We went to Little Goat Diner for brunch prior to catching a game at Wrigley Field. I made reservations at 11am for a party of 13. They weren't able to seat us all together in one table, but I was assured that our tables would be next to each other and they were. Half of the girls sat in an alcove booth, and the other half was at a table with pull out chairs. The restaurant was funky... in a good way. The decor was a not to the 70s. Service was fine. Our waitress was really friendly, and she acknowledged that they were behind on the coffee drinks since they only had one barista. I ordered the Little Goat Latte. I didn't love it nor hate it. Acquired taste if you ask me because of the pungent goat milk and masala spice. Food came out in a timely manner, and it was OK. We ordered the chicken and kimchi dip to share, and it was fantastic. Favorite thing I ate at The Little Goat Diner. I got the okonomiyaki without bacon as my entree, which was not what I expected. The okonomiyaki was fluffy like an American pancake and didn't have the cabbage mix like I'm used to. That said, the flavors were all there with the kewpie mayo, bonito flakes, etc. The fried tempura balls added a nice texture.

Updated review after trying their ice cream - I had such a better experience! There, sweet treat menu is unique and delicious. On the expensive side for sure the staff were extremely kindly friendly. The brown butter toffee dip was incredible! Nice patio for the summer.

    French Onion Omelette. Yum.

Tasty flavorful food. Wonderful for a nice brunch. Great service. Reasonable prices. Nice walkable neighborhood.

I have multiple allergies and our waitress was SO INCREDIBLY SWEET. Kept checking on me, offered to tell the chef to make my pancakes in a separate pan to avoid cross-contamination and gave excellent recommendations. Location was so cute, too. We sat outside but inside was so cozy and vintage-feeling. Pancakes were absolutely delicious, best vegan pancakes I've ever had

When we came to Chicago on a summer vacation, we came ready for Deep Dish Pizza, Chicago Dogs, and some mean Italian! We had no idea that this little diner, in the middle of a cute neighborhood a few blocks from Wrigley, would end up being our FAVORITE eatery on our trip! We pulled up here, without a reservation, 90 minutes before a Sunday afternoon Cubs game. The place was popping, but we somehow snuck in and even nabbed the LOVELY booth with neon lights right up front! Score! The dining room is tight, but super cute, and the staff were all working hard and very friendly! Our waitress offered many GREAT recommendations, which we all mostly used! We ordered many different things - some breakfast-y, some lunch-y, some sweet, some savory! ALL of the above were absolutely fantastic! This was one of those places where everything on the menu just seems to be a little different, a little special. There's an ingredient combination giving it a boost, or a little extra TLC making it EXTRA special and tasty! I tried a bite of every dish at our table, and it was true - everything was amazing, and everything was just a step above the best you've ever had before. Outstanding! Best of all, we got in, had our amazing brunch, and got out, just in time to hit our seats at Wrigley by first pitch! Food = 6/5 Facility = 4/5 Service = 5/5 Ambiance = 4/5 Value = 3/5

I'd been to the 'old' Little Goat when it was still in the West Loop, but hadn't yet made it to the new location. It's a lot smaller, which also makes it loud, and that's the one big downside. They do have a good amount of outdoor seating, which helps, though we stat inside this visit. I had the okonomiyaki, which was delicious! The flavors were excellent, it was a good portion, and a decent price (especially for what you get). My friend and I also split a carafe of the strawberry mimosas, which were good (there was a hint of sumac in the juice, which added some nice depth). The service was good-the food came out quick and our server checked on us a few times. My friend and I hung around for a while, and service dropped off after our plates were cleared (which didn't much bother me, as it was clear we were just chatting and finishing up our mimosas). They were able to split our check, which is always super appreciated. It gets busy on the weekend for brunch, though it did clear out around 1:15ish (which also helped the noise level). I definitely recommend!

Visited Little Goat Diner on a Sunday mid-morning without a reservation. The inside is smaller with a couple of tables and booths as well as a counter to sit at. During the summer, they have a ton of tables outside along the street; this at least doubles their seating capacity. The crowd really picked up around 10:30-11; but before that, you would be okay to walk in. For drinks, I got the hot Little Goat Latte. The flavor was buttery from the goats milk, spiced and not overly coffee forward. I really enjoyed the taste and it was unlike any other latte I've had. My group also got a Chai Tea and Umami Mami Latte. Both had great flavor. For food, we started by sharing the Ooey Gooey Cinna-Biscuit. It was so good but sweet so happy I didn't have this all to myself. I ordered the This Little Piggy Sandwich and my group got the Parathas Burrito and Okonomiyaki. All these dishes were ones our server recommended and happy she did. The flavors were so unique and each dish was so different. I absolutely loved my biscuit sandwich. Be sure to ask for the sauces on the side to try as well! I love that this menu is big enough where I can happily come back to try other great options. The service was great and our group left perfectly full highly recommend trying Little Goat Diner as a summertime brunch spot! Pro Tip: They have a walk up ordering window outside so if you want a small taste from a coffee, tea, or baked good, skip the full dining experience and grab something on the go.

The little goat diner is a must hit restaurant for me everytime I visit Chicago from California. I've been coming back for ~10 years now and I love how each time the menu is slightly different so there's always something new to try. This is my first time coming to this location though since they used to be in the west loop. But happy to report the food and the ambience really did feel the same. My favorite dish is the chickpea salad because the kale with the homemade tzatziki is delicious. It hits everytime! The new items to try this time were the fish tostada and the This little piggy. The fish tostada had a lot of tang and pickled onions, cabbage and jalapeños that had a bit of an Asian twist to it. The marinade on the fish was delicious as well. The little miss piggy was interesting to try but a little too dense for us. Parking is street parking and the bathrooms were great! I love to describe Chef Izard's menus as putting things together you never thought were supposed to go together and then all of a sudden it's a delicious experience in your mouth. I would definitely suggest coming by and trying anything that seems interesting.

The place was packed, even the patio but the wait was only 15 minutes. It's a cool spin on diner food with a coffee bar attached. Not really an issue, but the ingredients were used pretty often between the dishes so they tasted a bit similar. We tried: - Spring Cold Brew - This Little Piggy - Sloppy Chicken Sandwich - Chili Crunch Chicken & Dumplings - Chili Crunch Cheese Fries The sandwich I think was the best, reminded me almost of a banh mi. The cold brew also was pretty good and would honestly come back just for the coffee.

Outstanding Food and Service. The food here was crazy. Good! We came in for the breakfast specials and they were wonderful. So was the latte and chai latte. As some of the best latte drinks! We've ever had. We started with the special omelette, which included tzatziki, chili crunch, cream cheese and herbs. That was the one we were fighting over. We also had the breakfast biscuit with pickled onions and pickles and chili crunch. Sooo good! This is a place worth going back to for sure. Had a very cool vibe too. Kind of a upscale old school diner. Nice neighborhood vibe too.

My youngest used to love LG when she was young and it was located in the west loop. She hadn't been in many yrs and asked if we could go to the newer one in Southport for nostalgia's sake. There were 4 of us and half the table loved the disco fries. Myself included. The other 2 did not. While the shrimp and grits were a bit unique (on brand with Stephanie Izard's restaurants), I really loved mine. My single only complaint is that I wish it came with more grits. I also had a cocktail. -- The Goat From Ipanema. I enjoyed the coconut and pineapple even though it felt pretty tropical on a freezing cold night. My kid liked her avocado toast, but it was buried under a mountainous salad. She regretted not asking to hold that, but loved the avocado toast I asked him if he liked his omelet and he quickly responded "This is SO good". So yeah, he liked it. We ended the meal by sharing the Cheez-It Sundae and I loved it as much as the first time I had it. It just hits right I wouldn't exactly go out of my way for LG, but if I'm in the area, I wouldn't be opposed either. But get a reservation. It doesn't have many tables and the place was completely packed.

Of the goat restaurants, Little Goat Diner might be my favorite but to be fair, it was the first one I went to years ago when it was still at its West Loop location. It's a cute spot and the staff is kind, but I feel like I've been enough times that I don't need to go again (I only went recently because my friend wanted to go). We got the okonomiyaki, bullseye french toast, cinnamon roll, and a milkshake. The chicken that comes with the french toast is yummy but the ratio is off aka there's really not as much chicken as I would want. The okonomiyaki was my favorite thing we ordered (although I have no comment on how it compares to actual Japanese made okonomiyaki) and I also love their piggy biscuit item. The cinnamon roll and milkshake were definitely skips for me.

I stumbled into this place on a Sunday morning, attracted in from the street by its 50's French hospital for tuberculosis vibe (I have never been in a French hospital). Seated at the counter immediately since there were no tables available. The food turned out to be excellent. The hash browns were perfect, maybe the best I've ever had. The seasonal omelette was delicious too, very fresh. The place was a bit expensive and the drinks weren't as good as the food though

The staff were super friendly too and gave us some awesome recommendations, which definitely helped because there were so many things I wanted to try. I ordered the Harissa Shakshuka, it came with roasted peppers, onions, tomatoes, garbanzo beans, goat cheese, and two poached eggs, served with sourdough toast. When it came out, the presentation immediately caught my attention. The two poached eggs were sitting right on top of this beautiful, rich sauce, with the goat cheese scattered throughout. Once I cut into the eggs and that runny yolk mixed into everything underneath... wow. The flavor was outstanding. The tomatoes and roasted peppers gave the dish a deep, slightly sweet and savory base, while the harissa added a warm, smoky heat that slowly built with each bite. The garbanzo beans were soft and tender, adding this really nice texture. And the sourdough toast was perfect for this. I could scoop up the sauce, egg yolk, beans, and peppers all in one bite. That's when the dish really came together. This was a seriously delicious breakfast. Every bite had something going on, and I'd definitely order it again.

Carrot cake sundae was tasty for dessert. Overall, food, service, and ambiance were great. My only complaint is the price per portion size; I know this is so common for nicer restaurants like this but it felt a little over the top. For a very pricey dinner (and we only got one drink each!), you'd hope to be leaving feeling more full than we did. The food was so good though, I might come back for a light early dinner or late night snack. Or if I win the lottery and can order two of everything!

For food, we ordered the Parsons Big Dipper Platter, the three-piece fish fry, and Cindy's coleslaw. Let's start with the best part of the meal -- Cindy's coleslaw. It was creamy, flavorful, and exactly how coleslaw should be. The three-piece fish fry was tasty as well, although the batter was a bit too thick for my liking. The biggest disappointment was the Parsons Big Dipper Platter. According to the menu, it included hush puppies, chicken nuggets, and fried shrimp. Unfortunately, when the platter arrived, there was no shrimp included. We brought it to the waiter's attention, and only then were we informed they had run out of shrimp. It would have been nice to know that before ordering. It's surprising for such a busy restaurant to run out of an item that's featured on the menu. As for the service, unfortunately it was poor and inattentive. We constantly had to flag our waiter down anytime we needed something. Overall, the atmosphere was great, but the service and food inconsistencies made the experience disappointing. Not sure if we'll be returning.

The half chicken was excellent, cooked perfectly and rubbed with delicious warming spices, the potatoes and pickled veggies the perfect counterbalance. Similar idea to the dish at Armitage Alehouse, but better seasoned and a lot lighter. The steamed mussels rivaled those of Armitage as well at a fraction of the cost. Very different broth, but the mussels themselves were excellent. We were also really impressed with the tuna tartare, an excellent blend of flavors and textures we could have had seconds on. The crispy shrimp rolls were a slight miss, largely because the shrimp were finely chopped, rather than sliced chunks. You ended up getting more the essence of shrimp than shrimp itself. We also felt the skillet cookie was just fun, no better or worse than we've had at places like Crosby Kitchen. Overall, a really good meal that scrapes being really great at times, and does it at affordable prices with friendly, attentive service.
