This is a decent spot for a family outing especially when you must be able to span both the anglo palate (stretching to tolerate Asian flavors ) and more adventuresome tongues. This place caters to the middling middle class of 'Muricans who enjoy a deracinated, creamier-tasting Asian representation on their plates. On a recent Friday evening the seating chart of the medium sized room was filled with families and a decent buzz. Not ideal for a date -- but if you have no choice then sure, come down to a sprawling mall parking lot and enter the non-descript facade of this eatery, across from a grocery store and a bank. I've been here only once with a family whose teen is thrilled for Ramen. The teen enjoyed Salmon Sashimi and Tonkatsu Ramen...which widened her eyes when they were served...the novelty of youth! Both seemed to be a "good" representation of both. Sophomoric, but sufficient. Everything is neatly presented but slightly not exciting. Takoyaki was rather spare in toppings but still crunchy fun. The sushi rice rolls we ordered were quite adequate and slathered with the fun American sauces -- but not stripped and tight. There are many families who obviously enjoy the Asian food here. However, I found this to be a forgettable representation of Asian food that fell flat. I wouldn't choose to return here. Nothing on the menu is original or made sufficiently well that I would return.

Very quick, friendly service. Good selection of ramen but not super flavorful. Sushi was good, edamame was fresh. Spicy edamame was fresh and spicy sweet.

I was so excited to try this place but left so disappointed. The amount of food for the price was a bit pricey. The chicken teriyaki platters could've passed as a child platter. The Chicken teriyaki ramen left a bad taste even hours after we left the restaurant. The flavor was just not it. The only thing I truly enjoyed were the gyozas and service. We were welcomed in right as we walked through the doors and seated right away. Our waitress was attentive and kind! The place is small but very calm and comfortable. Unfortunately though gyozas and good service are not sufficient reasons to return again.

My only complaint is that their sushi selection isn't as extensive as I want it to be. Given that this is primarily a ramen house though it is easily overlooked. The ramen is wonderful and easily the best you can get anywhere in the area in my opinion. You'd have to go up to Richmond in BC or down to the Seattle area to beat it and even then it'd be close. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean and the food is spectacular. What else is needed?

First visit to Hokkai on a busy Wednesday night (I was surprised!) Nearly every table was full when we arrived, we waited a couple of minutes for one to be cleared, then had a seat. There were two wait staff, they were running and running, I was impressed. It took a few minutes to be greeted, receive menus and waters, and to place our orders, but once we did, wow, I was more impressed. We ordered Milk Tea (like Thai Iced Tea) and a starter (Gyoza). Those arrived quick, then before we were done with our Gyoza, our entree choices arrived, so fast! The Gyoza were slightly overcooked (it was a pretty heavy sear on one side of the dumplings) but they were tasty, there was a scarce amount of dipping sauce, but it ended up being enough. The milk tea was tasty, no surprises. We ordered a Sushi selection/combo that included a California Roll, and two pieces each of salmon, tuna, hamachi, and albacore sushi. We also ordered a Spider Roll. The sushi was so good and so fresh, we were so impressed. We think this is the best sushi in Bellingham (we are purists and prefer simple sushi without a lot of fanfare or embellishment). Comments about the prices are not wrong, the prices are pretty proud, but the service is quick and the food is very high quality. Add to that the fact that restaurant was full from the minute we arrived until we left (and they were doing take-out, uber eats the whole time), the community likes this place, they're showing up to eat. I used to come to this space before when it was Teriyaki House and it has been cleaned up and improved since then. It has a more Japanese feel with the sushi chef front and center and the Noren (fabric banners) add to the authentic feel. We're looking forward to try the Ramen and other dishes on the menu.

Tonight I Had my sister pick up our order that I placed over the phone for 3 tonkatsu ramens (2 black garlic). Been our favorite dish there for a long time and always loved it. After she got home with the order we realized that there was absolutely no chasu (pork) in any of our 3 dishes. I called the store, and asked them about it and they offered an 8$ refund or extras for next time we came in. We live 30 minutes away. Not exactly like we could easily come back and get the pork or a re-fire of the dish, but that wasn't even offered to us. In their website, they charge 3.5$ for extra chasu. So they didn't even offer us the amount they charge for the protein. After discussing this I called them back to try and explain the frustration we had with this and was entirely dismissed by their manager. When I told her they charge 3.5$ for additional pork she didn't even know the cost, and then offered to give me 11$ refund, because I had received 55$/65$ of food I ordered. I didn't though. I ordered a pork ramen, and didn't receive the primary part of that order. If I wanted a vegetable option I would have picked that. She insisted that there wasn't any other option. Food is good, but if they make it wrong it's not their problem. Terrible customer service. Don't go here.

It was on the late side for lunch (past 1PM) so we were fortunate enough to be able to walk right in and get served quickly. The takoyaki wasn't the most octopus-stuffed I've ever had, but it was solid! My husband and I split the black sesame tonkotsu ramen and the yuzu shio ramen. Both were unique in their own ways; the black sesame flavor in that tonkotsu was super pronounced and it was a very hearty ramen. The yuzu shio was super light and very flavorful; the yuzu flavor was also super pronounced. Also love the amount of tender chashu slices they give you with each bowl. The lettuce in the yuzu shio bowl was not my favorite; I appreciate the thought of more fiber/something healthier but the soup is so hot that it cooks the leafy greens immediately and I don't love wilted lettuce in my ramen. But all the other toppings were great; bamboo shoots were super flavorful, nori was crunchy, and eggs were perfectly jammy. Great place to grab a bowl of ramen if that's what you're craving!

I ordered the "Red Hot" ramen, and I can't say the soup base is the most flavourful, mainly due to the spice ratio being slightly too much, but it's tasty nonetheless. If you live in Port Coquitlam, this place is worth a try. Long review: Ramen Bella recently opened up its second location in Port Coquitlam, and took over the Mexican gourmet that used to be there. This restaurant has got a great atmosphere, although it's quite quaint and still keeps the old tiling from the Mexican establishment, it fits it nicely although I can't say I feel like I'm sitting in an underground ramen shop in Shibuya. All staff followed COVID-19 procedures, wearing masks and practiced social distancing to the best of their abilities, they disinfected tables and chairs after people left and overall made the dining experience feel safe. We ordered, and our food came to us in less than five minutes, Igot the red hot ramen, and I gotta say it was pretty good. Usually spicy ramen ends up just being spicy and totally overpowering the broth flavour. I can't say the ratio was absolutely perfect, but it was a lot better than most other places. The portion size was great, but I'm not sure how I feel about bok choy and wonton crisps in ramen. The noodles tasted like good quality ramen noodles, but not home-made at the restaurant. This was quite minor but my soup didn't really come out to me piping hot, and more just hot in some spots and warm in others. I trust that it was a mistake considering my lady friends bowl was totally hot though. The gyoza we ordered with our meals was quite tasty. The pork and chives filling was what you'd expect for a restaurant like this, and the size of them was eatable in about two bites. These were super hot, so let them cool off for about a minute before you dig in! Overall if you live in the Tri-cities or Port Coquitlam, this is your best bet for ramen if you don't want to travel out to Vancouver. I think they should change the soup base to spicy ratio in the Red Hot bowl, to give it a little more flavour. Overall, this place has a lot of potential to be great, but for now, i give it a 3.5/5.

Adding to the outdoor ambiance inside, we were seated in a 'shaded porch' area, which still had plenty of room (such partitioning could reduce interior space). We were promptly greeted by the staff, who interestingly that day were not of Asian descent as typically found in Far East themed restaurants: more like your average Seattleite college-age server. I like that they bucked the stereotypes. As a ramen newbie, I was overwhelmed by the expert-level menu, the main reason I didn't give 5 stars. The menu starts with alcohol, leading me to look around for the food menu. There it is, tucked after several pages of booze and virgin drinks. The food section starts with the 'Botan Deluxe' (don't recall the actual name used) and lists the components using words that I as a newbie have either never seen before or maybe have seen but not understood, so my anxiety level spiked because I don't like being shamed into just ordering without understanding. Fortunately the waitress worked through this with me after my telling her my issue. The following page had a 'build your own ramen' blocked off into sections: noodles, broth, extras. With the extras, you get like 3 or 4 included (green onions, egg. garlic-something, seaweed, etc.) and more cost $1 extra (not printed on menu). I did the udon noodles, bone broth (insert fancy name but not with the fancy-name soy sauce added), and one extra ingredient over the included number. When asked 'tell me more about the green noodle?', the relatively new employee was unable to immediately describe, but went back and learned it was spinach blended. We also ordered a (fancy name) cucumber salad starter: yummy, sizable and recommended. The orders arrived promptly, with just a small break after the starter; the egg I ordered was replaced by bean sprouts: the served quickly and gracefully delivered the missing egg. Each ordered ingredient was placed as an individual island: it's up to the customer to blend or not (I enjoyed not mixing so to experience each flavor). The udon noodle was exactly as I had imagined and desired. My wife said she enjoyed her selection as well, although didn't pick out any unique flavor to the green noodle. The bill was right-priced if not even on the lower side for the neighborhood. We'll be back again to try more of the offerings now that we have a little bit of familiarity with the exotic descriptions.

Seems odd for a casino but I don't run the show. We like to get away for a night during the week every month or so and we like the Silver Reef. The take-out policy at Panasia is perfect for us. We order and bring it all back to the room anyway. Their menu is limited but they have some good stuff. I order the Mongolian Beef and we share Sweet and Sour Chicken. Mama gets the Yakisoba and we add their fried rice as well. All that feeds us twice each because we take the leftovers home the next day. Appetizers are limited to egg rolls or bbq pork. I've had both and prefer the pork with the hot mustard. The egg rolls were a little soggy last time. The MB is excellent. The right amount of green onions and the sauce is flavorful. I wanted to mention the sweet and sour chicken. They do it right. It's not just breaded chicken with that sweet red stuff drizzled on it. It's more like I remember from growing up in the SF Bay Area. The sauce was still red but it had red and green bell peppers in it with onion and pineapple chunks. Perfect. The Yakisoba is also excellent. Portions are good size and packed in plastic covered dishes. Prices are decent. At my local Chinese place in Stanwood I pay over $17 for less Mongolian Beef. Here it was less than $12 for more and it's better. When we order at our local place the bill can get over $80 fast for the same amount of food or less. Sorry there are no photos this time around. I recommend Panasia for the food alone. Being take-out only in a casino operation isn't the best concept but maybe they will open up their sit-down dining at some point. I'm not dropping a star because of the lack of dining in.
