This is a second home so the next time we came down and opened the door you could really smell the gas leak! I bought a gas detector at Home Depot and found the gas coupling at the feed valve was leaking. This was on a weekend but I needed to get this fixed for my family's sake. I gently tightened the coupling the rest of the way after finding it loose by about a 1/4 turn. Retested and the leak was gone. Dunno perhaps they were in a rush to get to another job but darn - that was kinda dangerous.

However no matter how hard I try they will not give me a service appointment. We have owned our home in Ocean Pines for a number of years and had Joe install 2 new (not inexpensive) fire places. He came out once or twice for service. At times the remotes will not work or the receivers melt and need to be replaced. Joe has been helpful in the past fixing them. Ordering new receivers etc.. I still do not know what I did to upset them except call multiple times for an appointment. Over the past 2 years I have left many messages and heard nothing back. Last weekend we actually pulled up to the business, and made an appointment with Joe himself which he just cancelled via text. I am shopping around because I have to....... We had a friendly Labrador, and although we brought her in when they came to refill the tank, they always made sure the chain link gate they used was closed when they left so Lacey could go out without us having to make sure her 'escape route' was in tact. This job was quite a challenge as it is a very old beach cottage. They gave honest advice and proposed a Fujitsu system with 5 units inside the house. They had challenges in getting this system installed, including going under a wet house to run the coolant lines to the opposite side of the house from the main outside unit. They did this job with great care (because of the old exterior), knowledge of the system, and professionalism of the installation. It is beautiful and has provided an extension of our season from early in the spring through to late fall. We are extremely happy. We thank them for their dedicated professionalism.

She listened attentively, gave suggestions , took measurements and told me, "give me a week." A week went by, then two with two attempts to see where we stood with our project. Clarksville Construction is the WORST contractor I have ever worked with. From day one, the project…read morewas a complete mess. The quality of the work was terrible, filled with mistake after mistake. The job involved a new door installation and the replacement of wood with PVC panels around the bay windows and chimney box--a relatively simple project, one would think. However, it was anything but simple for Clarksville Construction. Find a better contractor and save yourself all these problems. If you know of any, please add them in the comments. Here is a list of some of the problems encountered. * On the first day, the crew did not bring a generator, which caused the circuit breaker to trip repeatedly.  * On the second day, a drill was left on top of the chimney, which was very dangerous. My neighbors noticed it. They also commented that the crew's performance led them to decide not to use Clarksville Construction for their future projects.* I observed that a section of cracked 2x10 wood was used, despite my instructions to the crew not to use such materials. * Communication with the crew was very difficult. I can't imagine how anyone who doesn't speak any Spanish would manage. * The new door did not fit, necessitating the cutting of a section of the wall. * They failed to order a screen door and realized this 4 days into the job. * There were dark marks on the entire chimney siding. Scratches were noticed on the floor in the entryway.  *There were marks on the interior wall next to the door.* A stain was found on the rug. * There was a 1.5-inch gap at the bottom of the chimney box. * The wrong screen door was ordered, delaying delivery by 2 more weeks.* Insulation was not properly installed under the window boxes, resulting in my furnace running continuously. * The crew returned on February 6th, 2026, to address these issues. OVER four and a half months have passed since this project was to be completed. Unbelievably poor, a nightmare, and completely unacceptable!
