Since the management change two months ago, this facility has unfortunately gone downhill. My 2-year-old has come home with more unexplained injuries in the last few weeks than in our entire two years here. These wounds are often not treated properly, and there have been multiple times where no incident report was filed -- and neither my husband nor I were informed by staff. The assistant director, Vanessa Ortiz, has extremely poor communication skills. It often takes more than a full school day to get a response to emails about serious issues like injuries. When we've tried to address concerns in person, we're met with excuses, not answers -- and certainly no sense of urgency. Also, if you have an issue and ask for the teacher's names (since we don't know their names due to so much turn over), don't expect to get them without the director reaching higher above her and then telling you to reach out to the area or regional director :) Shockingly, some teachers have even stepped in during conversations with other staff and *yelled* at us while trying to defend one another. The stories we're told rarely add up, and it feels like there's a serious lack of transparency and accountability. Supervision in the classrooms is clearly lacking, and poor communication seems to be used as a cover-up rather than a fix. There has also been an alarming amount of turnover among staff and students in just the last two months alone. That said, I want to give a huge shoutout to Mrs. Margie, Mrs. Wanda, and Ms. Jasmine. These amazing ladies are the only reason we're waiting until summer to pull our son. We truly appreciate the love and care you show our baby -- thank you from the bottom of our hearts. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Cadence. We've had our daughter at Cadence since she was 12 weeks old, and as a new parent it is a stressful experience transitioning to daycare for the first time. Casey, Ms. B and the amazing infant teachers (Ms. Isabel, Ms. Silvia and Ms. Katie!) made us feel comfortable and at ease with the process. They provide lots of feedback during the day (including photos) and we could not have felt more reassured that our daughter was in good hands during the day. When I drop my daughter off in the morning, every teacher and staff member knows her name and welcomes us in. They take the time to know each student, regardless of their classroom, and I can tell they are passionate and love what they do. I am happy to say that the Phoenix Children's Academy (f/k/a Peanut Gallery - Galleria) has gone through a transformation that is almost magical. My daughter is currently 17 months old and has been attending the pre-school since she was 3 months. When she first enrolled, the school was known as the Peanut Gallery and even though it had some decent perks (connected to the office tower I currently work in), it also had a lot of things that needed to change. I am happy to say that over the past 6 months, since the new Director and Assistant Director came aboard, Phoenix Children's Academy has really morphed into the daycare/pre-school that I want for my child. The transformation has not been in name only. Sherri and Linda have brought professionalism and education back into this daycare/preschool. From the caregivers/teachers being educated, nurturing and friendly to the fact that the place looks fantastic has really made me happy that my child attends. I love the benefit of being able to check on my daughter at any time on any given day. This is a must for me and I feel good knowing that I have never once felt uncomfortable popping in whenever I feel like it. Her current caregiver, Margie, is great with the kids and my daughter has really taken to her. My daughter's vocabulary has increased since being in her class and she is learning so much. I believe she is engaged and that makes all the difference. I hope PCA will continue on this positive path and I plan to keep my daughter here as long as it does. read more

My son is 9.5 months old and has been attending Phoenix Children's Academy since he was 6 months old. I feel that I lucked out because they had openings for his age group right when we moved to Dallas. His teachers (Ciboney, Zainab, Angela and several other afternoon teachers) have been amazing. As a first time mom, I have not known exactly how to implement feeding schedules or other little issues that come up but I know that I can ask any one of his teachers and they will help me; give advice; and help get a structure or plan started at school. I often tell them that without them, he would probably still be drinking only milk and not yet sitting up! I can honestly say that they have helped me tremendously and I love that each of them love my son as well. His diapers are changed every two hours; his feeding schedule and nap schedule are consistent; he never cries when I leave (yet he does get excited to see me when I pick him up--which I love!); and they are interested in his entire family. What can I say--I love his teachers. As for the rest of the school, even teachers that are in other classrooms know the kids by name that aren't in their class. When we walk in, everyone will say "hi" to him and call him by his name. It is so nice and makes me feel so comfortable. The building is very clean, smells nice and has a very comfortable, yet sophisticated look to it. The director, Linda, is so sweet and very nice. And, from what I've heard, several teachers followed her to this school so that speaks volumes about her character. The assistant director, Emily, is so accommodating and helpful and even helped me decide on a convertible car seat when we needed to transition my son. I feel like I have several partners that are helping me navigate this thing called motherhood. Since I don't have family in town, this is HUGE. I would recommend this school to everyone! I have had nothing but good experiences with everyone who works at Cadence! It didn't matter that my child wasn't in their class every teacher knew their name and would say hello and goodbye. There is nothing that makes a mom more nervous than leaving her child in someone else's care. Mrs. Leshia Magee has help me leap over that hurdle tremendously. She makes sure to treat each child as if they are special, and my child has been no exception. I admire her for such attention to detail, her open communication about the children to the parents, her professionalism, and her nurturing, caring spirit. She treats the kids as if they are her own. The way the children are cared for and learn is very important to her. She is always willing to lend her expertise to the teachers and always looking for ways to improve the program. Our son has been attending Phoenix Children's Academy since he was 12 weeks old. He's now 13 months old, and we are still very happy with our decision. There are several day cares closer to our home, but none impressed me as much as Phoenix. He is so happy to see his teachers each day. My daughter has been attending Phoenix since October 2016. Let me just say...her teachers Ms Kandace and Ms Lauren are THE BEST! My daughter was potty trained within a few weeks of starting daycare! I can't speak highly enough about our experience with Phoenix Children's Academy! My baby boy is in the infant room, Brilliant Beginnings, with Ms. Lois and he absolutely loves her! She is amazing with the babies. I have dropped by at various times during the day and it's always the same - she is singing, dancing, playing, cuddling with the kids. Whatever it takes to make sure they are engaged and happy. The directors at PCA are phenomenal as well, so easy to work with and really cares about the children. The facility is very well kept and I can see all of the classrooms when I walk through - all of the kids are engaged in activities and the staff all seem to be on their A-games. Our baby started here when he was just 3 months old! Just like any new mom, I cried my eyes out but we are very happy about our decision to send him to this school! We really enjoyed our baby being cared for by Ms. Maria, Ms. Carrie and Ms. Silvia. They were great! His new teacher Ms. Katie is amazing! God bless this woman! Phoenix Children's Academy has been incredible. Our daughter has been attending since September and we couldn't be happier with our decision to bring her here every day. It's evident how much her teachers love the kids, as well as the directors. There are teachers from older classrooms that know her by name as well. I can honestly say I've never been as happy with child care as I am with Phoenix Children's Academy - Galleria. My child started here last year at 2 1/2 years of age. It has since been a full year and we have come leaps and bounds from where we were before. My child start at PCA speaking only about 15 words. She is now speaking in complete sentences and can communicate effectively with her classmates, teachers, and family members. I know she is well-cared for, loved, and is able to express herself at this school. No matter what time of day I visit the school, it is always clean and well-maintained. The location is great - it is attached to the Galleria. There is a code to get into the center and a staff member is always in the front to see who is coming in and out. The playgrounds are fenced in and they get plenty of outside time every day! PCA has recently rolled out a new nutrition program and it's been awesome! The program focuses on whole grains and fresh food items. I am very pleased with this new transition and my daughter really enjoys the new food options. Communication between the staff and families is really great, too. Each week we receive an email that shares the meals and snacks that will be offered. Newsletters are also sent out with upcoming events, recently added items, and a brief curriculum they will focus on during the month. I also receive updates from the teachers and areas we should work on at home. Overall, I could not have asked for a more positive environment to send my daughter to everyday. This center is ok. My son just moved up from the preschool classes and I feel as if my son has not learned very much of anything here. It's more like a daycare! The teachers and directors come and go so frequently also which I hate, soon as you or your child gets use to someone they are replaced. Now that they have went up on their already high rates I'm pulling my son out very soon. It's not worth the money nor the time! read more

My son attended phoenix and became very dissatisfied over the next few weeks and I'll share with you why. I am a very particular parent when it comes to my childs daily routine and school. Phoenix has had a noticeably high turnover in staff which is a red flag to me, he has had 6 different teachers in the 3months he attended Mrs. Leisha was by far the most loving and attentive others were noticeably miserable just being there, I don't want to bring my kid around these miserable looking people. Another thing was the daily reports..... if the report mentions he ate at 330 and had a nap at a certain time I sure as heck expect that to be accurate and it was NOT accurate multiple times he hadn't been fed and the report said he was when he wasnt same with nap time, not good. I had high hopes at first but that was gone quick, he is finally settled in another day care full time, the right school can make a huge difference in your child's well being. read more
