Been meaning to try this HH for a while! This place is attached to hotel Lincoln so it essentially serves as the hotel bar and restaurant. It was good! The inside feels kind of like Gemini with open windows, modern fixtures etc. The service was good overall, and they fixed a drink when I didn't like it. The happy hours is definitely worth it to get the burger and fries. Both were decently sized and worth the $15 price. The burger had a lot of toppings, including a sauce and pickled onions and a very good amount of pickles. The Caesar salad honestly was not good, tasted very artificial and I probably would only try their sandwiches or appetizers if I went back. The truffle fries didn't have a strong truffle flavor, but I like the shoe string shape and they come with ketchup and mayo. But overall, a cute place, an easy walk in and a good patio! read more

I went to Americano for a solo brunch on a cold and rainy Saturday morning. I was just passing by and the beautiful decor made me want to step in. I was the only customer there initially when I stepped in even though the place eventually got full. The server was very attentive and kind. I ordered coffee and traditional breakfast plate. It tasted homey and just what a needed. Overall I had a great experience of feeling welcomed and warmth but in stillness with delicious food. Probably on a nice warm day, this place is crowded and popping. That's also going to be fun so I will certainly revisit with friends for some brunch and mimosa. read more

Stopped in for an early happy hour on a Saturday. We just wanted to get out of the house and saw this establishment as being an intriguing location. Very cute restaurant attached to the bottom a famous Lincoln Park hotel. Upon entering we were offered a cute corner table. It was perfect for people watching and catching some vitamin D through window. On this occasion, Hunter was our server and he was a pleasure. Hunter provided excellent drink recommendations to go with our Oysters. The Oysters were good size, cold and the fresh. We also enjoyed the smash burger along with some French fries. We had our engagement party here, and the communication from the coordinator and staff was very poor. I have been trying to get on the phone with the person who helped book our party for the entirety of this week now to discuss the issues provided. I have provided multiple timeframes when I would be available to discuss the issues, but I have not received a call. I booked the space two months prior to our party and had constant communication with the representative. My fiancée's family arrived at the venue early, prior to the proposal, to set up balloons and a sign. This was agreed upon in my email communication with the venue. When they arrived they were told they could not set up because the venue was double-booked, despite the constant communication we had maintained via email. We were then moved to a different part of the restaurant. However, our friends, who were forced to come help set up because our parents had to leave for the proposal, were told that they could not begin setting up until a bit past 6:00 p.m. This significantly shifted a number of our planned timelines. During the party, starting around 9:00 p.m. Guests began coming up to me to tell me that the bar had closed and that they had been cut off. I was personally told by the staff that they were no longer serving drinks at approximately 9:15 p.m. I had to explain to them that the bar was supposed to remain open until 10:00 p.m., as agreed upon in our package. The manager eventually came over, and we discussed the situation. He explained that because people had been drinking prior to 7:00 p.m., the bar was being shut down earlier than 10:00 p.m. If this was the policy, it should have been addressed when guests first began ordering and clearly communicated to everyone that the open bar did not begin until 7:00 p.m. Throughout this process, the bartenders were rude to our guests and gave the clear impression that they wanted to be anywhere else. Additionally, there was no sign or indication from the bartenders explaining what people could order or what was included in the package I had purchased. This led to a lot of confusion amongst guests. There were also issues with the billing. Prior to the party, the person who helped me arrange the event provided me with a quote that was a set price per person, plus tax and gratuity. When it came time to pay the bill, I provided my credit card, and the receipt that was returned to me was an itemized bill that included additional items that were not part of the package I had purchased. Overall, the lack of communication, disorganization, poor service, and billing discrepancies made what should have been a very special occasion unnecessarily stressful and disappointing. read more

I really liked the area of this restaurant. We were staying at the Lincoln hotel so this was right in the lobby. They have indoor and outdoor seating options. I love the decorations, they're queue and make the atmosphere nice for a date night or girls night. I got the bottomless mimosas which were great and they poured tall glasses. I love the restaurant that used to be in this space, so I was super excited to try Americano! The brunch menu looked amazing, so we decided we had to try. First off, the interior is so gorgeous! I was obsessed with everything down to the velvet chairs. For food, we got the beet salad, lobster benedict, and avocado toast. We also did bottomless. Starting off with bottomless, it was only $30 and you got your choice of spritzes, sangria, mimosas, seltzer, or rose which I thought was a great value. I will say, the server we had wan't rushing to get us our next drink which was fine because I didn't want to drink that much, but something to know if that's what you're looking to do. For food, the beet salad was really good. I loved all of the flavors and the addition of the goat cheese with the beets. This does not come with lettuce, which I initially thought it did, but I did not miss it! The lobster benedict was also great (and I got my side salad here). The lobster is seasoned well and really made the dish. Lastly, the avocado toast was creamy and the bread was fresh. All in all, a solid meal. Although the interior is gorgeous, the brunch was a disappointment. My friends and I opted for their $30 bottomless brunch which has a fantastic selection of drinks such as Spritz, Rose and Mimosas. The drinks were very good, however our waitress did not bring them out efficiently and cut us off right before the 90 min mark by throwing the bill at our table. From my understanding, they were understaffed but the waitress was very rude to us and short with her responses. It would take a while for them to bring the Spritz out, which again might have been due to the understaffing issue, but I would've hoped the server would be kinder to us about it. GET THE SMASH BURGER! Dare I say one of the best in all of Chicago? I've had au cheval, portillos, Beatrix, etc. and I have to say the smash burger at Americano caught me by surprise by how good it was. The burger comes with caramelize onions, cheese and pickles and they just worked so well together. We came for the bottomless mimosas but left knowing that we had to come back for the burger. My girlfriend and I have this thing where we hit all the bottomless brunch spots that served more than just mimosas so when I heard of Americano we had to jump on it! I stuck with sangria which was tasty but I'll be honest in saying i didn't leave there with a great buzz like I usually do at other places unfortunately! My friend had the rose first which she didn't enjoy too much so she switched to the sangria. Now on to the food... I was disappointed, sadly, i ordered steak and eggs and it was really flavorless. I requested it medium well and it gave medium rare - super chewy, some indigestible. I took the steak home to recook and that was better. My friend's lobster roll was laughable.... We went to the J Parker for a drink but liked the vibe at Americano so randomly just decided to stop back downstairs to see what it's like. To our surprise there was no one sitting in there! So we grabbed 2 seats at the bar and of course was told wrong info about there being a private event all day. My friend really wanted happy hour and asked if we could still take advantage due to this and the manager refused to come by after our fabulous bartender went to get him. After several minutes I finally motioned him to come over so we could ask him and he said no and sorry we got wrong info. That put a bad taste in my mouth but my friend really wanted to eat here. We order 2 cocktails which were fabulous and decided to order food. The kitchen was slow to bring out food but finally got it to us and it wasn't that great. Stick to fries! The manager comes over as we are getting our second drink and finishing our food and tells us there is a private party coming and we need to check out and leave. The steak was too chewy for medium rare. The good: raw oysters were good and the sea bass was tender and cooked perfectly. The mussels were plump and large too, albeit the dish overall was too salty. Service: so. Slow. We were there for 2.5 hours not because we were chatting, because food took so long to come out. Maybe because they're new, but they have to figure out the logistics. I ordered a dirty martini, my go-to drink and received what was basically olive brine (you could even just see it in the glass) with a hint of gin. When I mentioned it, the server curly said, "Too dirty for you?" instead of acknowledging the issue. I asked if they could remake it, which they did in the same glass with even the same broken olive. Was it that hard to do something fresh? Then I ordered the beet salad. It tasted odd and I noticed that the cheese was feta instead of the goat cheese that was written on the menu and the candied walnuts were just plain. I mentioned it again to the server and even told her she didn't have to take it back but that she should let the kitchen know so that the next person wouldn't have this issue. In the most condescending tone she asked, "Oh? You really think that's the wrong cheese huh? Okay I'll let them know." We paid the bill but stayed to finish the wine we ordered (to prevent any more cocktail issues) and she returned to say, "You were right. Here's some goat cheese." She never apologized and just handed us a little cup of goat cheese. What kind of service is this? We also ordered fries when we got the wine and a lot of them were cooked to the point they turned dark brown. The ambiance was cute on a surface level but the table we were given was so unbelievably wobbly that our drinks kept spilling.
