A coworker and I decided to disappear from work and find a new coffee spot to try. This particular place was located on a cute street, with lots of green plants sprouting out, and colorful umbrellas floating in the sky. We came around lunchtime, but thankfully there were a few open seats, which we quickly grabbed. I ordered the Brown Sugar Latte, which was very good. Not too sweet, just right. The barista was extremely helpful and answered all of our questions, including supplying us with his personal recommendations. They also serve pastries as well, but we really only had time for coffee. I'm looking forward to returning to try some the next time! 10 out of 10!

For the coffee alone a 5 For the pricing a 3 lol For the staff a 5 overall. They have great employees but the pricing f the coffee has gone up and it makes me go out way less. It's good tho. Hands down my favorite coffee flavors. It's the only brand I buy for my home. Imma have to just get craftier at making my own drinks at home. I love the color scheme of the store. White, clean, inviting and awakening. The art is beautiful as always. Def love blue bottle coffee

The coffee here is top tier! Just be prepared for two things 1) to wait a little bit (perfection takes time) 2) to spend a pretty penny ( premium doesn't come cheap) Honestly for my tiny mocha $8 it's so worth it for a coffee splurge here and there. Definitely couldn't afford this on a daily or weekly basis but every once in a while it's a treat! Inside is cool a little bit of a stale feel but honestly it kinda reminds me of a work environment type of place that has little distractions and none of the rift raft other coffee shops drag in. Most people coming in here like a premium cup of coffee and aren't in a rush. So super chill and good clientele!

This is one of my favorite stops for coffee when in Oakland. I used to go to their previous location at Jack London and the service, and coffee was always awesome. Today not so much, the employees did not greet or make eye contact, can't even say Thanks for waiting we will be right with you guys...although there were only two customers in line but they seemed so pre-occupied to even notice customers were waiting. 6 minutes later the girl finally acknowledges me waiting at the counter. Ordered my regular Mocha they were out of chocolate. Had to try the cherry one and it was not as good. I was a little disappointed at my overall experience here today.

$6.35 for a scone this size.

I'm a Blue Bottle Coffee fan and have been enjoying their coffee you years. This morning I ordered a cappuccino and scone through DoorDash. For $6.35, the tiny size of the scone, though delicious, is just a few bites. I'm disappointed.

This place is definitely on the pricier side for coffee, but it's decent. However I must warn you that the internet here is painfully slow. If you are thinking of getting some work done, i'd suggest giving it a pass. Also, it's worth noting that the surrounding area is sketchy & unsafe. We parked our car just half a block away from this location and unfortunately, it got broken into within an hour (around 11:30 am, nothing visible). So please be cautious if you decide to visit.

Hidden oasis is such a cliche, but it really does apply to this coffee shop. I got their shakerato and really liked it. Super clean and safe inside compared to the chaos of broken glass, homeless people, and litter near this place. Great friendly staff. Would love it if more businesses like would open up and help to revive downtown Oakland and help it bounce back from all the closed restaurants and shops.

Yummy croissants included in my Too Good To Go bag.

One of my ways to try new thing is to use the Too Good to Go App. This place popped up for baked goods. The time to pick up was in a range I could do and just so correlated with the morning caffeine need. I decided to order a coffee with my pastry and give some extra business. I was going to go for my standard mocha latte, but then I saw on the board Black Cardamom latte, which wasn't in a the pictures when I researched. The staff is pleasant and when I asked which milk alt went better, almond or oat for this particular drink she recommended the later, which she was right on. the drinks are made fresh. the seating area is modern and open airy. I truly enjoyed my coffee, not bitter and not overly strong, which I liked. On my way out I saw on the board, spiced Nola coffee. (I will be back to try that one) Now the pastries. My too good to go contained two large croissants and scone and a mini loaf, brown butter blondie I think. I warmed it up a bit. I'm don't think I'm a fan of brown butter in general, so I leave that one to the man, next time if it is included. The scone was quite good. The croissants are for my guy. But considering I paid $6 for 4 pastries which about that price for on and they try not to waste food, not bad.

I stopped by here for a quick coffee and bite to eat for breakfast. It's a nice coffee shop, seems like a great place to sit and enjoy coffee while working or meeting up with a friend. I was interested in the New Orleans Style Coffee but I'm not a huge fan of sweet so I wanted to taste the coffee first so the barista was really nice and he let me have a sample. It was really good, bold with hints of chicory and perfect balance of sweetness. I also ordered a breakfast sandwich, it came with egg and cheese, they were out of turkey sausage. It was a decent San which nothing special about it. Overall, I'd go back for their coffee.

Very nice place to grab coffee and pastries. I tried the NOLA. Iced. It was very good. We also had a lemon poppyseed loaf which was good and a caramel cookie which was delicious. The service is friendly and professional. Loved the atmosphere. Very open and bright yet cozy too.

Found this place after crying into my empty coffee cup when I found the closed location in JLS and thought it was gone forever. I love the new (to me) digs... GREAT location, plenty of seating, and same great product! Found parking surprisingly easy and placed our order. Within moments I had my caffeine fix and a warm, buttery chocolate croissant. Took my treasures outside, had a lovely moment on the front patio, and took a carton of iced coffee to go for the long drive home. Home run!

I ordered the Nola cold brew. It was lightly sweetened and just perfect. I'm glad I was able to find some coffee that was open on Labor Day. I missed Blue Bottle coffee and came to visit the area for the long weekend. The service was quick and staff was friendly!

I'm torn. I love the taste of the pour over coffee, and I love the loaf cake. I especially love the pumpkin loaf with chocolate chips. It is pretty darn amazing. I also really like the idea of a fresh pour over for each cup of coffee. But what I don't like is price of a 12 oz cup of coffee and the fact that you cannot get a larger size cup of coffee. 12 oz is the biggest. That means if I wanted a 24 ounce quantity of coffee, akin to a Starbucks venti size, the price would be enormous. Don't be mistaken, I am not especially persnickety about price. But at blue bottle the price versus quantity versus options just don't quite justify making blue bottle My regular coffee shop.

I pedaled my bike over there this Wednesday morning, aiming to secure a proper breakfast that would actually carry me past 11 a.m. The shop is cozy, definitely on the smaller side with a few seats inside, giving it that familiar, neighborhood spot feel. It's not a sprawling, antiseptic café, and I appreciate that. I ordered the Laney Breakfast Sandwich, which features egg, fresh spinach, sliced turkey, and Swiss cheese on a toasted English muffin. What impressed me was the intentionality--this wasn't something sitting under a heat lamp, looking defeated. It was clearly made to order. The egg was seasoned right, the turkey wasn't flimsy, and the spinach added that necessary fresh bite. It was a damn good sandwich, simple as that. I paired that with the Berry Lovers Smoothie. The original recipe calls for banana, but I asked if they could swap that out for mango. My people know that mango adds a different kind of sunshine, and they executed the substitution flawlessly. It came out thick, perfectly blended--a rich mix of blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and that mango kick. It was super refreshing and didn't taste like I was drinking melted ice. The service was quick and friendly, which is key on a weekday morning. Everything tasted clean, fresh, and intentionally prepared. If you're looking for high-quality breakfast fare that feels less commercial and more like something someone actually cares about, stop by. The short bike ride and the intimate seating are worth it for what comes out of that kitchen. They earned this review.

Our orders were taken and we sat down to wait. There were a TON OF FLIES buzzing around and I kept having to wave them off especially when we got our order to the table, which honestly was gross. We were called to pick up our order, but only 1 of the 4 items was ready: Zadie's Masterpiece Breakfast Sando - Really tasty and enjoyed the biscuit it was on. Skimpy on the bacon, there was ONE piece but overall good breakfast sandwich. Next item ready 5 minutes later: Khadija's Slow Burn Harissa Hot Honey Breakfast Burrito - Really tasty. Definitely flavor packed and would order this again. *BUT there was an issue. Apparently the person that ordered before us asked for the same burrito to go...they NEVER got it and yet our order was ready. The person was pretty cool about it but they were definitely annoyed and gave us a look although it wasn't our fault. *The ordering system seems unorganized with the cashier writing orders on a slip of receipt paper and putting them on a stand by the kitchen. I wonder if the slips were out of order or fell and they skipped this persons to go order? IDK but they need a better system! We tried waiting for our coffees before starting to eat but then our food started getting cold...YOU KNOW WHY?... because the poor person that was taking orders was also in charge of making drinks. Having one person as cashier and barrista is NOT a good idea on a busy Saturday morning. It was hard for them to take a moment and focus on the drinks becuase people kept coming in an placing orders which means we waited for 20+ minutes before getting our drinks. By then our food was mostly eaten! Thankfully we noticed they had a water pitcher for free water which was a saving grace! The wait for drinks was so long that people that were already sitting when we arrived and had already eaten their food were JUST getting their drinks before us. HORRIBLE! I felt really bad for the cashier/barista :( Another turn off, there is no understanding on what to do with dirty dishes. Do we bus our table? If so where do we put it? We noticed people leaving plates by the water pitcher and cups, some put them on the long counter by the coffee area. There wasn't a garbage or compost bin, so we weren't sure where to put food scraps. There was a bin for "Plastic Only" but only the cup lids were plastic and the cup itself was paper, so where TF do you put that? We noticed a black plastic bin that someone had brought out from the back, so we placed our stuff in there but wasn't exactly sure. We tried to ask the cashier/barista but they were slammed with customers so we ccouldn't get their attention. IDK the place is just poorly organized and messy! There are tables for people to make artwork which is nice but on a busy Saturday it might have been nice to clean those areas up to allow people to sit. Sorry guys... *You need a dedicated barista! People waiting 20+ minutes for drinks is insane especially when the food comes out relatively fast. *Please clean up your restaurant. The amount of flies was gross and no one wants to swat them away from food & drinks. *Tell people if they should bus their own tables and if so.... *Make it clear where to leave plates, cups, garbage, compost etc.
