We haven't eaten in yet so this is exclusively on the food. It travels well! Which is huge if you're taking it home. The sushi has been great every time. The bento boxes are fantastic (the teriyaki beef is the best) The avocado bombs are so so good. Highly recommend. Again all of these are after being driven home. Agree with another reviewer; time to pony up a few bucks and get your menus updated with new prices. Hands down, the best sashimi in Whatcom county. I have been twice now, both times ordering the chef's choice sashimi platter. The first time I did the small one and the second time I did the big one and shared. Both times I was blown away by the generous cuts and beautiful presentation, as well as the extremely high quality of the fish. You really can't do better around here. Other menu options were also delicious and interesting, and again the presentation is beautiful. It's definitely my go-to for bringing out of town guests and friends, as well as a great friendly date night spot. One little quibble: I think it's time to update the menu prices (they are outdated so the very friendly waitress kindly informs guests that the prices are a few dollars more than listed; it's not a big deal but I really do think it's time to print up some new menus). It's was alright. Food wasn't super great and I think that was mostly due to it coming out lukewarm. Our miso soup actually seemed like room temp. Wasn't the worst we've had but as a first experience it's left us with no desire to go back. They were also a little busy so service was a little bit off a miss as well. A sushi craving hit for lunch today so this place popped up. The pics looked great so off we went. It's a bit out of the way in the country but so worth the drive. We were greeted with a warm friendly welcome and grabbed a table so I could watch the sushi rollers. Kirin for me and Sapporo for the hubby. We started with a small sashimi boat which was 12 generous pieces of tuna, salmon, white tuna and Magoro. We also ordered a Cherry Blossom roll. The sashimi couldn't have been fresher..so good and tender and the Cherry Blossom Roll was just as tasty. Overall, a great sushi place with great service and very reasonable prices. read more

I've been wanting to come here since this place opened and we finally got to try it out! We arrived at 6 on a Friday night and was amazed that we were one of 3 tables at what I feel is a busy time usually for dinner. We stood at the entrance for awhile before being greeted which was kind of frustrating, when we were greeted we were told to sit wherever we wanted (they need a sign) we ordered the orange chicken bento box, kids chicken katsu, and Vegas roll the food was delicious! The roll was perfection my kids were all about the chicken and miso soup..i would eat here again..while we were there multiple people entered to pick up take out honestly I've never seen that many people order take out at a restaurant in a short time while dining.. read more

My daughter wanted sushi after her rollerskating lessons, so I found this place on google. The 2 sushi rolls we ordered were fresh, the miso soup was outstanding and the Avocado bombs were delicious but one didn't contain any avocado. We also ordered the 12 piece sashimi platter but they gave us the 12 piece nigiri instead. It was still good so I didn't say anything. My daughter liked the strawberry mochi and sauce for dessert. They are not very generous with their wasabi portions, they give you a squirt the size of a pea. I had to ask for more wasabi three times and each time I still got the tiny little pea size lol. The prices are really high, it came to $130 for an adult and a child, we have eaten the same amount of sushi for way less in Bham. But the waitress was very nice and so were the staff and the service was really quick, we were served everything very promptly! And there was a homeless guy coming in and out of the restaurant loudly harassing people until he was confronted by a brave customer who told him he needed to leave or else, (the manager should have done this way sooner). Then the homeless guy got arrested outside by two police officers so my daughter saw quite a show through the window lol. read more

The food here is pretty good but not the service. It seems like they're short staffed and need experienced servers. Our server said today was his first day. Im not sure if he had past experience serving or if he was just overwhelmed but he slammmed our drinking glasses down on the table and it startled us. We had to wait 10 minutes for water, 10 min for the miso soup and a half hour for the food. The deep fried avocado bomb and the monster roll were VERY GOOD, but both were lukewarm. And why it took forever to bring out the sashimi is a mystery. It's raw. What else is there to do with it? What else. . .plates weren't cleared off in a timely manner and after ten minutes of completing our meal we had to go and find someone to bring us our bill. As I said, the food here is GOOD but the service is lacking. Based on the previous reviews Ive read, the poor customer service and wait times for food seem to be ongoing issues that haven't been resolved yet. The last few times we've gone the service was lacking and the food tasted off. We were ready to try elsewhere. Decided to give it one last try and WOW!!! It was like going to a different place. The service was spectacular and the food was great! Huge improvement and so happy to see these changes. If you're not wanting sushi the hot meal variety is spectacular. Tonight, we had a delicious dinner at Nami's. We called Nami's at about 3:30 pm and asked about dining in. Yes! Made a reservation for 4:30 pm. So I just want to get the word out that, with a reservation, dining in at Nami's is an option again. They only had takeout for awhile. They had only one server tonight who was handling our table and collecting for takeout. But we were just happy to be dining out so patiently waited our turn to pay. Chef's Special roll is always yummy as well as beautiful. The Caterpillar roll is also a favorite. Totally worth it. We were the only diners at a table tonight! Spread the word. read more

Terrible! Placed an order for pick up on a Thursday night. It took 20 minutes just to order because they were so confused about what we where ordering. Spicy Tuna Hand Roll - NO RICE. It's wrecked them. They had never heard of it. Never in all my sushi eating out had I had someone say "NO, it MUST come with rice." We pleaded to talk to a manager or Itamae, they did not even know what that is.... Clearly no formal training. - which is fine. But geezzzz no rice. I don't want to carb load some of my rolls. Anyways. After the 20 minute ordering fest they said said it would take 50 minutes to make. Okay. We get there an hour later. Their are 2 people eating at the restaurant. 2. The Fire Cracker was the highlight for sure & very tasty. ALL selections by our group were "fresh" & very well presented. I have never left a restaurant without getting food. I am a pretty patient and understanding person. Tonight we went to Nami (my hubby, daughter and myself). We waited a whole hour for our food. When we asked the server how long it would be before our food was ready he said we were next on the list. We waited. And then waited some more. We then asked if our food was even stated. The waiter went and asked and came back and said no. We paid for our drinks and left. It wouldn't have been so bad if it was just the hubby and me, but we had our hungry three year old with us. In the little town of Lynden we didn't expect to find good sushi. They have good Dutch food here (I've heard) but Japanese is not really a big thing around these parts. We went to Nami and found not only was it good, it was GREAT! We had a big group and ordered a bunch of stuff - rolls, bento, teriyaki, etc and everything I tried was really good. Even the edamame was perfectly cooked and flavored. This would have been a 5 star review easy but for the fact that the food was brought out slow and sporadic. One of the girls had to wait quite a while longer than the rest of the group. We are definitely going back. Great place!! read more

Honestly, it was really good. The unagi could have been way better according to my boyfriend, but the service was excellent and the food rocked. The only trouble we had was when we wanted to leave. It took 15 minutes to get our bill. . . and even then we had hung out talking for 10 minutes without eating even before we asked for the bill. We've eaten here numerous times, as a couple and with groups of 6 or 10. It is not a fast food place, but we have not experienced the super long waits reported by others. We usually get our drinks right away, and miso soup and/or appetizers soon after we order, so we don't notice a problem. I love their rolls. My sons had the Yakisoba (noodles with beef or chicken), and they didn't like it. I took a taste and thought it was kind of bland, but maybe that is how the dish is supposed to taste? I have no idea. I wouldn't have ordered that anyway. Personal faves: Bento. Tempura. The rolls. Monkey Ball and Avaocado Bomb! Delicious. Very nice setting, clean. I wouldn't bring small noisy children here; the room gets loud. However, I've had friends do that and the other customers appeared to tolerate it okay. They have one corner table that can accommodate a group of about 9 (if they're cozy) and other tables can be scooted together for groups. Servers are very friendly and accommodating. read more

There are only 2 places in Lynden to get Sushi and Nami is the better choice. My favorites are the Lynden roll, Crunch roll and the yummy golden California roll. While it's never very busy the service is sometimes slow but definitely worth the wait because of their attention to detail. Stop in soon!! read more

I ordered three different kinds of sushi's and calamari. I ordered the calamari to try something. The calamari was chewy even tho it was deep fried. It was chewy and somewhat soggy with a little crunch. Lesson learned this place is only awesome for their sushi read more

Each time we celebrate birthdays, it's sushi at Nami, and we're never disappointed. It's definitely out of the way, and we avoid Lynden except for this sushi. We don't mind if our server doesn't hover, and we're pleased to stay until closing time. Thanks for all the fish! read more
