This is my second positive review of Blue Apple Dental. I have been with them for many years and always found their staff and services to be of the highest quality. Dr. Lieu is the best you can find and Hygienist Linda has been the best at her profession as well. Also, a high quality front office staff member is crucial to your billing accuracy and Elizabeth is fantastic. I got a little worried a month ago when they suddenly dropped my Delta Dental coverage, but I just found out it's back! I'm glad Dr. Lieu reconsidered this for so many of us, as they are the largest dental carrier for millions of civil service workers. I should've written this review earlier, but oh well. I don't have a lot to say, except that I had to go back to Blue Apple Dental five times after Dr. Styles filled my cavities because something was still wrong with it. I remember that they couldn't the filling on my teeth all the way down , so it was still sharp and was catching my tongue and making me uncomfortable. And my teeth were in pain. In the end, Dr. Styles fixed it all so I was happy about it. I also was happy that they were willing to see me that many times to fix what they had done wrong. But still, was not happy about going there so many times after all. Overall they are I would give this office 3.5-4 stars for sure! read more

Let me start by saying Nicole can't say enough good things about Dr. Liu and Dr. Styles. They really are the best at what they do. I was afraid to go back to the dentist after a long time not going. I knew my teeth were in not great shape and would need work. I went because my family suggested going there. The waiting room is clean and bright. There's chairs and a small couch to sit. There's the receptionist, Vicki, who always seems to remember everyone. Everyone remembers all the guests that come in. The desk tells you how long the wait will be, and after your visit, the girls will go over what to expect when paying, insurance will cover. They're flexible when scheduling, give reminder emails, texts and calls. I haven't come across any person in this dental office that isn't friendly, communicative with you if you are waiting in the back room. I bring my daughter here and she gets Nicole. She does both of our cleanings. She is so patient with my 5 year old. And tells my daughter jokes to make her smile and fee comfortable. read more

I am very impressed with all of the staff at Blue Apple Dental. I needed an urgent appointment and was accommodated within 2 hours. The hygienist (Shellie) was super sweet and understanding. Dr Lieu provided me with a clear explanation of the work I needed done and a plan to achieve what was most necessary. It's always a pleasure to review these guys because as healthcare professionals, businesspeople, and customer service providers, this is about as good as it gets. I doubt that Joe Millionaire gets any better care and user-friendly experience than I receive from Dr. Anthony Lieu and his associates. I've been a patient of theirs for many years, and it just keeps getting better. Their custom-built little building on State Farm Drive, three minutes from the freeway, doesn't look like anything special. But once you step in the door it's like going 20 years into the future. Their facility and equipment is state of the art. The staff is organized, skilled, genuinely friendly, and on the ball. They are expert at navigating insurance issues. They play good music throughout the building. You watch cool, interesting nature & scenery scenes on an overhead flatscreen while you're in the chair, for distraction and relaxation. They use lasers, sonic, and 3D printing equipment as well as the traditional steel tools. Good people, helping people, and making dental visits reassuring instead of scary. They took a casting of his teeth BEFORE even discussing options. That did not happen. They took him back. They did not consult him before they did the things they did. At the end they tell him he needed to come back next week (whaaaat?) so they can figure out what his options are, and tells him he has $190 balance which I told him NOT TO PAY. Are you kidding me? I'm sorry, is the next patient here for you to screw over already?? ***It's a good thing I told him not to pay that bill. I got a statement from the insurance yesterday. It states we only have to pay $125 of that visit. PICTURE PROVIDED in review. ***So honestly, my faithful readers....If you have a butt - ton of money, You don't care how it's spent....This is your place. They did get him in within 24 hours. That should've been a red flag. Desperate times call for desperate measures and I was tired of hearing Scott whine like a little girl. This visit was a grim reminder....Always do realistic research. I cannot express how happy I am with Dr. Lieu and everyone at the Blue Apple dental group. Backstory: I was a patient for many years and about 5 years ago, had all my silvers changed to white fillings by Dr. Lieu. I have high anxiety and am probably the worst patient when it comes to getting work done. My job transferred me to SF/Oakland and I kept up with cleanings at random places for the next 4 years. I needed some work done but had too much anxiety to do it, and it was EXPENSIVE. This week: A bike ride through Napa found me face first on the concrete and I chipped my front canine tooth. I left it for about a week and then finally made an appointment with Dr. Lieu. I called other places (because I thought I wouldn't be able to afford his new beautiful high-tech office), and was told I would need a crown. Anxiety sets in. I went to my appointment with Dr. Lieu and had the best time, no joke. Brooke (who was so so good, and sweet!) took impressions with a scanning camera, and all my X-rays - oh also, they let me know what the cost would be for that before hand. When Dr. Lieu came in he checked out the chipped tooth he said he can fix it on the spot! Someone then came in and let me know what that would look like financially, I was comfortable with it and consented. Not even twenty min later, my smile was fixed! Not only is Dr. Lieu a rockstar, he is fair. I felt like he had my best interest in mind when coming up with a plan, and considered all angles of approaching what I still need to get done. Some insurance plans are taken and they offer an in-house plan as well. I will be making the commute for sure, because its worth it. I also remember that once during another exam, the dentist complimented Dr. Lieu's work from many years before! REGARDING COVID - Wait in your car and call when your appt. time comes up. Temperature is taken when you go in. I think there was another patient there in the opposite side (I don't think they schedule patients at the same time). It smelled very clean inside, and there is an air purifier in the lobby. I felt very safe. read more

Just finished having my fillings done by Dr. Lieu and his team. They did a great job and I am extremely happy with my visit. I was a little apprehensive going into the appointment after my friends told me horror stories filled with pain and suffering when they got their cavities filled. I expressed these concerns and the staff was super reassuring and explained they have a gel they use before the shot and an instrument to administer the shot, both were designed to make me more comfortable. I got the shot and although I could feel a slight poke (which is normal in my experience) everything else went smoothly. They stopped and asked if I wanted to take breaks or to check in on how I was doing. The 4 fillings were done in a little over an hour and they gave me some tips on how to improve my day to day maintenance. All in all, they professional, friendly, approachable, and top notch. I was having a lot of tenderness and some pain on the upper left side of my mouth for a while. I told the receptionist about it and she said she was going to get me right in and she did! A year ago I began dental care at Blue Apple. Dr Lui was the dentist who completed me initial exam, thoroughl. He sat down, spoke to me about the exam, and explained the care plans with me. He expressed a caring attitude in the following appointments. The dental assistant and hygienest were also kind and thorough. The front office receptionist was also helpful. During the last two hygiene visits Nicole explained her findings and provided recommendations for dental care. On October 14 2021 Dr Styles saw me for my annual dental exam after Nicole did X-rays and hygiene cleaning. Dr Styles, gave little eye contact, only spoke to me about needing crowns based on X-rays, she did not do an oral exam, did not sit down, spoke fast and was visibly rushed. I have been to the dentist for 61 years since age 5. I have always had dental plans. I know what a comprehensive oral exam by a qualified dentist entails. I know more what professionalism entails. I have been a Heathcare provider for 40 years, and have to admit that basic respect for others is not part of the human equation anymore read more

Went to 2appts. The second was to discuss pricing. The final number was 27,000 and possibly less? Contract was emailed and stated 37,000. I called and was given new price 30,000 and double talk. Waste of my time. Also consulted other dentist and was told total upper extraction not necessary and most of my teeth can be saved. So?????? The difference is too extreme. I am forced to believe even if both are not correct where is in between and what is the true price? read more
