We added both a heater and a chiller, and it has completely elevated the experience, making the pool enjoyable year-round. It honestly looks so expensive and custom that guests are constantly blown away when they see it. What impressed us just as much as the final product was how clean and organized everything was. Stay away from Blue Haven! Communication has been poor; the job has had problem after problem with a gross misrepresentation of the design selections. When you ask for a grey theme, are directed to that color scheme and instead you receive RED there is a problem. The foreman for the job will not return telephone calls, refuses to meet in person and is just plain awful to work with. PLZ READ BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO USE THIS COMPANY. I wanted to share my experience with Blue Haven Pools - Jacksonville FL Which was GARBAGE! Long story short just check my google and Yelp review. I would highly recommend that you find another company to do your pool. So let's start this thing off right. The reason for the 2 star review is only because the pool looks ok. I will start with the first person I interacted with which was my salesman JAMES LOVE. He was a character that's for sure. He sold me something that was lacking. He told my wife and I that if we ever needed some assistance during this process we could call him at anytime. Well low and behold, I had to call him about four times before I could even get him and his only response was "Sorry been really busy and I would have to call the office for any further questions. So once again I have to call him and ask some questions and yet again he never returned my calls. So pretty much sold me on a bunch of BS. I pretty much told him about how I felt about his lack of return calls (to which he really didn't seem to care about that). So I never call him back and request through the office that he no long needs to return my call as I moved up the chain to the next person (Steve Chapman). Wow what an uneducated individual as far as management skill goes. I also tried to comunícate with him on numerous occasions because I wanted to be part of the construction process and be there through it all. I sent him a message stating I would like a return phone call about the process and his response was "I DO NOT have time to call all my customers" my response was "I DO NOT think all your customers are calling you wanting to be there for all the process so I would like to be aware of when people will be at my home during all of this". He then replies that "he can not tell me when they will come during this process". So here we go on to the next person in the chain (Dane Quintal). As a GM he as well had a hard time returning my calls. At one point I had to call him 4 times before I was told by (Darcy) that he would return a phone call. I explained everything I went through during this process and it was as if he also did not care. I asked him to have his supervisor call me to which (Of course) he either did not pass it on or his boss did not care as well. So during all of this process there was such a lack of communication and I want all to know this. There is so much more that is so wrong with this company management and the lack of caring for the customer As a disabled veteran I had ask the Company if they gave military discount and they took $500 off. What a slap in the face. I paid over $60k for this pool and they give $500 discount? What a slap in the face. So the moral of this story is you should check other companies before you invest with this one. This company could honestly give 2 shits about how the customer is treated and how there is a lack of communication with the consumer. There so much more negativity but I think that most will get my point about what I am trying to explain. read more

Timeline of install and equipment for pool itself seems to be well done. But DO NOT let Blue Haven handle the deck install if you are upgrading to natural stone. This part of the project is subcontracted and the installers (Best View Pavers) do not know how or do not care to properly handle the product. I made several requests that were ignored. I trusted that Blue Haven was proficient with installing stone pavers since they offer several options themselves as upgrade over concrete pavers, but unfortunately this part of the project was obviously not their area of expertise. Just applying a littler more effort on the deck install would make a big difference on the end result. Use of wet saw and 1 step up on type of grout, both minimal expense in grand scheme of cost to put in a pool, would greatly increase the customer satisfaction of work done. Also agree with point from previous review... once you sign the paperwork forget ever talking to the original salesperson. They are removed from the line of communication. Blue Haven keeps a barrier between those that make decisions on costs and those the customer speaks with directly. Getting straight answers and details is a challenge (answers to questions were usually replied with... "this is what the office gave me"). the company finished my pool in April 2024. by October 2024 my pool was completely black. they said it was my maintenance company who destroyed my pool heater which leaked copper into the pool. Steven, tech there, sold me on his pool maintenance service After he said it was my pool techs fault. when I complained to blue Haven about the black pool they had someone fix the heater then they had tempool (plaster company) give a quote for repairing the pool. tempool gave the quote to blue Haven. blue Haven never once called me back to tell me anything about it. I sent them an email through their portal and got no response back. I have been trying to get a response for three months now. i called today and said I'll keep calling every day until I hear something. Dylan supposedly took responsibility for helping me. he didn't even have the courtesy of calling me to tell me to work with tempool. their warranty person sent me an email to work with tempool directly. they didn't even give me the phone number for tempool and never bothered to tell me the exact cost of the repair.Dylan was supposed to call me back three months ago to give me the exact cost of the quote. even now I still haven't heard from him and I now know I never will. read more

Great company to work with, and they had our pool done in under 4 months. Of the 3 bids we received they under by almost 30k, and listened when we asked for the basics. Great communication through text, and the builder app. Progress was often faster than expected, with a step completed weekly or at worst w/i 2 weeks. Can't reccomend this group enough, and will use them again of we wish to add a hot tube in the future. read more

Our pool pump stopped working and I contacted the warranty department immediately. Dylan followed up with me and arranged the service call to get us on the schedule. We found out that all the subcontractors were back logged and Dylan didn't want us to wait and he took over and had Alec out to replace the pump. Alec showed up first thing this morning and was so honest and took the time to explain to me the new pump and how to make it last longer. He was knowledgeable and professional. The pool industry has exploded in jax, with many waiting 8-12 months for a pool. We interviewed multiple companies and ended up going with Blue Haven due to their reputation, responsiveness, and pictures that showed quality of work. They cost was in the median range of the pool companies we had come out for a quote. From beginning to end, this experience was top notch! James Love was our sales guy and we highly recommend as he listened and really helped us make sure our design was perfect. AJ was our PM and did a great job at handling my on going questions that were daily/ weekly! Jake and Bob had building oversight and were on top of any request while adding much needed humor at times. Sean, Alec, Andre were phenomenal with pool school and making sure the chemicals were good to go! Sean went the extra mile and made sure that additional items were checked off and our house was in the same condition as prior to the pool build! As a 1st timer getting a pool installed and potentially last, I would strongly recommend to do a thorough research on all companies. Make sure EVERYTHING is in writing and take notes of phone calls and conversations. I would strongly suggest going with a company who does the work and not sub contract the work to third parties.. Our pavers are still loose, some uneven.. yet, no one seems to want to take accountability and we are told they are "too busy" meanwhile everyone got paid!! Due to the lack of communication, I would say, DO YOUR RESEARCH! There are a lot of companies out there. This was a 50K lesson learned. read more

We recently moved to Jacksonville and bought a house and wanted to put in a pool. Not being familiar with the area, we didn't know much about the pool builders. We did our research and had interviews with 3 companies, one of them being Blue Haven. This initial meeting with Blue Haven is where they already started separating themselves from the others. One company just said they didn't need to come to our house and just gave us a over the phone estimate, one company said they couldn't start work for 18 months, and the Blue Haven rep, Jim Harting, came to our house with computers and various measuring equipment and spent 2 hours developing our layout and providing a detailed cost estimate. It was not an aggressive sales pitch but rather here's what we do, here's what it cost, and here's all the reasons we build great pools. We were sold and Blue Haven got to work in about 4 weeks. The bottom line is Blue Haven built a beautiful pool for us in about 3 months and at exactly the cost initially provided to us. Our overall Project Manager, Jake Wenzel, has been putting in pools for many years and he is a master. He guided us the whole way and we always knew what the status of construction was and what was coming next. The equipment and skilled personnel they use were outstanding and very professional. Steve Chapman coordinated a lot of the activities and was great to work with and kept us informed. After the pool was completed, Sean Blouin, the Field Service Manager, conducted the very beneficial Pool School for us and helped us with all the particulars of using and maintaining the pool equipment. I'm an engineer and pretty particular about who does work for me, and I can tell you that you can't go wrong with Blue Haven for communication, quality of work, cost and overall professionalism. read more

Do not use Blue Haven Pools Jacksonville. While any pool building process will have its issues Blue Haven's lack of attention to detail and poor management of their sub-contractors is not worth the end product. Here is a condensed review of the issues we had: The initial measurements were done incorrectly causing us to change the design of the deck. The sub-contractors continually used the wrong side of the house to access the construction area causing damage to both sides of the house instead of just one. One of the subs even urinated on our A/C slab right outside the window where my wife was working. The wrong heat pump was ordered, delivered, and installed. Wasn't caught until we noticed and made them replace it. The replacement pump still doesn't have the amount of BTUs the salesman said it would, but they claim the one we have is the only one. They incorrectly ordered the pavers and were initially several pallets short until we caught it and had them order more. Our HOA made us put a stucco wall around the pool equipment. They charged an exorbitant amount of money to do a wall that matched our wall around the A/C pad (stucco to match the house on all sides). When it came time to build it they said they were only going to do stipple texture (not matching the house but easier to apply) with a "paper top". How long would that last? After arguing back and forth they finally agreed to do the proper job that we agreed to when we signed the contract. Then they incorrectly applied poly metric sand and hazed the pavers. Took 5 attempts to clean them and had to have a meeting with the owner who tried to say they looked gone before the sand company rep said they were still hazed. Damaged 10-20 pavers trying to clean them that needed to be replaced. They left a ground wire unburied and sticking up several inches off the ground creating a significant trip hazard. We were consistently told subs would be there the next day and they wouldn't show up for three with no call from Blue Haven. They placed the heater too close to the house and the wall around it was built too close to the heater. The proper distances are in the owner's manual and failure to follow them results in decreased efficiency of the heater. We didn't catch this until the end so it was unable to be fixed. Their idea of rough grading is just to smooth over the mounds of dirt next to the pool. As they left it, it took hours of work to properly grade the ground so it sloped away from the pool and that once grass was put back down you actually mow it. After startup the pool pump started to overheat. Took three days for anyone to come look at it, and another day for an electrician who said everything was fine. A second electrician comes out says there was a resistor installed that shouldn't have been there. He fixed it and said it would need to be reprogrammed. Never heard from Blue Haven on reprogramming, calling to make sure it works or even to bring the final acceptance letter to date. Their process are not better than anyone else's. And their attention to detail and management of sub-contractors is shameful. Unless you want to stay home for 16 (they said it would take 10) weeks to make sure they do things correctly, find another pool builder and save yourself the stress. read more

If I could give Blue Haven a six, I'd do it. This was the best experience of all of my contractors in Jacksonville over the last five years and I have employed over 30 in the complete rehab of my beach house. The sales pitch by Mike was comprehensive and his responses to follow-up questions were tailored to my understanding without being condescending. The project manager Bob was quick to respond to all questions as well and kept me up to date with all aspects of the job. I am extremely picky and this team was on time, cleaned the work area each day, coordinated all of their sub-contractors as well as coordinated with another contractor I had on premises with utmost professionalism. Every person I encountered through months of installing a pool, spa and firepit were polite, professional and interested in my project.
