    Newmar Dutch Star 4081

We recently purchased a Newmar Dutch Star 4081 MH and are delighted with our decision to make this purchase through Blue Compass. Dean was exceptional throughout the entire process. His passion, extensive knowledge, and exceptional assistance and friendliness were truly commendable. The entire staff was a pleasure to interact with. Dean and Antonio provided invaluable support, going above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. For the pickup, we were fortunate to receive an exceptional walkthrough from Craig. His comprehensive knowledge, precise pacing, and ability to make the process enjoyable were truly impressive. We now feel confident in our ability to contact Dean and Craig with any questions, providing us with immense peace of mind. Antonio in the finance department was also a pleasure to work with. We extend our sincere gratitude to Blue Compass, Dean, Craig, and Antonio for their exceptional service. Brian & Sheryl

We purchased a motorhome that was a custom order from Newmar thru Blue Compass RV. Barry our sales guy did a great job and we are very pleased with our purchase.

My husband and I just went to Blue Compass Rv in Santee, CA. and we were met by a wonderful sales person, Bonnie. She was knowledgeable, thoughtful and didn't waste our time! She asked pointed questions about what we were looking for and took us straight to it. If the price range or size wasn't right for us she helped us explore other options. We ended up finding the perfect RV to meet our needs. Bonnie is an avid camper and provided so much useful information that it made the whole buying experience so much easier and fun! We did not feel any pressure to make any decisions right away. It was truly a pleasure to work with all the staff at Blue Compass RV in Santee. The manager Marty was very personable, cracking jokes with us along the way. He made sure we got the absolute best deal possible. (Seriously, we got a great deal!!!) Billy was our finance specialist and made sure we had everything we needed in our agreement to meet our needs. George provided us with our walk through and showed us all of the operating systems of our RV before we left the lot. Overall, we would say that everyone we worked with and met during this process went above and beyond for us. Thank you to all of you that helped make our dreams of owning an RV a reality! Sincerely, 2 Happy Campers Nicole & Shawn

they never got leaks fixed during warranty and now the warranty is over they want over $1400 the replace them

Except Joe as manager and Matt as manager of part department the rest of the staff are very careless when I had our RV for repeated issues regarding entry door and break light in back they always say that everything is fixed but unfortunately they don't have good mechanics and they really don't check everything after they are done with my RV For example I picked up our RV like over six months ago and I notice my floor mats are marked with dirty greasy shoes and they didn't car to cover the floor with plastic then I notice my front driver seat are greasy too And they didn't ever cover seats with plastic I have light creamy color leather seats that if they care little bit they could prevent them from getting so dirty I am warning anyone who wants to buy from them don't trust them for fixing your RV because when you have warranty to cover it they are book over 4-6 months then if they fixed it temporarily and you don't know yet once your warranty is over. Then they get you for any little repair, one of my recent disappointment with Blue Compass RV are Very careless and their mechanic are very impolite, we had to drive from Orange County for 1 hour and half to get to their service department in San Marcos after few days , I made sure they have my car ready before driving to San Marcos, I got a ride on Friday to pickup my RV before 10 am so we can leave early to avoid the traffic on Friday, We have paid them and ready to get in to freeway 5 north that I have notice my signal light in back doesn't work and they didn't even care to fixing it, so I had drive back to make sure get it fix for something that was supposed to be fix for repair that they didn't fixed it. Make the story short it is over 2 hours to fix it and we had to drive back with heavy traffic over 2 hours and 40 min I will post a video in YouTube regarding their services so everyone can see how careless are they when you drop off your 190K. RV to them how they give you back your RV

Blue Compass made us feel special and celebrated with us!

I have had to fix a few things upon accepting delivery and Rachel has been great in the service department as has Joe the manager. The biggest help I have gotten from everyone is from Tony in the parts department. Tony, Chad, and Nikki and the parts folks are awesome. Quite frankly I have read the poor reviews this place has received, and I think they are much better than what has been said about them. One of my windows was broken on delivery and I had a hard time getting follow up to get the new one ordered, though it had been promised by many folks at Holland on several occasions. I shared my frustration with Tony, and he took it upon himself to ensure that I had no further issues with Holland. Tony helped me with a weight distribution, anti-sway Blue Ox Hitch and personally got my window ordered and approved by Joe and the service team. Once Tony learned that I was having some issues that I wanted to resolve and had not been successful, he really stepped up and showed the best this place has to offer. Even though the window still needs to be fixed, this fellow really wanted to make sure that this and all the other issues (as I learn -- a newbie) are addressed. Tony goes the extra mile every time and knows no limit in showing he cares and wants to help - this guy is the best of the lot! That brings me to the final point: Holland is NOT a 1 star place deserving of 1 star reviews. They carry the finest merchandise and literally stock millions in inventory. Not everyone carries Grand Design - it is to me the Del Mar and Rancho Sante Fe of Trailers. They have all the top brands and top parts to go with them. My assessment is they are just plain overworked and busy and probably trying to get qualified additional staff in a rough market. One thing for sure though - they are ALL HEART! They truly do give a damm about the customers and showed that with me. To me, they embody classic San Diego - the big city that thinks it's a small town. If you have been to LA then you know what I mean. It's much friendlier here. These folks are very personal and put their whole heart into everything. And all of us with good hearts are not perfect - that's the point. Finally, I can't forget to mention that Dave gave my wife and I a wonderful walk through with refreshments and a red carpet service. Another Holland guy with a big heart. And Hank even delivered our trailer to us as we were not quite set up for towing (an exciting process to learn). HRV has my loyalty. Give them a chance and they will have yours too.

We searched for an established and reputable RV solar firm, and a friend recommend Infinite RV & Marine in San Marcos. My initial phone call was answered by office manager Daniela, who listened intently to my questions, and quickly put me at ease. Following the call, she worked closely with the firm's founder and technical maestro David - who reached out to discuss technical aspects and options, and soon we had a detailed and easily understood proposal in hand to add a pair of 200 Watt rigid solar panels to our RV roof, as well as all the subsystems necessary to make them fully operational and beneficial to our anticipated needs. The day of our appointment, we met the rest of the team, including David's son Zack, who runs the day-to-day operations of the business, providing hands-on leadership to a small crew of installers, to assure everything is up to his family standards. As Zack later said: "I treat every RV as if it was my own". With several restaurants, a multi-plex theater and brewpub a short distance away, I planned on spending a few hours nearby as the work was performed, and was pleasantly surprised to receive an early call that the work was not only complete, but that my cost would be less than half of the estimate. On further inspection and research during the installation, Zack determined my existing control hardware and other systems would be able to easily handle the new panels, and there was no need to install the hundreds of dollars of additional new equipment they had understandably ordered and prepared for the install. Though Zack could have easily installed that new equipment for an extra profit, and explained it away to a know-nothing like me, he didn't - - and that means one hell of a lot. Zack, David, Daniela and the team at Infinite RV & Marine have our utmost respect and admiration. We could not be happier with the work they performed. When it comes time to expertly install complex solar and other specialized electrical systems in an RV, they will most certainly be the first ones we turn to.

We booked a RV (#C15 Luxury Sunseeker) through RVFunRental (*RFR) on the RVShare site on 3/31--for travel 7/10-7/18. The RV we booked sleeps 10--with bunk beds, modern décor, and new amenities. On Monday, 7/6, 4 days before our trip--*RFR cancelled our RV booking, and sent a message through the RVShare app. *RFR indicated that our RV was damaged due to gas found in the water system--and offered a subpar alternative replacement--with fewer specs, less sleeping spots (sleeps only 8), and less modern décor & amenities. We declined the alternative RV--and called *RFR to speak with Matt, and GM Miguel. Later, we found *many* negative reviews for *RFR --many posted in June--after our March booking. We requested *RFR to correct their error--and offer an equivalent swap, or RV with more specs at their cost. This is standard expectation and professional customer service--for listing a damaged and dangerous vehicle for rent. Craziest part: *RFR is still actively listing the same damaged #C15 unit on RVShare's website!! *RFR is still accepting bookings for an RV they acknowledge is damaged, unsafe, and has gas in the water reserve. From the swap options, we chose a new RV (#C19) with fewer specs and slept fewer people. Miguel assured me that *RFR would do a clean swap and absorb any extra costs--to replace my damaged RV. GM Miguel then asked me to cancel my original 3/31/26 #C15 reservation through RVShare--and rebook directly through them. I refused this shady request. *RFR wanted me to create a paper trail where I initiate the RV cancellation--resulting in cancellation-fees on my end. When I refused to initiate the cancellation, Miguel/Matt/*RFR stopped answering their phone and never ever called me back since. I sent messages in the RVShare app--requesting follow-up and confirmation for my new #C19 RV replacement. After several hours of nonresponsive calls/texts, I began receiving brief, confusing, and uninformative screenshots in the RVShare app of my replacement RV--along with email confirmations that the new #C19 vehicle had replaced my reservation. *RFR instructed me to accept the new reservation in the app--however, the new booking had increased fees. When asked about the extra fees--that Miguel already agreed to cover, nobody responded to me in the app, and ignored all calls to explain and provide clarity. The next day, *RFR sent another app message--saying the #C19 vehicle had been rented, since I didn't accept the new booking (with unexplained added costs they promised I wouldn't incur). This is also a lie; the #C19 vehicle is still actively listed on RVShare for my exact travel dates. RVShare has since refunded my money--and my family scrambled to book another RV. Summary: 1) *RFR rented a damaged and unsafe #C15 vehicle that they knew had gas-contaminated water from a previous complaint. 2) *RFR bait-and-switch-cancelled my original booking with a subpar replacement. 3) *RFR wanted me to initiate a cancellation directly through RVShare and rebook through them instead (to create a false paper trail that I was cancelling my RV booking). 3) *RFR promised to correct their error and replace my RV with an equivalent vehicle with no added cost--when they in fact tried to get me to accept a new booking at additional/unexplained fees/charges. 4) *RFR cancelled the 2nd vehicle offered to me--claiming it was no longer available, when #C19 is still populating in RVShare listings. 5) *RFR stopped answering my calls/texts, and did not address their shady tactics in the RVShare messaging app. 5) The original damaged/unsafe #C15 with the gas-in-water tank problem is still actively listed by *RFR on the RVShare site! 6) *RFR has many recent negative reviews from May-June (posted after our March booking) for similar bait-and-switch tactics and nonresponsive, unprofessional customer service. DO NOT BOOK THROUGH *RFR. THEY WILL RUIN YOUR TRIP.

Sandy Vans to the Rescue!…read more So... my original awning decided to pick a fight with the wind. The wind won. Turns out my Exclusive Outfitters-built Sprinter van had a VERY heavy electric Dometic awning supported by only TWO mounting brackets. And just to make things more interesting, those brackets were attached with riv-nuts drilled into the corner of my roof--which also happens to be a pop-top. I'm no engineer, but a giant heavy awning + two brackets + a pop-top roof apparently wasn't the winning combination we all hoped for. Enter Sandy Vans. I live in San Diego and needed a replacement awning ASAP because we're leaving for Utah in a couple of days. I contacted Sandy Vans and had an awesome experience from the very beginning. I spoke with Cindy two days in a row, and she was fantastic--super helpful, courteous, patient, and accommodating. When I came in to pick up the awning, if she didn't know the answer to one of my questions, she didn't just shrug and send me on my way. She immediately found someone who did. That kind of customer service goes a long way. Then came Braden. Also extremely helpful and accommodating. He handled my purchase and even gave me his cell number so I could text him if I decided to install the awning myself and needed some technical support. He did briefly mistake my Sprinter for a Ford Transit... I'll forgive him. My van has a pop-top, so it doesn't look like the 9-foot-tall Sprinter skyscrapers that make up about 90% of camper vans these days. Then Brian came out from the shop and actually took the time to look over my van and roof rack to figure out how I could mount the new awning. He gave me several ideas, explained different options, and made the whole project seem doable. Sandy Vans offered to install it, but apparently I enjoy making my life more difficult, so I decided to tackle the installation myself with a good friend. About 2.5 hours, some cutting, grinding, a few choice words directed at the old mounting brackets, and probably a questionable amount of confidence later... NEW AWNING INSTALLED! What impressed me most about Sandy Vans was that they were helpful even after realizing I might not be paying them to do the installation. They still took the time to answer questions, look at my setup, offer advice, and make themselves available if I ran into problems. That says a lot about a business. I highly recommend Sandy Vans for their customer service, knowledge, courtesy, availability, and willingness to actually help their customers. Cindy, Braden, and Brian were all great to deal with. Now hopefully this awning and the Utah wind can maintain a respectful relationship.

I finally got around to reaching out to Sandy Vans to see about getting a replacement and was told that "this item is outside of their return window" (which is 30 days) but they could offer me $50 off towards a new $200 bug screen.. which seems silly considering the first one fell apart. I'm not sure about their other products, but the bug screens are garbage! I declined their pitiful offer of $50 off a new one and told them I'd purchase from a company with a more durable product. I'd recommend anyone else thinking about buying this product do the same!
