I went here for years, and several times had to wait 20-30 mins in the waiting room. I started bringing my computer so I could work if they were running late. well I had an appointment today and was running late but told them I'd be there 12 mins late. They texted me at 10 minutes and said too bad, it was a failed appointment. funny they can be super late all the time, but not me one time when I've been on time for years. *I will update with someone did call me from the office to hear how they can improve, and I do appreciate that. This is a business that has earned their 5 star rating thus far. Everyone from my oral hygienist to my dentist were the perfect blend of attentive as well as knowledgeable, and my dentist realized that i'm the type of person that likes hearing the technical details and adapted his communication style to that on the fly. He gave me a fair representation of what dental issues I had were pressing and time sensitive versus what ones could wait until it's a more convenient time for me to address them, they gave me a wonderful cleaning, in a spotless and modern looking office, and everyone I interacted with were pleasant and attentive. My girlfriend has been telling me to go to this dentist for months, and now that my previous dentist finally retired I took the leap of faith; and I don't regret it at all. Unfortunately, since my last review, CDW has disappointed us in the care of my wife. She originally had X-rays done for her initial visit before starting a deep clean and preventative dental care regimen. After experiencing much pain from the deep clean and removal of a tooth, the last straw came when biting into a burrito caused a cracked tooth in the very front top of her mouth. She reached out to a different dental practice, they took the same type of X-rays that CDW had taken previously! That dentist showed her the X-rays as well as some fractures in the teeth that were approximately 45 years old due to a childhood trauma that my wife experienced when she was a little girl. CDW and its deep cleaning practices exasperated the fractures and possibly caused more damage to the already damaged teeth. CDW may want to take a closer look at the opening X-rays before they move forward with a new patient. We have definitely moved on from CDW read more

First few appointments went really well. But eventually I had to get a mouthguard and due to problems in the mouth we agreed that it would be for my bottom teeth. When it came time to make the cast, team started measuring the top and I had to remind them that we said it was for the bottom. When I go in to get the mouthguard, it is for the top and causes massive discomfort. When I explain what was discussed, They say the dentist will be right in to talk to me. I then find out the dentist is not even in and they want to make another appointment, at my own inconvenience, in order to fix their mistake. It sucks because I really enjoyed going to them, but after this experience, it is clear that they cannot take the time to ensure That patient is receiving proper care. read more

Today was my third visit to Cotati Dental Wellness (2 cleanings and a filling replacement since last Fall) and I continue to be impressed and appreciative of the entire team!! Very friendly, thorough, and professional in all aspects of the care they provide, and the team is well versed on the up to date equipment they use!! Appointments can be scheduled starting at 7 AM if you need an early start. My cleanings so far have been completed in under 30 minutes and the filling replacement last Fall was about 45 minutes at the most. As a military spouse, I move around the country a lot, and the worst part is finding new dentists at each location. I have had some terrible dental experiences leaving me in tears, keeping me from seeing dentists for years at a time. I was terrified the next dentist would be a bad one....recently we moved to Petaluma and I couldn't go any longer without getting dental work ,and unfortunately the dentist I went to see was the WORST yet, but I still needed a lot of work done. I took a leap of faith and tried Cotati Dental and they have set the bar to a whole new level of for me!!! They are AMAZING!!!! EXTREMELY talented, gentle and kind. I have not one bad word to say about this practice. I have yet to feel one second of pain not even the needle during injection of Novacane. They also are very conservative in their work. Instead of jumping straight to root canals and crowns they choose to save your tooth and nerve. After 2 very big cavities filled I am pain free with teeth intact. Previously I was told I would have needed root canals. On top of all this awesomeness I felt comfortable asking them today if there was a way to fix my two chipped front teeth.... Not only did they exam the issue during an appointment for unrelated teeth, they went ahead and fixed them right there and I left with so much more confidence in my smile! I cannot thank Dr. Sarah & all the hygienists/assistants (especially Margie) enough for their time, patience and love they put into their work. I know I'm in great hands for the next 4 years & I hope this review help's connect other people like me whose experiences have left them scared of seeing a dentist and they too can feel as at ease in the hands of Cotati Dental!! I had my first visit today with Dr Sarah Kwong and I must say that I had an excellent experience. When I walked in, the office was nice and clean. It had an elegant yet modern aesthetic. I was greeted by the front office and was taken to the room right away. I noticed that the room was neat, organized and had updated equipments. The RDA was very polite and reassuring when she was taking my x-rays. Dr Sarah was very thorough during her exam and had a clear treatment plan by the end of it. You can tell that she's smart and knowledgeable in what she does. The front office also printed the treatment plan for me with a clear breakdown of the fees including insurance coverage. I appreciate the transparency so much due to some bad experience with my past dentist. The only thing that could've gone better for my experience was doing my cleaning and treatment the same day. However, I understand they may be busy at the moment and had to schedule for another day. My husband had a more urgent treatment he needed to do and it was done the same day. I am so thrilled with my dentist that I feel compelled to write a review! I saw Dr. Varlakova yesterday for a 2 and a half hour appointment. I have severe anxiety about the dentist and my anxiety prevents me from getting regular dental care. I needed to replace a broken 30 year old crown and needed a cavity filled at the gum line. Dr. Varlakova was kind, compassionate and gentle. The appointment was pain free. It was long but the results are fantastic. The entire office is wonderful. I'm so happy with Cotati Dental Wellness. It took me a while to find just the right fit. I'm very picky about my dentists. The one before was horrible! He told my son and myself we both had 10 cavities and I was flabbergasted. I thought there was no way that could be right. I had gone to another dentist earlier in the year and left shocked at the number of cavities I had that needed 'urgent fillings'. I went to Dr Sylvia for a second opinion, she recommended a filling for 1 of the cavities with the option of watching two others that was smaller and certainly didn't need any treatment urgently. They have done our routine care for a few years (adults and small children) along with an emergency tooth extraction for our 3 year old and an extraction and filling for our 7 year old. I popped a crown off my wisdom tooth at midnight a couple of days ago. It didn't hurt too badly, but I am 400 miles from home.
