governor's assistant or something. Very dishonest and calculating. Hire at your own risk. read more

Very disappointed after spending a lot of money for a few projects with this company. Last repair cost me 200 to re-fasten a gutter. It fell off 60 days later. I called chase and he promised to come out multiple times and fix but never did. Value of service and commitment to excellence this experience was not. I'm must say, I was very impressed with this company as a first time client. He installed a kitchen faucet. He came out accessed my concerns, scheduled a time, completed the task with professional skills. I invited my neighbor over to see if there were any tasks or handyman issues she had. We are both scheduled to have our garage ceilings replaced. Im selecting one star just because I can't put zero. Run fast and run far from this company! Total scam artist! This guy will make up rules and conditions as he goes. He will twist your words to make the situation go in his favor. Thank goodness we cancelled before he even started. We cancelled his service within an hour of receiving his estimate and he threatened us with putting a lien on our house if we don't give him non-refundable deposit for cancellation. Then he threatened more when we left bad review on Facebook and demanded to take it down. Please read all reviews before you give your money to him. read more

I wish I read all these reviews first. What a mistake hiring this guy. He was fixing some wood rot on my windows. Instead of making the frame look like one continuous piece he put in small pieces that looked like crap. I also needed work on a few doors that wouldn't close right. He fixed the doors but never sanded or painted. He never bothered to vacuum the mess. Part of the quote was fixing our shower door. He admitted when he got there he couldn't do that work but left the shower door worse than when he got there. The price for the work was for $400, charged me $427. When I told him since he didn't properly fix everything I wanted a partial refund. He said he put in 7.5 hours, it only took that long because his skill set was poor. Never have I seen a check cashed as fast as this one. I just paid another $350 to a competent handyman to do the work right. read more
