Server brought out the appetizers with the entrees, almost an hour after we ordered. He also forgot one of our entrees, and assured us it was on its way momentarily. 10min later (long enough to cook another serving), it arrived. The spinach artichoke dip was fantastic, but came with exactly eight tortilla chips. Eight. For four people. When we asked for more chips, he said he would have to charge us an additional $4 for an appetizer we'd already purchased for $16. Would we go there again? Yes. I came here with my dad for lunch on Father's Day, the view right on the water is amazing and the food was fantastic! The clams to start are so cheap and delicious. I got fish tacos and they were HUGE - very generous portions of fish, avocado, and fillings. My Dad got the Kalua pig and said it was good too! I mean this spot is directly on the water. Everything like cheap drink specials and reasonably priced food is a bonus. Is this the best food on Oahu? No, but again... you're on the water. A few things to note: You do drive through a military checkpoint where you have to show your id. Parking seemingly is limited. They claim to have a killer Bloody Mary. The space is huge - kind of like VFW vibes with an outdoor bar and seating area, and again, right on the water. My tequila cocktail was tasty and the poke nachos were solid, although I wouldn't order them again mainly just the cost and I'd rather of just had a poke bowl or a piece of fish. (They charged extra for avocado and jalapeños). The menu ranges from a bucket of Budweiser to fish and chips, to a sizzling steak and everything in between. Prices are reasonable for Hawaii and they have specials daily including karaoke Monday. This definitely seems like a locals spot. Post beach happy hour/meal? This could be your jam. read more

I've been a fan of Restaurant 604 near Pearl Harbor for many years and have been excited to see this local chain grow. This one really piqued my interest as it's right on the beach. I don't get to that part of the island often, but made a special trip to eat here and enjoy some drinks at sunset. Parking is on free, they have military-only stalls, but also a dirt area with plenty of room and a quick walk over. It's larger than it seems, with a big indoor room that would be great for events, a bar in the middle servicing inside and out, plus a big outdoor deck. It overlooks the beach and ocean; it's beautiful here. They have a large selection of local foods, happy hour specials, and special menus. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. I had the fish tacos, and loved the way the fish was cooked plus the sauces. Our server seemed to not be the one for the section, but was eager to please when she noticed we hadn't ordered. It was all good in the end. Beer and cocktail menus are pretty simple, prices reasonable. If you're on the Waianae Coast and are looking for a fun place for drinks and pupu, this is it! read more

We decided at the last minute to drive out to the Beach house, take in a meal and the sunset over the bay in Waianae. The place was partially full still early, as the evening went it filled up with diners. Turned out it was karaoke night, which drew some of the regulars to sing. We ordered our meals, both fish dishes. I ordered the Miso Butterfish which arrived beautifully presented. I enjoyed the taste, with the side of sautéed veggies mainly peppers. Husband ordered the Macnut Fish dish, which he enjoyed with chutney topping. The presentation was a little odd with an over abundance of broccoli that could have used a bit more time in the steamer. We mainly Like this restaurant for the ambiance, the sunset over the ocean, the open air seating. The Karaoke was fun, some talented singers and some braver than me. This must just be a tourist joint I thought to myself. I was displeased with the entire experience bedsides our waitress; Kenza who was phenomenal. I ordered a drink at the bar and Kayla didn't know specials menu. She handed me the regular menu and when I asked about happy hour she said there wasn't one. Our waitress was able to point us towards the correct information. The kids meals are over priced at $15 a plate. Kids eat free on Wednesdays though. The French fries were pretty good and definitely the most tasty sides at our table. When you walk by the front of the restaurant it smells like trash, sitting too close to the edge for the view was not the best seating due to the terrible trash smell that ruins your appetite (I realize it's the fly traps under the building now). Bianca the house supervisor was not the kindest and it didn't really make our stay feel welcome. It'll be interesting to return here again and give it another try. We visit the rest camp beach and enjoy this area for swimming and boarding over the other side of the lagoon wall. It's so close to not be a good place to grab a quick bite. read more

I went here on a recent trip after searching for interesting places on the West Side. The place came highly recommended from a friend, and the location seemed perfect. Parking was full for lunch, so we parked down the road a bit near the cabins. If you're not here early during the day you'll probably have to do the same. The property is beachfront with some amazing views, so we were excited to have to opportunity to have a nice lunch after a great hike. We walked in and unfortunately there was no one at the hostess stand nor would there be one for the next 10 minutes or so. Instead, we watched a group of servers around the bar talk for a while and finally approached them for a table when we saw we wouldn't be seated. The restaurant was only a third full on the patio side only. It would be around 15 more minutes before our server came around to get our order, and that would be the trend for the duration of our visit. Not once were we ever offered refills on drinks either. Regarding food at least, it turned out excellent. Choices consist of your standard beach and lunch fare. I opted for the fish tacos, and my companion chose the burgers. Both had a good return on value in terms of the quality versus the price. The fish tacos (3) consisted of mahi mahi with cabbage slaw, pico de gallo, and chipotle sour cream with lime wedges served with chips and red salsa. In essence, the food saved the review with the excellent combination of flavor. As for specials, they rotate daily and consist mostly of a variety of beer buckets and cocktails if you happen to be there on a day to take advantage of what you want to order. Overall, this place was hit or miss with the potential to be much more if the business can get the service portion right. We weren't the only ones to have trouble being seated either, so hopefully this is not a trend. read more

We met up with our family who lives in Waiʻanae, and this is their go to spot & now we totally get why! The atmosphere was full of good energy, with karaoke going on and everyone having a blast. Felt spoiled with the amazing beachfront views and some of the best food we had all vacation long. We make a point of eating at The Beach House resterant when we're vacationing in Hawaii. The ambience is traditional beach vibe, and the views are fabulous with frequent surfers present. The service is fast and efficient, and drinks are fabulous! The only downside is Parking, which can be a little tricky as the front parking lot is small and the rear parking lot on the opposite side of the building, isn't much larger. We've parked in the alley before, which can be treacherous as there's huge potholes that can be treacherous when driving a small rental car. read more

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times." That hoary cliche neatly encapsulated my last visit to the Beach House by 604. Hungry after our 2 hour dive in Makaha, 3 of us went to the Beach House for a late brunch. There are only about 10 parking stalls adjacent to the Beach House, so two of us had to park by the beach cabins on Herbert K. Pililaau Army Recreation Center. Despite the somewhat crowded restaurant, we got a table after about 10 minutes. In a few minutes, we ordered our food/drinks and waited. And waited...and waited...Finally my two friends received their drinks, so I thought, "surely mine will be here in a few minutes." No, wishful thinking! After about 15 minutes, I finally flagged a server named Kylee down and asked her about my drink. She checked, was very apologetic, and brought it to me- saying my drinks were on the house. So we were merry for a bit, and we started to really feel the drinks without any food. Generally when we dive most divers forego breakfast or eat something small like a granola bar, so after a 2 hour dive by brunch/lunch we're ravenous! Again we flagged Kylee to follow up on a our food order. Again she came back very apologetically, said there had been a mistake, the staff were short-handed that day, and the kitchen would start on our order as soon as possible. Shortly our food came. Have to appreciate that they let me order the keiki breakfast, consisting of 1 starch, 1 meat, & 1 egg. After all this time it really satisfied me and settled my growling belly! While we were eating, Kylee brought over her shift supervisor, Haley, they apologized again, and said that our entire tab was complimentary! Very nice of them! We calculated the value of the tab and left a tip for Kylee Yelp-style. Total time at the restaurant was nearly 3 hours, the rest of the tables turned over at least once while we were there! It's a short walk to the restaurant from parking outside the fence. We got seating where we can see the sunset and people surfing and swimming. Beautiful sunset by the way There was a stage and someone singing. I saw a bar. Staffs were sweet. Water tasted great. Foods tasted great. We got the Fire Grill Ribeye for $39. It was ok. I forgot to take pictures of the ribeye plate. But it came with broccoli and mash potatoes. We got the Green Salad for $9. This salad is like any salad anywhere. We got the Fish & Chip dinner for $20. It was ok too. The Fresh Sesame Poke Nacho was $26. It's ok. All of our foods were ok. But the entertainment was nice and the view was beautiful. read more
