With all the storms and flooding near by this little tourist town has caused a slow down in business. Found this restaurant on Yelp and made a reservation online. Made the drive over, it's located in one of the areas with different businesses that is walkable. There is parking in lots around them. The place was smaller than we expected, had a relaxed comfortable charm. The weather was comfortable outside so we sat on the covered porch area on interesting heavy well made chairs. Arrived early so the place was relatively quiet Staff were very attentive. Their happy hour runs between 5 and 6, took advantage of the lower rate on two items. Husbands ordered the hamburger which was very juicy and had tasty add ons. It came with garlic fries that were delish. The Tapas we tried were the Spicy garlic shrimp on rice, roasted Brussel sprouts and cauliflower dish. All were delish, be warned the Shrimp dish is very spicy, we ordered a little bread to cut the heat. All in all we enjoyed our dining experience at Maya's.

We ordered Seafood Paella, Mushrooms appetizer. The second time we added different menu. Seafood Paella, added Shrimp Ajillo with fresh homemade bread, Arugula beets salad. The third time ( this time ) we added another different menu. The more we come, the more we can try new menu and enjoy new tastes. Honestly El Cielo, all menu we tried even wine and draft beers, were top class, I love to nominate as the best restaurant in Hawaii. I am so glad I found the great restaurant, I was seeking for. Prices were not bad, as inflation everything costs are so expensive nowadays. Everywhere!! Their services are great too. If I live close by I would go El Cielo once or twice a week. Thank you so much. I will love to come back soon again.

First time going to el Cielo, and it did not disappoint!…read more The food was great - most of the menu appears to be tapas style appetizers, so we got a bunch as well as a paella dish. Our favorites were the paella - it was lemony, bright, and had a generous amount of meat. The empanadas were also delicious and came with a homemade chimichurri sauce. We got these butterfish fritters (can't remember their name, oops) that came with a saffron aioli. The chicken liver mousse was tasty as well. While the pan con tomate was good, we got the plain one, and should have gotten it with ham! A lot of the food is served with airy, light, crusty homemade baguettes. The wine list is nice, mostly wines from Spain! I tried the Albarino and it was delicious. It is located on Lewers street, and has some nice iron wrought gates. We opted to sit on their outdoor patio, which had a lovely fountain and vibe going. Parking is kinda tricky - there's a lot in the back of the restaurant but it was full for us, so we street parked.

You can find Olili up inside Waikiki Market a grocery store in the Lilia Waikiki you just need to take the elevator up to the second floor and look for the "Restaurant" entrance and what a lovely decor as you feel like you're transported away form the city vibe. They were quite busy so we decided to take a seat at the bar and watching the bartender make drinks was quite impressive but the show was my Kilauea Chocolate Lava Cake that I ordered and they pour the rum fire on it that was a fun and cool experience and though it might have been brief it did make me smile enough to enjoy and am grateful that Nadine had brought me here as I was hesitant to do so. The service was very nice and prompt even though they were obviously busy they all kept it together and we enjoyed our night out and treats which is what is the most important of it all. Thank you!

However, when you're seated, you feel like you're in a nice restaurant, particularly if you have your back to the groceries. I started with the Herbs and Tonic cocktail. (I don't care for overly sweet cocktails, and this had a wonderful blend of herbaceous and tart flavors.) Basil, mint, shiso, lemon, tonic, and Tenjaku Gin. Surprising and refreshing. I chose to have a couple of starters and no main (something I often prefer when dining out). I got the Kanpachi Crudo, which was accompanied by lomi tomato relish, Thai basil, and Wai'anae citrus. So good. Light and packed with bright flavors. Contrasted with... Bone Marrow -- Honolulu beef bone, braised oxtail ragu, fermented chili crunch, Viet herbs, and grilled sourdough. A phenomenal overload of rich decadent flavors. For dessert, it was the amazing Okinawan Haupia "Mud" Bar -- layers of ube custard, macadamia nut crust, haupia sorbet, and shaved roasted sweet potato. Cold, sweet, and savory, with great textures. Excellent service from Crystal. And Jonathan at the bar became a friend of mine. A phenomenal meal and a wonderful experience. Pricy, but totally worth it.

The service was excellent and the food was good. Definitely a step above typical pub fair That said, I found it to be a bit excessive. The guests are charged for parking while actively patronizing the restaurants and businesses on site even more frustrating. If you don't properly scan and register your parking you will receive a $49 to start out with a ticket as my son unfortunately, learned the hard way. you think if you patronize an establishment they would validate your parking so you don't have to pay. As for the dining experience, monkeypod promotes a local farm to table concept, and the quality of the ingredients seem to support that the food was enjoyable and the Service was outstanding just be prepared for the price tag. Our Bill for seven people was around 500 so while it was good a good meal it certainly wasn't inexpensive. Overall, I recommend the monkey pod for atmosphere service and quality food. Just go in knowing that both parking and dining come in a premium.

There is an upstairs seating area that must provide some exceptional views, but it was closed during our visit. Our lunch was easily 5-star. We began with the Spicy Ahi Wontons. Fresh ahi with shallots, scallions, tobiko (Japanese caviar), and cabbage. This App was extremely complex with a hint of spice. Truly wonderful! For our mains we ordered the grilled mahi mahi and fish and chips. My mahi mahi was grilled to a moist perfection, and the brown butter sauce could have overwhelmed the fish, so I went light on the sauce. Their fish n' chips are not your traditional Irish bar offering. The fish was gently battered with panko and fried just right. Their homemade tarter sauce was absolutely delicious. They have a very interesting craft cocktail menu. My Ku'Ula-Kai Mai Tai was on point and perfectly balanced - sweet and sour. Plus 1's Aloalo Fizz reminded her of a Paloma, only made with vodka with a tropical twist. Service was attentive and knowledgeable regarding the menu and ingredients. We really appreciated the chill environment, beautiful view, and the welcoming ocean breeze. Pro tip: After dinner, head downtown to walk off your lunch/dinner and check out all the shops. Dessert? If you enjoy waiting in a long line, then the famous shaved ice shop is located there (IYKYK).

The corn was excellent and the ribeye was cooked really well. But the experience had some friction. The host stand felt unnecessarily rigid and disorganized. They would not seat us until the full party was physically standing there, even though the table was ready and the rest of our group was coming from parking. It left everyone awkwardly crowded up front with another party. Service was also slow. Drinks, napkins and basic follow up took too long. We ordered ribeyes and the knives didn't arrive until the steaks had already started cooling, which is a small thing that becomes a big thing when the kitchen actually did its part. The space is nice, but it gets hot and once it got darker the mosquitoes became a real problem. Bring repellent if you are going around sunset. Food wise, it was mixed but mostly good. The drinks were solid, the appetizers were strong and the ribeye was the best thing we ordered. The lobster salad was the weak point, more like boxed mixed greens with overcooked lobster than something worth ordering again. The kids' pizza felt frozen and heavy, but the kids were happy enough. I'd probably come back, but I'd come prepared. Mosquito repellent, patience with the front desk and realistic expectations on service.
