As recent movers to WA we were really happy to find good sushi! Blue Fin has it all! Nice decor, clean, friendly service, nice sushi bar as well as tables. We tried a bento box, Seattle roll, soft shell crab roll and CRAZY MONKEY! If you are a fan of jalapeño poppers this is the roll for you! Crazy delicious is more like it! Seattle is also very very good. The bento box had california rolls and while they were on the small side I really enjoyed them and would order a roll of them next time. Definitely a fan here of Blue Fin!

Pro--Service was great. I've had this place in my bookmark to try for a while. I wouldn't call myself a sushi expert but rather if it tastes good or not. Con: The food Husband liked his sushi roll and his order of zombie brain. My spider and spicy tuna sushi were okay. Not bad but not spectacular. My teen ordered their spicy chicken and she barely ate any of it. Both of us kept going back to saying our other place was way better. Glad we tried it and it's off my bookmark, but it's not going to be my choice if we are craving sushi. You can read my review to find out where I would go next time.

Sushi was heavy on rice. It also took a bit of time for the food to come out. Staff was friendly. Price seemed reasonable upon first glance at the menu but considering the amount of rice it made sense in the end.

We drove into Bellingham after 11+ hours on the road. Sushi sounded great. We called Blue Fin but they were doing takeout only. Well. We could do that. Ordered two sashimi combos with sides of sushi rice. Pickup was on time. The restaurant is in a mini mall. Inside the place was wrapped up with tables set up in front to handle take out. The staff checked my order before wrapping it up carefully. And thanked me. Covid has taken such a toll on small businesses. And clearly Blue Fin trying to survive. I hope they do because their sashimi was great. Tuna, yellowtail, fatty tuna, salmon and more. Fresh and delicious. And beautifully presented. Thank YOU Blue Fin

I love this place. Great, fresh flavors. I just wish they would open back up for table service after the pandemic.

Great teriyaki! Best I've had in Bham. Friendly staff and clean. Not much more to say ... and not much more needs to be said.

Best sushi in town. Decent prices. Reliable and consistently good. Have never eaten there, only takeout, and always good.

Most American restaurants tend to give you gigantic portions, you can't fit it all in your mouth at one time which is what you're supposed to be able to do. My friends had domburi (rice bowl) or noodles and they all said the food was delicious. I can only speak about the sushi, I'll try one of their domburi dishes next time.

And it helped that it was within walking distance. Upon walking in, the staff let us pick an empty table. The place is rather typical looking for a family-run Japanese restaurant. It was clean, which is the most important thing for these quick lunch stops. - Takoyaki: OK. Good size, covered in bonito flakes. It was quite well presented and tasted fine. My only complaint was that it was close to lukewarm not hot, so it didn't seem freshly made. The greens seemed unnecessary. - Vegetable Tempura: OK. Nothing special. A good tempura batter is very light and airy, but this one was a bit bready. - Shoyu Ramen: OK. Good size, and flavors where there. The pork was the thickest piece I've ever had in a ramen bowl, but very tender, so no real complaints. - Chicken Teriyaki Rice: Not recommended. Chicken was tender enough, but I prefer chicken with skin. Plate was drowning in sauce. Edible, but not enjoyable. Service was simple and nice enough. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Overall, we were satisfied. The food here caters to what locals want and expect, and they generally do a fine job with it. If I was hungry and was in the area, I would certainly consider it.

When they opened many years ago, there was a lot of well-deserved local buzz. From stunning decor to one of the longest sushi conveyor belts I've ever seen, it was worth a visit just for the visuals. But the food and service were inconsistent, and I ended up never going back after my first few tries. Fast forward to the other night, my daughter and I did a mini "sushi hop" and ended up here. I have to say, I was pretty darn impressed! The conveyor belt was still just as long, and the ginormous sculpture (imported from Thailand IIRC) was still looming over the place. But they seem to have settled into their groove after so many years in business here in the Ham. We enjoyed a variety of options from the belt, including a few tasty rolls, as well as some nigiri ordered off the menu. Everything was fresh, hearty, and delish. I thought the prices weren't too bad, either. I will definitely look forward to visiting here again next time I'm having a sushi craving. I do want to say something about the service, as I noticed some recent reviews have mentioned problems in this area. On our visit, our server was very responsive and the special menu items we ordered came out quickly. So, at least on this particular night, there were no issues for us. Hopefully they're working on this!
