I've had this place so many times and this is the worst sandwich I've had. It's normally good with large portions. I ordered a veggie like I usually do. It comes with cheese and avocado and whatever veg you want. Well as you can see from the sandwich I had a tiny piece of avocado and no cheese (which I asked for provolone). Workers seemed extremely tired and like they didnt want to be there. Would have went back in to get the CVeese and show them them the pathetic piece of avocado but already got home! The chips that expire in December were also stale. What is happening?! Disappointed.
This place was bought out and used to be called Aloha Subs. When I first tried it I wasn't sure about it. But over time this place has improved. The sandwiches are tasty. Have many options. I usually stick with the Turkey Plus which has bacon and avocado in it. The serving size is huge. A half is 4 pieces! Inside is small and can only fit about 7 people. Staff are friendly.
Sophie (10) + Katie: Turkey + We shared a half a sub and it was plenty of food! The avocado and bacon were scarce but the flavor was good overall. Josie(13) + Marc: Wahiawa They shared a whole sub and had leftovers! Marc really enjoyed the flavor. The papaya seed dressing added a hint of sweetness. Stopped for lunch after seeing some positive reviews. We scanned the menu on the wall and made our selections. The staff was friendly and our to go order was prepared quickly. Lots of fun surfer paintings and things on the wall to look at while you wait. I had a Reuben and it was great. I usually ask for extra sauce but forgot. Happy to say there was enough so I was disappointed. My son tried an Italian cold sub and really liked it. We both said this is a spot we would return to.
My coworker brought some sandwiches back to work and I swear the biggest subs Ive ever seen! The best part was smelling that bread. The fresh bread smell was everywhere so I had to go get a sandwich too. Especially after one of my coworkers said "Dang - this is better than Storto's!" Well gauntlet thrown down! I got the Paradise and my husband got the pastrami. Both were generous with the meat and again with the bread...soft, chewy and smelled so good!Their half sandwich is a full sandwich everywhere else! The service is excellent. Very nice ladies and very helpful as everything on the menu looked great! they also have beautiful artwork by local artists on the walls.

Emphasis on the crispy bacon because it has been consistently crispy every time! Yum! I always get their papaya seed dressing with it. It's sweet and tangy. My hubby gets El Niño, Koko Crater, or Italiano. He loves salami and all 3 of these sandwiches include salami along with other meat combos. They do have a HUGE menu so no matter what you're craving, they probably have a sandwich for it! They also have cooked meats like Philly cheesesteak, meatball, and pastrami if you aren't into cold cuts. I just say, these sandwiches are also HUGE! The half order is enough for 2 meals! You also get at least 3oz of meat! For around $10-$12 for a half order, that's a good deal! Their bread is always fresh and are huge both in length and width. It's always soft and a bit sweet which I love! What really stands out is the customer service. The cashier was very informative and patient with us as we were deciding what to get. They're also on Door Dash so it's really convenient to get delivery! Just don't forget to add ALL the veggies and dressing you want even if it says in the description veggies included because one of my hubby's coworkers didn't select any and only got bread and meat. Overall, this is our new go to place when we're craving a good hefty sandwich.
Great spot if you're looking for subs to eat at or to pack with you on your way to North Shore! The portions are really good, when you order a half it's equivalent to a footlong from subway. They have a great menu that serves a nice variety of cuts of meat and the bread is fresh and soft. Come by and give them your business
Went to Ohana Sub for the first time after it changed its ownership, prior it was called Aloha Sub. The sun sandwich is not bad, but cannot compare to Aloha Sub. First of all, the bread is not the same as it used to be. Before, it was soft, airy, and tasty...which is the most important part of any sandwiches. You can tell from the color of the bread. The filling is not that bad either. Ohana Sub aren't that generous with their meat and veggies like how Aloha Sub used to be. Customer service was good and the restaurant was clean. 5 stars if they improve their bread quality and portions

Decent sub and tasty, liked the bread a lot, too. Lots of veggies and good portion of meat (got the sunset). My 16 year old loves it and asked me to bring him (my first time). I thought it was quite pricey but I also know orange man has everything more expensive. $15 for a half and $30 for a whole which is kinda wild huh? While aunty smiled the whole time, I couldn't help but feel she had a bad attitude towards me - she spoke softly and I can barely hear so she maybe didn't like me asking her to repeat herself, lol - but I kept it friendly and moving. I'd get my son a half again but for me, one and done. read more

This place went down hill! Use to be my go to sandwich spot whenever I was in the area but now the quality and service has gone down completely. Ordered a veggie sandwich and it was mainly just cheese, onions and dressing. U wud think they wud put a normal amount of veggies since there's no meat but I guess they got hit with the inflation bug. Definitely won't be coming back. read more

I ordered a whole Italiano with mayo, mustard and papaya and added avocado. For $30+ it is long and flat, minimal veggies and dressing. The avocados are brown!!! So disappointing. read more

Having a sandwich is how you spread joy all around and here at Ohana Sub, they certainly knows how it's done! All sandwiches are made fresh to order and you choose the base from "Original" or "Special" subs selections. After scanning the menu it was Fiji 808...somehow it just got me with bologna. Then to the left of the menu are the add on... Veggies - lettuce/tomato/onions/peppers/sprouts Dressings - Mayo/mustard/papaya seed/Italian/thousand isl/ranch Cheese - provolone/cheddar/pepper jack/swiss/Monterey It seems they have only one type of bread but it certainly works it's light and not all bread works great to hold all the yumminess so you don't make yourself a hot mess. I had my Fiji 808 with lettuce and tomato, papaya seed dressing and Mayo with pepper jack cheese yum!! There are a few tables for seating but I decided to take it outside in the alley that's beautiful brightly painted semi-private spot to chill. I Love their sandwich it had all the right amount of everything and would definitely be back though the parking situation is the real struggle as the lot in the back they share with many others is nowhere enough...but then again what is? Just terrible. Ordered a veggie sub. Comes with avocado. This is the avocado i received in the picture. Just terrible that someone making a sandwich would think this is ok. Not ok!! And also not going back to eat there ever again. read more

Sorry to report that the quality was poor. Seems like the place has gone down and when I showed up tit was empty. Ordered a turkey and avocado with bacon. See the attached picture. Not worth the price they charge. read more

Don't tell me you can't see the layer of meats here ! Why choose one type , when you can have all? With two locations in aiea and Wahiawa Ohana subs is serving up super sized sandwiches that will leave you feeling stuffed ! All of their sandwiches are made to order so you know it's fresh , and you're given the option of a half or whole sandwich. Half being literally half a loaf of a bread and whole being a whole loaf. Honestly you could get a half sandwich and share with a friend or loved one or save it for later or get the whole sandwich and feed your family, that's how big these sandwiches are. So delicious and will really hit the spot for those of you craving a good sandwich . Go check them out if you haven't already! read more

I must really just have bad luck with this place because everyone seems to be giving 5 stars and I wish I could. I've only visited this place twice and both times they were out of something. First time they were out of lettuce and sprouts. Most recent visit they were out of sprouts. Both occasions I've come in the mid afternoon so not like it's close to closing time where I could understand if they were out. Both times I ended up going to Foodland up the road to buy me lettuce and sprouts to finish off my sandwich. Other than that, service is really quick, bread is so soft and fresh, and they give a very nice amount of meat! Half A sandwich is more than enough for one person for a meal. Good amount of parking in the back lot and looks like they even have a second lot. I'm still planning to give this place another shot. read more

OMG! These subs are possibly the best I've had on the island. The half size is bigger than any other sub I've had yet. The meat is fresh delicious the sauces are perfectly oh no. Just write amount of veggies fresh crispy who could ask for more. But you can do add-ons if you want more. Or get the foot long if you're really hungry or want to split it. I got the Italian half sub. The bread is fluffy and delicious. Enjoy. read more

Lunch in Wahiawa, Oahu, Hawaii... Thanks to Amy M., I got a free sandwich from Aloha Subs in Wahiawa. Amy gave me a Gift Certificate worth $10 and it covered an Adam Sando... it's the most popular sandwich here! It had turkey, bacon, avocado, fresh veggies, mayo, honey mustard, and papaya seed dressing! It's no wonder why the pink butcher paper was damp by the time I arrived home. The liquids had soaked through a bit. Maybe the sandwich can be wrapped in waxed paper first? Well, the sandwich tasted great (from the bacon and cheddar cheese) anyways! The crunchy veggies gave the sando a less guilty feeling! Note: There used to be an Aloha Subs in Kaneohe... not anymore. Other locations include Waianae, Kapolei, Downtown Honolulu, and Aiea. PARKING: There's free street parking and also a shared parking lot in the back - around the corner I'd go back - if I was in Wahiawa again - and maybe try a different sandwich combination...like the Sandy Beach or the Hawaii Five-O! read more

Sandwich was made fresh and to order by friendly workers! Great portions and the price was affordable! Great sandwich with a very "stortos" taste with the papaya dressing! About a year ago the Aloha Subs in Aiea abruptly closed as the owner died and the lease/franchise couldn't be transferred to his fiancé. We lost a family favorite and started searching and trying different sub sandwich places. Unfortunately we were not able to find one we loved like the Aiea shop. Then, one morning as I was going to get some Uber tarts I parked on Kam Hwy in front of Vintage and was walking to the end of the building when I saw the sign for Aloha Subs, peeked inside and saw the same menu on the wall as the Aiea location. Making a mental note to return as it was too early for them to be open I continued on my quest for tarts. Moving forward several months my family was discussing dinner options and I remembered seeing this shop so I promised I would make the journey to Wahiawa to get the beloved sammies. Figuring an hour each way and a half an hour for the sandwiches I promised to be home by dinner. Surprise surprise it doesn't take an hour to get to Wahiawa from Halawa. Down the hill, hop on the freeway, less than 10 minutes past Costco and I was there. Ordered the exact same subs as I used to order at Aiea shop (notes in my phone for each person's fav). One Makaha and two Kelly Slaters. Twenty minutes I was back in my car for the drive home. Needless to say I'm a heroine! Family was overjoyed to get their favorite subs back on the dinner rotation. The shop seems to be a family run business with the owner taking the orders and collecting the payments and two worker bees making sandwiches. There are 7 or 8 tables that allow you to sit while your order is being put together or eat in if you chose. Parking is on the street or accessed behind the building in a large lot with a walk through between shops. If you're familiar with the Aiea location the pricing is the same. If you need another reason to drive there's always a stop two block further to pick up brownies at Kilani bakery or Uber tarts in the same building. read more

Wow such a sweet surprise. I was working in the area and wanted a quick bite to eat. Had a Turkey sandwich. I order the half and it was gigantic. Saving half of half for dinner. Clean. Friendly. Fresh and Fast. Great little find. Highly recommended read more
A highly disappointing sandwich since my last visit here (roughly two years ago-I usually go to the one downtown). I'm not sure if they've changed ownership, but the sandwich as a whole isn't as great as it used to be. Let me tell you my thoughts... I've been getting this sandwich for a decade (and then some years), about the time I became obsessed with Stortos and was also a poor college student. I usually get the Diamondhead which has pepperoni, salami, and turkey. To this I ask for all of the veggies. Then I add avocado and jalapeños. To top it off I ask for light mayo, deli mustard, and papaya seed dressing. This is a tall, majestic sandwich that is exploding with veggies, meat, and sweetness. That is not what I received. What was wrong with my sandwich: I received ZERO sprouts, my favorite veggie on this mammoth of a sub. That just made me sad. Then the $1.75 avocado I added had 3 of the thinnest sliced pieces I'd ever seen. Most likely equivalent to 1/3 of the smallest avocado you'd ever bought. To top off my disappointment it took about 30 minutes to receive my sub. Never has this happened to me at any store, including this one. And it wasn't very busy. All of the Aloha Subs on the island and the Stortos shops use the same products, thus why they taste the same. Or should. What my sandwich was lacking is a simple fix but shouldn't have ever happened, nor been overlooked. Since this experience I'm not sure I'd come again. read more
