I had shrimp tacos and got two with tiny salad shrimp on it and covered in a chipotle mayo that overwhelmed everything. It came with a side and.i chose the pineapple Cole slaw. It was just ok. Crab dip looked like bean dip and was very fishy tasting. I4th time giving it a try. Not worth $18 For tacos and $15 for a drink. There are much better places to eat on the Intercoastal. read more

Food was great! We highly recommend the shrimp and lobster linguine. I'm not a huge lemon fan but this sauce was just the right touch. The lobster and shrimp had so much flavor it was great! The only things good I can say about this place are the location and the servers. We've been three times, twice the hostess was rude and condescending. The food was mediocre. I contacted them several months ago about how rudely we were treated by the hostess but never received a reply. I have eaten at Blue Drum twice. Both times the wait staff was frazzled, too many customers too many special requests and generally just not enough room for them to navigate. The food was just OK, regular size portions, prices were above average. My table mate ordered a hurricane, and they had never heard of that drink.!?! We came in and ordered well before happy time, were served prior to happy hour ending and yet we were charged full price. We did dispute it and they did reprice the tab. I attended a church ladies luncheon and we had reservations for 12:30, another group was scheduled right in front of us so we didn't get to sit down for about 45 minutes and then we were not able to sit together. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at this BLUE DRUM restaurant. Our party of five had reservations for the outdoor deck overlooking the water at 6 o'clock. We had made these reservations a week ago We received a call 15 min before our 6 pm reservation and was told that they CANCELLED IT DUE TO SOME RAIN. we had just driven 25 minutes to get to this restaurant We arrived 15 minutes early, only to be told again that our reservation had been canceled. We asked for the manager who was very rude and unprofessional and told us she basically couldn't do a thing for us and was not able to seat us inside. Other folks arrived as walk-ins and they were seated immediately. Upon arrival, we found that other guests who had just arrived were being seated inside, yet we were told that our reservation had been canceled therefore we could not be accommodated. The lack of flexibility and consideration was appalling. Despite the inclement weather, it was clear that the restaurant had the capacity to seat us indoors, but they chose not to. This level of customer service is unacceptable. We will NOT be returning, and I WILL advise others to avoid this restaurant if you expect even basic courtesy and professionalism. NOT WORTH 1 star!! Poor management and just giddy young hostesses who know nothing about customer service. read more

My family went to this restaurant for dinner. Arrive 5 min. Early and they did not have our table ready. However, when the hostess said something to the manager she rudely stated they are 5 min. Early not addressing us but, seemingly directing that it was our fault! Got seated about 15-20 min later. The appetizers were good however, it went down hill from there. My wife ordered the shrimp and lobster linguine. sauce was thick and bland as were the shrimp and lobster little flavor. My daughter had Cajun Trio was also bland. Neither finished the dish. My daughter and I went tonight to celebrate my 60th birthday. Maybe it was just an off night. Service was excellent and the drinks were good but that's where it ended. I ordered She-crab soup which I usually love. It arrived cold and warming it up didn't make it any better. It had no taste. Next was the seafood pasta which was to consist of lobster and crab stuffed ravioli in a vodka sauce with lump crab and lobster on top. Both the "lobster"and "crab" were imitation which the menu didn't specify but the server confirmed. At $28 a dish at a seafood restaurant, I expected to get real seafood. The dish itself also had no flavor whatsoever. We barely ate it and didn't even bring it home. I was excited to try this place for the first time but it was definitely a disappointing meal. A very large, loud alcohol rep. sat down two seats away from me. The conversation was loud and rude. They discussed poor tipping, bad customers, where bottles were placed, what she poured, etc. etc. At one point she was on the opposite side of me talking across me. Thats when I had it and told them to take their business out of my lunch. She told me this was a public place and she could do whatever she wanted. Fine you won. The crab cakes were dry and full with filling. Soup was not good. Sat there for 15 minutes after eating waiting for the check, went to ask the bartender if she could get our server- and she was piling food into her mouth behind the bar. With customers. That is unprofessional and gross. Just keep all of this in mind if you're deciding to go.. serious fixing needs to happen with food and service. Great location on the intercostal watery with absolutely fabulous views. We have been here multiple times for lunch , diner and happy hour. There are a lot of great options on the menu including the she crab soup, the clam chowder and the po boys. They recently began serving brunch on the weekends. 4 of us docked our boat at Blue Drum and despite them having a full waitlist, we were seated quickly outside near the water. Overall, great food, quick and friendly service, solid drinks, fair prices and beautiful views. The Mahi tacos were very tasty but the Mahi sandwich was even better. The crab dip was also very good. The one recommendation I have is to add draft beer to the bar!!! Nonetheless, not sure where all the negative reviews are coming from but I'm grateful we had a memorable experience. I ordered the lobster fritters appetizers. Fried balls for $18. Nothing special. The blue crab cakes were small and not great. My husband's grouper was dry and not tasty. If you want to have a heart attack from unhealthy dining, come here. It is a popular place. Location on the water is nice. Probably better off drinking not eating. My husband and I went to this restaurant for lunch for the first time a couple of Sundays ago. It is situated right on the Intercoastal Waterway, so beautiful views. My husband and I are impressed. I had heard they had some problems when they first opened up. Well, they're probably over them now. The food was delicious. And as I am a French Fry snob, I can safely say these were the best I have ever had. My husband had the lobster wrap, and I had the tacos with the chipotle aioli sauce. Oh my gosh, they were so good. One caveat: There are not a lot of tables inside. There's a lot of seating, but a lot of it is outside or bar stool type seating facing the ICW. (And I'm too short to get up on bar stools.) But the food is very good, and our server, Grant, was excellent; he was attentive while not being overbearing. I have every intention of revisiting Blue Drum. read more

The hostess was MIA for about 5 minutes when we arrived, other groups arriving were asking us if we had been seated yet.
