First, Juan came out and gave a verbal estimate, which was quickly followed up by a formal, itemized quote. Veronica adjusted the quote based on my budget and priorities, and the work was done the next day! Their crew pulled up to my house at 6:45 but waited until 7 to ring my doorbell (no idea why the other review said they started at 5am). We walked my property and I answered all questions and they immediately got to work! They removed tons and tons of concrete slabs and pavers and dirt (40 tons? 60? more? It was at least 2 trailers full and a large green dumpster filled to the brim!) from my front and back yards. They even used a backhoe! After everything was cleared away, they raked out the dirt to even it all out, and meticulously cleaned up any mess. I've never seen people work so hard, so fast, for so many hours (7am to 3pm). It's backbreaking labor and they would take turns swinging the sledgehammers when they needed to catch their breath -- there was zero downtime except a short lunch. Plus, they seemed to be actually enjoying themselves, as they were laughing and chatting the whole time without ever slowing down. It was pretty amazing to witness.

Josh answered my call super last minute on a Friday night and pulled together a van and a moving person - was SUPER communicative the entire way through and was kind enough to placate my father, who gets super flustered about every little thing. He showed up on time on Saturday morning at 830, thinking it would be a 3 hour move, and in the course of events where my father hadn't fully packed up the house, didn't know where the storage unit was, had stops along the way and a host of other things - the job ended up taking until 7pm at night. This was NO fault of Josh's - in fact, he went above and beyond to help my father, finding mementos my dad had overlooked, fighting off the new home owners to give them time to keep moving, managing wet boxes that my dad had left outside overnight in the rain...it was literally herculean. And he called multiple times during the day to give me updates (I'm not in AZ and was managing things from out of state) to let me know what was going on so I wasn't worried that he was taking his time or trying to gouge me on price. They went above and beyond and prices are super reasonable - $99/hr as of the time of this review. We would have totally been lost and screwed without Josh and his team - and the fact that he was able to make this happen on less than 12 hours notice is amazing in and of itself. I am sure I would have been pleased with any of the three of them, but I am really glad I went with Johnson Roofing. My experience with them started with Miguel Cepeda. His presentation was clear and detailed. He explained all aspects of the project and how they would get the job done. He recommended a few things that we're different than the competition. I was especially impressed with his explanation about venting and the specific vents he was recommending to replace my current vents. Most importantly, Johnson Roofing what's the only company that offered an easy to apply for payment plan through a bank that offered 12 months interest-free financing. We don't really see what any of these roofing companies are doing in detail while the project is being completed. So we normally have to go on faith that they did everything important and with the highest quality. At the end of the project, Miguel reviewed all the work with me via photos that were taken during the project. I could see in detail that a lot of plywood was replaced. Some companies might not have been as thorough or willing to do some of the things that Johnson did on its own. The review with Miguel gave me total comfort that's the job was done properly. The cleanup was excellent and so was the crew.
