The food here was very good, although the portions were on the small side. Unfortunately, my dining experience was ruined by the wine service. The pours seemed noticeably light, so I politely mentioned it to our waitress. Instead of checking with the bartender or trying to make it right, she insisted it was a full 5-ounce pour and dismissed my concern. I've worked in the restaurant business, and I know how important it is to make customers feel heard. A small top-off or even an effort to address my concern would have completely changed my impression. After my visit, I happened to meet someone who said they had experienced the same thing with the wine pours on a previous visit. Whether that's a coincidence or not, it certainly made me wonder. As you push through the blue door, this small space opens up to a sheik eatery, white plates with blue flowers adorning the tables... framed by pale blue felt back chairs. You've been warned. The soup of the day was potato leek and I enjoyed my cup. I loved my Brussels and Kale salad!! Best salad I've had in a long time. Every bite was bursting with flavor. There is also a second floor with even more seating so don't be fooled by the small interior of the first floor. Our wait staff were prompt and friendly and anticipated all of our needs. We were presented with the best dilemma of having to choose between many delicious sounding option, which guarantees that we will return. However, the remainder of my service was kind of the opposite. My waiter wasn't rude, but he seemed like he didn't care. He just took our order and gave us the check. One gentlemen at the table stated that he was a Yelp reviewer and would post something (not sure if he did). Shortly after the man, who I believed to be the manager, came by with glasses of wine for their table... I just think that's interesting. I didn't see any other table get this treatment, so just curious as to why these people in particular were singled out. As for the food, I originally came in to try the Brussel and Kale salad that people were raving about on tiktok. I ended up ordering the Lincoln Park combo with the Brussel Kale Salad, a half grilled cheese and a cup of tomato soup. While I will say the salad was delicious, the grilled cheese and tomato soup wasn't anything amazing. Would I go back? Meh, maybe to order takeout. For others who would still like to try out this restaurant, street parking can be a pain if it's busy so be advised. i've heard great things about blue door farm stand so wanted to check it out! i ended up going after running a half marathon so I was starving and wanted something satiating that was going to make my body feel good, and i think blue door was the perfect place for that combination. i got the corned beef hash, which i've never had before, and i really enjoyed it. i found the ratio of ingredients to be exactly what i wanted (veg : meat : potato : egg : salsa). it's definitely centered around fresh, clean ingredients so there's no frills and I really appreciate that you can taste the actual food what it is instead of a overpowering/dominating sauce. the salsa complemented everything nicely but it didn't threaten to be the star of the show which i really liked. one thing I'll note is that our hostess was acting a little strange and she was a little unhelpful and unfriendly. i also had to request a new glass of water because mine came with a lipstick stain on it and my waiter assured me he would bring me a new one, but i did end up having to ask 3 times before i finally got it. i'm not too nitpicky about customer service having worked as a waiter/hostess in the past - i get it - but i think it's worth mentioning in this review. read more

We were looking for a restaurant to seat our large group around the Armitage area, and we're so lucky to have found Blue Door that was so accommodating. The menu is a crowd pleaser. Big salads, burgers, an abundance of sandwiches and soups. You really can't go wrong here no matter what dietary restrictions you or your group might have. We started with the cheese curds and crab cakes. Visually, the curds were beautiful but when we received them, they were a bit cold and stuck together. Still delicious, but if they'd been hot - they would have been super super delicious. The crab cake was tasty but not exceptional. My friend and I split the brussel salad and burger with fries.
