As we prepared for the drive back to Mendon my wife's cousin recommended stopping at the "Chevron Station" just east of the town of Bear Lake as you enter the quaint hamlet. He said their hand-scooped fresh fruit shakes are incredible. Maybe. As we exited Bear Lake the Chevron station is truly the LAST business on the left (or the first if you're just coming into town). Shake (pun intended) your franchise/national chain notions and ideas of shakes. NO soft-serve here. Hand-scooped ice cream, vanilla of course, with the flavor of your choice added. Fruits are fresh local grow, malt (!) is available on request. One size only, sir. We ordered a chocolate malt (I could not resist the memories of my youth in the '50s when every shake was hand-scooped), a raspberry shake, and a strawberry shake. Thank goodness we also bought a couple bottles of water. These ice cold creamy milk/egg/sugar/vanilla/flavors-added concoctions were to die for. Certainly the best I have enjoyed since Farrell's Old Fashioned crashed following a short revival. If you are in Bear Lake, DO visit the "Shake Place inside the Chevron Station". Besides the shakes, they also offered quick lunches that looked tasty though we were just "shaking" it down the mountain!

They ended up giving us our shakes and no one else was behind us. While we were waiting for our shakes a couple walked in and they ended up giving them shakes. No questions asked. It was super weird and the shakes were not super great. You could taste the crunchiness on the raspberries like they were kind of icy. L

I had a few special requests due to me sharing my burger with my dog and they did not disappoint. The shake was really good. Blended well. I had raspberry and Oreo cookie. It would've been nice to taste a little more raspberry in the shake. They pride themselves on using fresh raspberries and that is the reason. Fresh fruit mixed with dairy tampons the tartness and dulls a lot of the sweetness.. I believe macerating some raspberries and sugar and finishing with some fresh lemon zest or even a little lemon juice and adding that to the fresh raspberries would knock it out of the park. I put it on the floorboard so my dog wouldn't get at it and accidentally knocked it over. It was so thick that only the huge amount that sticks out of the cup touched the floor mat. Awesome!!!!!!! I got the biggest burger they had. A half pound with two kinds of cheese and pastrami burger. It wasn't called a pastrami burger so I'm not gonna complain that it's just one thick slice. It was more like how you would add bacon to a burger. All the veggies were super fresh. Their choice of bun is the best bun I've had since my road trip began a week ago. Here's my opinion on the burger. The burger had no beef flavor. The only flavor came from the wonderful charcoal grill marks on the burger. Don't be afraid of salt. It's a chef's favorite condiment. The biggest complaint and my only true complaint is that the burgers have a horrible texture to them. Like two quarter pounds of beef breakfast sausage. Not good. If somehow it is how ground I'd recommend using a smaller die and leaving out the transglutaminase. Dog loved it. Would I come again? I sure would. Mos Def

Guys you gotta go when ur a little hungry so when you get your food ur starving.Just go to in n out or crown burger or something else. The raspberry shake was good, but way too overhyped. Warning: GO SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO STARVE.

Be patient as it takes a while to receive orders. They are known for their traditional danish Æbleskiver's which are essentially pancake balls. They have a variety of flavors and toppings, sweet and savory. They also have a lunch menu as well as breakfast items besides the pancake balls and an assortment of drinks, juices, coffees, housemade flavored waters. I got the beach babe water, very strawberry forward. I will try something different next time. The Æbleskivers were well prepared and my entire family enjoyed them. I'm not a big fan of pancakes, I prefer a crispy waffle. The stand out of our experience however was the friendly service from the woman taking our orders. She was so welcoming and talkative even though they were very busy. It was our first time here and she treated us like local friends. Once she spotted our dog she immediately searched for her dog treats and offered one. While we were waiting for our food I asked for a small cup of water for our dog. A minute later the woman who took our order walked out with a large, clean dog bowl filled with cool water. It really put a special touch to this darling place. Even though I dont even like pancakes we will return just because of the hospitality. BTW, check out the adorable shack filled with crystals, candles and lovely jewelry. You won't be disappointed!
