     a sign for shawka's shakes

We stopped by Ber's the other day to try their shakes. I like that it's a little bit away from the hustle and bustle so not as crowded. I also like that they have smaller shake options and that their prices are reasonable. My daughter ordered a strawberry cheesecake shake and I ordered a chocolate raspberry one. My daughter loved her shake and inhaled it! I didn't love mine (tasted like just ice, it was weird) but will definitely go again to give them a second chance!

I appreciate the bang for your buck here-- $3.50 for a small! (Most places charge upwards of $4.50 and up) And the quality is the same. Thick soft serve, fresh local raspberries, blended thoroughly and still a little over the top. This place is a great stop to get your shake fill.

Dirty soda shops are all the rage in Utah right now but most of them seem to have the same flavors, and same spins on those same flavors. Tucked into the Lakeside Plaza just as you enter Garden City is this little new dirty soda oasis called Ber's. Their soda menu is somewhat limited compared to more established chains but all options looked worthy of a try which can't be said for those other chains. I went with the campfire and was not disappointed. The campfire is root beer with toasted marshmallow cream and thankfully they didn't skimp on the marshmallow flavoring which did justice to its name. There is a huge dining area outside with picnic tables and umbrellas but no indoor seating. They have light strings over the tables so this would be a fun outdoor option in the evening also. There is no shortage of shake shacks in Garden City and most of them have long lines owing to their popularity. Ber's is a nice new option for shakes and flavored sodas if that's more your thing. It's right next to Summit Inn Pizza and Waffle Waffle den if you want something other than burgers or fried fare to compliment your drink also.

    Raspberry shake

We got raspberry shakes and they were good. More like ice cream but lots of raspberries in it which I loved.

They are pretty good on size, service is friendly but found it overhyped. Patio needs a bit cleaning..

The shake is more like an ice cream and thick. The soda menu looks interesting with many options but we didn't try it.

As a LaBeaus fan for over 40 years, I have to admit this shake is every bit as good. Five stars for Ber.

I've tried pretty much all the shakes in bear lake and it gets a little boring sometimes so a fun take on a dirty soda is a welcomed change!

I had a few special requests due to me sharing my burger with my dog and they did not disappoint. The shake was really good. Blended well. I had raspberry and Oreo cookie. It would've been nice to taste a little more raspberry in the shake. They pride themselves on using fresh raspberries and that is the reason. Fresh fruit mixed with dairy tampons the tartness and dulls a lot of the sweetness.. I believe macerating some raspberries and sugar and finishing with some fresh lemon zest or even a little lemon juice and adding that to the fresh raspberries would knock it out of the park. I put it on the floorboard so my dog wouldn't get at it and accidentally knocked it over. It was so thick that only the huge amount that sticks out of the cup touched the floor mat. Awesome!!!!!!! I got the biggest burger they had. A half pound with two kinds of cheese and pastrami burger. It wasn't called a pastrami burger so I'm not gonna complain that it's just one thick slice. It was more like how you would add bacon to a burger. All the veggies were super fresh. Their choice of bun is the best bun I've had since my road trip began a week ago. Here's my opinion on the burger. The burger had no beef flavor. The only flavor came from the wonderful charcoal grill marks on the burger. Don't be afraid of salt. It's a chef's favorite condiment. The biggest complaint and my only true complaint is that the burgers have a horrible texture to them. Like two quarter pounds of beef breakfast sausage. Not good. If somehow it is how ground I'd recommend using a smaller die and leaving out the transglutaminase. Dog loved it. Would I come again? I sure would. Mos Def
