Los Comales is a food kiosk located outside the food court in Schofield Barracks. When I stopped by there was one gentleman running the booth. We ordered 2 burritos and a tamale. One burrito was chicken with green sauce. The burrito itself is about a foot long. Filled with your choice of protein (steak or chicken), rice, beans, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and choice of red/green sauce. The red sauce had a little kick and a nice flavor. The green sauce didn't have much flavor. The other burrito was steak with red sauce, this was the better of the 2 according to hubby and son. I had a pork tamale. It was decent. There was a good amount of meat but not enough in comparison to the tamale. All in all good food, decent price and I would return. read more

It's a typical food truck set up and I was hungry before heading out for the afternoon and they were at the right place at the right time. I ordered a veggie burrito plate and hubs ordered a chicken quesadilla. Our order was quickly ready, that's great! The flavor, sigh... it was meh; I expected much more in the way of flavor. (It was bland) The refried beans had cheese (after I asked for no cheese on anything, so I didn't eat those) The size department for the quesadilla was definitely not worth the price. Unfortunately they forgot the chicken on it so a double whammy there. I was going to grab a pic but he was finished with that tiny thing before I could take one! LoL! Location: It is a food truck located in Schofield out of the PX. Price: Most plates averaged $11. They accept cash and card. Every Tuesday, you can get $1 tacos from a certain time. That's a great deal! Food: It's a Mexican food truck. The menu is pretty simple. We ordered the taco plate and a burrito plate. The plates came with rice and beans. Tacos with steak are good! I highly recommend. It had green sauce on it and it was delicious. The burrito plate was okay. You can also order food a la carte. I ordered a steak grande burrito and it was bombbbb!! It was hefty and had the perfect amount of spice. The meat was tender and perfectly seasoned, and the beans and rice were delicious. I'm from SoCal, where we are known for being Mexican food snobs lol, so I am very picky when it comes to the flavor and consistency of steak/carne asada burritos. This place checked all my boxes! The guacamole was tasty as well and the pico de gallo had the perfect balance of flavor too. The burrito was big enough for my husband and I to share, but we will each be getting our own next time because we want to have some leftovers and it was so good, that I don't want to share again lol Highly recommend for a quick lunch! read more

It seems like their menu is hit or miss. The burrito was not good, no flavor at all. But the pork tamal itself was good. I've never seen a tamal be served with all the toppings they put on it, so I just scooted that off of it, and it was decent. Nice people, but I don't think I'll be spending my money there again though. read more

The quality of food lacked. We ordered 2 steak taco plates- they weren't worth the price. Our tacos had ground beef.. mostly jalapeños and salsa. Beans were just sprinkled with shredded mozzarella cheese. The rice was ok. Tacos were also salty, and the cheese on the beans made the whole bite saltier. Mexican food is one of my favorites. I miss the days of having the food truck one block away from where I lived cooking tacos and burritos at 12 am. The aroma was intoxicating. Yep I used to stuff my face after work past midnight. Lol well the hubs had to do a few errands on base and it was past lunchtime. That means we are grabbing food somewhere. He mentioned that he ate a few tacos sold out of a little shack, and thought I would like to try it out. I perused the short menu and opted for the chicken burrito plate. It came with a side of rice and refried beans. Our order was ready within 5-10 minutes. I poured some hot sauce over it and we both brought it home to devour. The presentation was standard nothing fancy. My initial reaction when I took a bite out of the burrito was that it was ok. It was filling since the meal consisted of a lot of starch from the tortilla. I thought there was lack of chicken and more filling of the rice. Unfortunately, the side of rice and beans were bland. Overpriced for what you get. The "grande burrito" is more like a "pequeña burrito" and it tasted like something I could've whipped up at home in 5 minutes. The rice had zero flavor, and you get one tiny thing of salsa. The quesadilla was very small as well. The service is okay, but they could be a bit more welcoming. Save your money and drive the extra 20 miles to Surf n' Salsa in Haleiwa and it'll be your new favorite place on the island to eat at. read more

We decided to hit this food truck to support small businesses. I had the veggie burrito which had pinto beans, pico de gallo, avocado, rice. It would have been so much better if it didn't have so much rice. My friend had the grande steak burrito and he had the same comment....it would have been so much better if it didn't have so much rice. He was disappointed because he had very little steak. All in all, we would still recommend and if you get a burrito, maybe ask for less rice unless you love rice. read more

Waited 30 min for tacos on taco Tuesday....poor excuse for tacos.. and yes I'm Mexican and was expecting a lot more but this was ridiculous...baby tortillas with like 4 pieces of meat and cheese and salsa ‍ if they weren't a dollar each. I would've took them back. Very disappointed, would not recommend for taco Tuesday. Better off going to Taco Bell. read more

Legit Mexican rice. Amazing tacos, prefect amount of heat. However my reason for docking a star is the amount and price. On a hungry day I could probably eat two taco plates (one plate comes with two tacos and rice and beans) and I'm 105 lbs. he's a very nice man and food is good if you're looking for Mexican on post. read more

The tacos were really cold if they had them already prepared. They don't add enough meat to the tacos. This is not an authentic Mexican food. The steak tacos is shredded beef and the chicken tacos taste like boiled chicken. read more

Let me be veery honest by saying that I was very hesitant to order anythi g from here. I couldn't help myself though! LoL I ordered the burrito grande. It was amazing!! I needed no sauce. It wasn't dry. It was so flavorful and filling. I've Aalto had the carna asada tacos. They were pretty yummy as well. They don't have a large selection to choose from. But sometiimea less is more. read more

Your options for Mexican food is very limited here in Hawaii. This is the best Mexican establishment here on Schofield Barracks but doesn't compare to the Mexican spots in the states. Their tacos are smaller than usual on taco tuesday. most of my encounters, i've had to wait a while for my food after ordering. they have a good selection on their menu and they also have a seating area. read more

Sorry but to be blunt the food here is gross. I'd rather eat at Taco Bell than come to this place again. Husband and I both got the quesadilla plate, one chicken one steak. The chicken was bland and gross, the beans were watery and had a little cheese on them, zero salt, rice? Was the best thing on the plate. Serving sizes are small, the guacamole had green peppers in it, gross, the salsa tasted fishy. I won't be coming here again. read more

Came here during lunch, there was no line and I got my food quicker than expected. I ordered the chicken taco plate that comes with rice and beans. I got the plate instead of tacos a la carte because I was really craving refried beans, like the ones in the photo on the menu. So i got my plate and there were no refried beans, they gave me the whole beans. When I asked why I didn't get refried beans they said that sometimes they don't have exactly what's in the picture so they substitute items. That's not how you do business folks, please tell me if you don't have what I reasonably expect to receive based on your menu. The amount of chicken on the two tacos is what I would normally expect on one taco, and the tortillas were stale. read more

I had the Grande Steak Burrito from this place and found it to be quite good. It is tucked away close to the Class Six and PX on Schofield Barracks. I guess I have pretty high bar when it comes to Burrito stands like this living on the west coast for the last 2 years, however I found this one to exceed my expectation and was very tasty. Interesting little place that can be easily missed because it is sort of on the side of the parking lot by itself. They do have a small seating area under a tent so if it is not busy it does make for a decent place to sit and enjoy your grub. They have a generator running that isn't too loud but it does prevent it from being serene as one could hope to achieve on the side of a parking lot. As for the food, it comes with relative speed. I got the tamales one of each meat offering when I was there. I will say they were good enough that I will probably get them again when I need a tamale fix at work for lunch. However, they weren't amazing either. Just solid food and a decent price. I will probably be back. read more

They put almost no chicken or steak in their burritos. On Taco Tuesday they ask if you want small tacos for a $1 or regular for $3, who switches the size on taco Tuesday... better off making the drive to EL Ranchero read more

I will not return. When i got my plate i had to open it cuz it was so light. I opened it and was not even a cup of rice or beans. Advertise tacos not street taco. I was expecting reg size tacos. The sour cream was water. Didn't use it i was to scared. Both employees had mask but not using them properly they had them below the chin while i was ordering. Stay clear of this place not worth the money or stomach ache u might get!! read more

Ive always loved the food here and I really loved the older couple that worked here. However, I guess there was a recent change in employment and now new people work here and they've gotten my order wrong almost every single time. My husband goes frequently as well and they've always gotten his order wrong several times even though we CLEARLY state the order we want and when we come back for a correction, we get treated like we're dumb and that we didn't order what we CLEARLY stated. The younger woman that works at the register is rude, seems like she's high, and I guess is deaf. We refuse to deal with this any longer and will no longer go to Los Comales. It's a damn shame because the food is delicious. read more

I happened to be in the Waipio area, a rarity for me, and decided to see what might be worth taking back home. I had never heard of Acapulco but was in the mood for Mexican grinds and when yelpers Fran and Gail reviews popped up, I knew this was one to try. They have indoor and outdoor dining options. Both spaces are very clean. I ordered two plates to go. Both plates came with rice and beans which were delicious. The gave a nice quantity of food. My meal of choice was the combo chili relleno and a beef enchilada with the red sauce. Both were delicious and did not get drowned out by the sauce and cheese. Excellent balance and taste. With gas prices being what they are, coming here is only going to happen when I'm in the area. But the delicious taste will make me think hard for any excuse to get to Acapulco restaurant when I'm in the mood for Mexican grub.

I've moved over 60 times in my life and have eaten at multiple michellin rated restaurants, and I've only left about 2 or 3 reviews for restaurants. But please, please, please believe me when I say, the food here is PERFECT. The seasoning, the quality, every bite full of flavor and culture. This is THE BEST mexican on oahu, and could hold it's own even in the mainland. Please do yourself a favor and treat yourself to the food here. If you enjoy full bursting flavor in every bite and hate bland food. Then you OWE it to yourself to try this! Why the rating isn't a perfect 5 stars, I don't know, but I wish I could give this restaurant 10000 stars for the joy that their cooking has consistently brought me. Given her review of the tacos, we'd likely stop for tacos but I'm not sure we would try the burrito again.
