It listed wall-support dimensions but left out critical electrical requirements and details about the non-combustible materials needed for the surround. Because of these omissions, we had unexpected extra costs for an electrician and additional materials that should have been disclosed from the start. We were also not informed that Delaware regulations prevent installers from connecting a new gas line--something they clearly knew ahead of time but didn't mention at the time of sale. This caused another unnecessary expense. What made the situation even worse was the response when we called after the installation to express our frustrations. They were flippant and dismissive, especially when it was suggested to create a checklist to help future customers avoid the same issues. If you're considering buying from them, insist on a detailed walkthrough of the entire installation process before committing--exhaust planning, electrical needs, non-combustible material requirements, and any state-specific regulations. The lack of clear communication made this more stressful and costly than it should have been.

They came in and rearranged the logs and suggested we purchase a new fan since the one we had was not working. We were told we would be charged $300-$350 for the fan, even though this part is much more affordable online. We were also told it would be $250 for him just showing up. When my partner asked if he took credit, he said yes and that the total would be $500. For less than 20 minutes of work, this really seemed like extreme price gouging. When my partner checked our account we were charged $600. My partner immediately called Mike to inquire about this undisclosed price change, Mike apologized and said he would refund $100. However, not even 2 minutes had past when Mike called back to argue that it should be $600 and not $500. His poor math at check out should not be at my detriment. We have many cameras in the house and $500 was heard clearly as the total. A text argument then began. Mike stated that if we needed the $100 so badly he would refund it because he didn't want us to not be able to eat for the week. I found this to be very rude and condescending. No, $100 is not a lot of money these days, but it is the principal. We will never recommend anyone call this man for service. He most definitely takes advantage of people.

I have used Kendall for 2 years now, to do our Christmas lighting on our home. The cost was exorbitant ($1750), but I figured it was not worth having to put them up and store them myself. Both years, they had to send someone back a few times to fix hanging wires and lights that were not secured correctly. I still tipped them $100 ea. year. This year, when they were taking the lights down, we asked to have our gutters cleaned as well. They quoted us for the job, and we told them we'd let them know. Meanwhile, that day, they took the lights down and cleaned the gutters before we agreed to anything. I was not at home, but when speaking to my wife, she said it appears they're tossing debris down from the gutters. At that time, I did not see it as a big deal that we had not confirmed to do the cleaning and was glad it was done. I came home, and there were leaves and debris ALL over our deck, outdoor couches, and furniture. We called, and they said someone would come to clean it up. 2 days later, someone came, but I had already cleaned everything up. All of this was really no big deal as far as I was concerned. We received an invoice for $230 for the gutters cleaning. Very long story short, we totally forgot about the $230 invoice. Last week without contacting us at all... phone, email, notta.. They charged my card they apparently had kept on file from the Christmas lighting without our consent. I have absolutely no problem paying the bill, but contact me. I asked my wife to call and say we'd at least appreciate a call before you charged our card. She left a message to call us back as they did not answer. Two days went by, and we received no callback. I then sent an email that was not responded to. Two days later, I sent it again. I have sent the email regarding charging a card they should not have kept on file nor charged without my consent 7 times now and have received no response. I the last email, I stated I absolutely would not be using them for Christmas lighting or anything else in the future. I did consider contacting my bank and reporting an unauthorized charge, but I do not dispute the charge. My problem was Kendall charging a card they should have never kept on file and then not returning a phone call or 7 emails regarding that. I was fine putting aside the problems we had with Christmas lighting and them leaving an absolute mess after cleaning our gutters. I am not ok with unlawfully charging a card they should have never had on file and then not responding to me. Save yourself the time and anguish and find another company to do business with.

My family does not recommend Blades HVAC. We have a geothermal system that had a slow leak at the…read morecirculation pump. On the pump housing, Blades put a service sticker with their phone number, approximately three inches from where the leak was happening. I thought great, I will call them and they will take care of it. When the service technician came out, he took a look at where the leak was and said that they do not service geothermal loop pumps, and charged me $125 to come say that; he was not even here ten minutes. I told him that I felt that I was being ripped off because I had described where the leak was, and they still sent someone to tell me they don't work on that part. The tech said I could take that up with the office. I called the office to describe that I would leave a critical review because of my experiences with them, and give them a chance to make it right. The guy in the office literally laughed at me and said something to the effect that just because a sticker was on the part doesn't mean they service that exact part. Their four-hour service windows without updates make it difficult to plan when they may be able to come out. Had to reschedule a prior service call because the technician did not come out until about 12:15 when they had given me a window from 8-12. I do not recommend using Blades HVAC. Traffic is unpredictable and 10 minutes is not even worth a discussion. Still it set the tone right away. This guy is all about customer service! He asked me to walk him through the house and show him what was to be done. He was able to get some pets stains out that was sure were there to stay. They took great care maneuvering the hoses around the house so they didn't damage the walls. I really can't say enough good things about Spot Doc. The price was fair. I will definitely use them again!
