I don't know what they are doing but I just ordered fried pickles that were really hard and the only flavor was really from the dressing they sent out with them. I also got some onion rings and they were really chewy and flavorless. They should add some bread crumbs and seasoning to their breading for them. The only good thing was their French fries. read more

I peculiar yet charming little sports bar in the middle of Lake Monticello. Nothing here was noteworthy but the food was solid, the atmosphere was great, and the wait staff was just okay. Overall I can't really complain about the overall experience I had when I drove through. If you're in the area (not that there is much of a choice) I would recommend coming here. read more

Nice local sports bar. I love the build out of the bar itself. No matter what time or day we've visited there's been steady business. Our kids love looking through all the sports memorabilia on the walls, it's like an I Spy. The food is hit or miss. I had an awesome burger here last time, and we've come for just bar type apps before and been satisfied, but I didn't love my po boy. Lesson: stick to the sports bar classics and you'll leave happy. Food: This is definitely a restaurant that uses the microwave to reheat items. I stopped in for a simple burger and fries and was severely underwhelmed. These taste like the frozen patties from your local grocery store with absolutely no seasoning. The fries were soggy and the bread was stale and hard. I did takeout and they forgot the condiments but luckily I had some because I needed to deconstruct the burger and slather it in mayo to eat it. read more

Text me for a bar restaurant this is a very nice vocal spot. The wings are quite good and most of the bar food is just that really good greasy bar food. Steak salad is a medium quality with heavy iceberg lettuce and shredded cheddar cheese . You should however, now going to a bar for bar food that you were not getting gourmet level and I did not anticipate that!!! The servers are consistently good and very friendly, too familiar faces, as well as people there for the first time . I've eaten here once or twice before and just ate here again the other night. I live about eight miles east of here and I'm rarely over in Palmyra so I forget about it but after my last experience I won't wait so long to come back. They have a nice variety of food on the menu but I remember last year not being thrilled with a chicken quesadilla. That visit was with my dad and youngest sister and one or both of them got wings which looked so good I wish I had gotten them. On my most recent visit my dad and both got wings but I got twelve of the sweet bbq and these were some of the best wings I've ever had!! The sauce was so sweet it gave B-Dubs a run for their money! I wish there was some sort of wing/fry combo but it's okay that there isn't. After those wings I don't know that I want to try anything else. The place is clean, lots of sports memorabilia on the walls. I was surprised that it wasn't busier than it was on a Monday night. Food seemed to take a little longer considering it wasn't very busy but at least the server was great and kept checking on us. I'll be back soon! read more

Worst burger I've ever had in my entire life. They dressed the entire Buffalo chicken salad in Buffalo sauce, not just the chicken as the menu described. Our beers were flat. The chicken wings were boring. Everything tasted like it was fried together. The stale taste of pickles and shrimp lingered over all the food even though we didn't order either. I have been here twice now and although it's a sports bar, it's very family friendly..and I need forgiving surroundings with 3 little ones! When I had lunch we were 1 of only 2 or 3 tables so the server was very attentive. Both times I have eaten there the food has been great with large portions, though still a little pricy. The decor is awesome and gives it a very relaxed atmosphere. For my family it's probably the best dine in option at the lake. read more

This was our second visit. On our first visit, the burgers and service were good. On the second visit, the bacon on my burger was "beyond crisp!" It was burned. They forgot my onion rings. When I finally got my rings, they were so "greasy", I couldn't eat them. The waitress on our second visit was less than competent. She had a terrible attitude. I had to get up and ask for a second round of drinks. She did not check on our table during the meal. I had to ask for our check. "Hire better help!" OK, this was our third(and final) visit. 2 beef dip sandwiches and 2 glasses of wine; $ 42. We ordered fries, but got chips. We ordered (1) sandwich without onions and cheese. Both came with onions and cheese. When the waitress finally figured it out, our fries came when we were almost done. It's just not that good and certainly not for the money. Football and Wings are a MUST !!! Blue 53 did not disappoint on the wings. Got the Traditional wings with original BBQ and Teriyaki. Teriyaki wings ARE the bomb. Classic chicken wrap is a good staple and the Chicken Tender Basket according to 14 year old was "dope" which I'm told is good. The Wings Are Top Five in my book and I've eating a lot of wings. We got delivery, husband picked up and notes the staff was disorganized as three people went to pick up the food but the restaurant was packed. We will be back. Restaurant is a hit or miss. Our family tried to eat there Saturday, at 5pm. Walked in with 4 employees standing at podium. Took almost 5 minutes to be seated (only 2 tables had people seated). We waited an additional 10+ minutes for service. No one welcomed us. No water. No drinks. People walked past us without acknowledging us. We got up, walked out and went to Asian Cafe (next door). Went with a good-sized group, got the cowboy burger and blues manifesto brownie for dessert; first of all, take the rest of these reviews into consideration before you visit. Then, go visit! See for yourself. I went in there with 3.7-star expectations, and had a 5-star experience! The food was great, the waiter made great recommendations, they were attentive and prompt with refills, they have a decent craft beer selection on tap (and what looked like a full bar). 1st and last time going to Blue 53 in Palmyra. The worst service ever. Took 15 minutes for the waitress to acknowledge we were there. Another 20 meets to get our appetizer. After 40 minutes our food finally came. We had to grab another waitress and ask for the beverage and ketchup that we ordered. Our waitress never came back to the table and we had to ask another waitress for a box and the check. We shared that the waitress working the bar should not have a section of tables as we received no service. They shared our concern and our waitress came over to the table, stood there and just stared at us with an attitude. She never apologized, in fact acted as if we had a problem for sharing our concern about the service. It might have been worth all this craziness if the food was good but unfortunately the food was not good either. Would not recommend. Find another place to eat. read more

Not even sure where to begin. Everything from start to finish was a bad experience. I was so hoping for a decent restaurant in the Lake Monticello area, but this place is a terrible disappointment. When we were seated, the waitress took our order for sodas, handed us the menu, and never came back. After over 15 minutes, we actually had to flag her down to tell her we'd like to order food. If we hadn't done that, I doubt she would have ever come back at all. After we ordered, it took 20 minutes to get the appetizer. We ordered Teriyaki Wings, and when they finally got to our table they were over-cooked and dried out. Another 20 minutes later, our burgers came, and they were just terrible. The ground beef was tasteless and over-cooked, and there was so much iceberg lettuce on top that you could have made a freaking salad with it. What I think used to be a thin tomato slice was sitting in the middle somewhere, but it had gone to mush. So between the horrible service, waiting forever for our orders to get to the table, and the awful excuse for food, we won't ever be going back. If this place manages to survive at all, it's going to be solely from the profits from their booze bar. read more

The service this last time was HORRIBLE!!! The waitress finally took our order and told her we wanted "12 wings with medium sauce" and then she asked "how many wings?" And "what kind of sauce?" ...then told ER her a "The chicken salad with ranch dressing"...the ranch dressing came out but no salad...wings came out and they were good...but then she still tried to charge me $15 for a salad that was invisible...and there was barely anyone else eating. Took 10 min to get a glass of water... When I paid she took my card and went in the back and didn't come out for another 10 min and then finally rung us up...the waitress just tossed the check down and walked away pretty rudely...maybe cause I didn't wanna pay for an invisible salad... So new place to eat nice because there isn't a big selection around here but sketchy wait staff that seem to be under the influence of something...such a let down. read more

this was my third time coming to Blue 53 and I'd have to say I was pretty disappointed. First, the music was INCREDIBLY loud, my friend and I had to yell just to communicate to each other when we were sitting right across from each other. I assumed it was karaoke night or something when I walked in but no, the music just kept blaring at an excessively loud volume, I will say the DJ did have good music taste though. Secondly, both me and my friend's menus were disgusting. They were covered in dried food and were dingy, luckily there were others on the table that we used. Next, the staff didn't seem to be paying much attention to the customers because they were too busy dancing and singing with fellow workers and other customers, I get that it's nice to have a comfortable and care-free vibe in the restaurant but I had to wait over 15 minutes just to get my drink refilled and order made. THEN, onto the actual food, the wings were rubbery and tasted like there was no attempt at all to even make it SEEM like there was any preparation to them, it was like someone just threw frozen chicken wings into a microwave and slathered them in sauce and that was it, and the fries were hard like they had been sitting out for hours until someone ordered them. My friend did enjoy her burger though and the two other times I went before this was pretty decent, this visit in particular just left me and my friend very unsatisfied and feeling like we wasted our money. read more

This place has come a long way since it's opening. Like many, I was disappointed on my first visit. Service was sub par (putting it nicely), appetizer and food took way to long and were luke warm. I was satisfied with the quality of the food, however, just wish it would have been hot (shrimp appetizer was great, fried oysters were as expected). I left the restaurant with just an "eh" feeling. But understanding they were new, I vowed to give them another shot and was certainly glad I did. Service was much improved, food was quick and hot. The wings were fantastic! Better than BWW. Onion rings were hot and crispy. Fried mac and cheese was on point. I have been back 3 times since my first visit and haven't been disappointed. Great addition to the community. read more
