I was looking to have hardwood floors (previously purchased at a flooring warehouse) installed in my home along with a few heavy lifting projects around my house (door replacements, light fixtures, drywall repair). I had been getting estimates for weeks and received a variety of answers from "we can't use this material, you have to buy from us or we can't install" to "your drywall just needs a good scrape and paint, it should be fine" (which was not true since it had giant bits of TAR on it from a mirror and some pretty extensive dings in the drywall underneath). In comes Home-Aid Home Repair to the rescue. Mike came over within 2 days of me emailing him and gave me a written estimate the next day - which was also a holiday. Color me impressed! Price-wise, he was less than some of the other estimates I'd received and he also took the time to explain to me why certain things were possible with my materials and exactly what he was going to need to purchase to complete the project. I knew that I wanted to work with someone I trusted and who would "keep it real" with me throughout the process and he was all that and more. I confirmed him to work on my place right away. He and his crew showed up the following Monday on time (they even called in advance to say they were on their way) and they worked for 3 days to give my place a total facelift. They were up front about my displacement (they had to re-pour concrete which meant my dog and I had to find alternative housing, which was no big deal since they told me in advance) and also walked me through the whole process of what they were planning to do and how, along with the materials they were planning on using. I visited the site every day (not because I was checking in, but because I ran out of clothes/forgot things at my house) and they were working away every time! They were always exceedingly cordial and always called me "Miss" when I would arrive at my house. In the end, it ended up taking them 3 days to complete the job when he initially predicted it would take 4. The floors looked beautiful and he and his crew put everything back where it belonged as well as cleaned up after the construction mess. He also provided copies of the receipts for everything he purchased (no upcharging on materials!) By the end of the third day and they'd left, I just sat in my condo in total awe of the work that they'd done and how amazing my place looked. All-in-all, Mike and his crew are the diamond standard of home renovations and once my list of things to work on builds up a bit more, I have no hesitation in hiring him again for all of my home repair needs.

I've had other contractors that started the work and never I completed and it was hell trying to find new people that could finish it up for me. When I put out the SOS I had two separate friends in business send the same number LOL they said talk to "DP at Custom Living" I gave them a shot and I am so pleased... I'm actually getting a little emotional just thinking about how close we came to closing our business because of all the previous contractors taking advantage and not completing the jobs. I wholeheartedly recommend Custom Living and I feel I would be hard pressed to find another Contractor that was as experienced, speedy, personable, and willing to go the extra yard. He even found time to come out to our studio launch!

If my home is 70% complete as he is claiming, it must be at someone else's house because it definitely isn't my house! Stevie Wonder can see that! I asked, begged and pleaded with Daniel to send me at least $5000 back, of which he was supposed to be using $2000 towards the floors. Since that money hasnt been spent on what it was for, I should get it back right? But I'm sure it was spent on labor *inserts eyeroll* and $3000 just cuz he spent my money and I have nothing to show for it!!! I think that's fair? But he refuses to give it back so next will be legal action as I only wanted $5000 back, but lets take it to court and see how much I get from that.... the saga continues!!!

I'll spare you of all the details but water lines left loose so we've had many leaks, large holes left in drywall behind appliances, zero sanding of mud before just painting over the walls, ZERO attention to detail, complete mess to clean up with paint over spray and caulk on the floors and windows, cabinets chipped and installed incorrectly. I can really go on and on, but please do yourself a favor and find someone else. These guys are no good.

I hired Jeff because I needed to…read moreremodel a home that was over a hundred years old and needed to be sure someone had the same vision I did. I wanted to repurpose parts of the home, move windows and doors, and preserve the original details of my home. Most of the other contractors I spoke to told me things that I wanted could not be done but after speaking with Jeff he told me anything can be done! And he made everything happen. My original design for my master bedroom and bathroom which required two front rooms to be reconstructed looks exactly as the finished product. Jeff had to move windows floorboards walls and make repairs as he went. Remember this house was over a hundred years old. I had original hard pine flooring which he preserved. All of his contractors were top-notch. Even baseboards that were original to this home had to have special knives cut to reproduce the original design and Jeff made it happen! I have had other work done in other homes prior to this that were not even difficult projects that did not go as well as this one. Jeff made everything easy with his communication and his professional workers and was very attentive to details. When my brother-in-law who helped me to draw up the original design came to the home to look at the finished work he kept staring at it shaking his head! When I asked him why he was so surprised at the finished room he said "I know I helped you draw up the design but I didn't actually think they would be able to do it!"

Imagination stepped up to finish the work and what a difference! They had many "work around" situations that had to be repaired and were able to fix things without having to tear everything out and start over. The daily site supervision kept everything flowing smoothly and moving forward so they were even able to finish ahead of schedule. When needed, Cameron and Ray both jumped in to do work themselves. They treated our home like their own. The quality of their work was outstanding and at the end of the job, Cameron stopped by to make sure we were completely satisfied. Definitely a class act company and we highly recommend using them!

The initial consultation was straightforward and he brought samples which were helpful. He did a great job listening and quoting for the work I asked for. He worked with my budget and overall was easy to work with. I had some challenges with his team's arrival times not being consistent, and the timeline seemed to take longer than originally expected, but these things happen during renovations and in the end wasn't a huge deal. The entire project took about a week. The final fit and finish were well done, the grout work and glass install were clean and impeccably installed. Finally, a small issue we found with the install was addressed in a timely manner.
