Simply the best. The best - yes, the best bakery I've been in New England. And it's become an icon in the community of New London and up and down the Kearsarge area. As well, it has garnered the distinction as one of "The Best of New Hampshire". That speaks volumes Blue Loon also has the happiest staff working there. The owners, Lori and Mike, have made it a purpose to treat their employees like family, to train them in customer ethics and to support them in a community where the safety net for lower paid workers is often lacking. The result is a courteous, efficient team who will go to the end to give the customer what they want. Then there is the food. Superb scones, crusty baguettes, succulent muffins, and delicious sandwiches and salads, all of them using local farms and fresh ingredients. One of the highlights of New London. Immaculately clean.

The coffee and window were good. But this is the real story of my visit.

So, I'd like to split up my review a little. What are you looking for? If you want a lovely coffee shop with great ambiance and bakery items, 5-stars. They even have some nicely sized and spaced tables that appear conducive to working at. If you want a place to get some work done that requires internet, don't go here. I so so so wanted this to be my place but the internet here is TERRIBLE. I have spent the last hour sitting here trying to get a shred of work done but I have to attempt to re-connect every 3-4 minutes. I thought it was me but eventually went up to ask about it. The answer I got was along the lines of "Oh, we know. When it's a little busy the internet doesn't work". When I suggested maybe working on that I got a little giggle and that they'd considered it. So, I will go here when I want to sit around and talk. When I want to work, I'll go back to Grounds a couple blocks away.

Holy cow is this place just amazing!! Everything is extremely fresh and tasty. Parking on street and in back. Indoor and outdoor seating. Price point on items is on the highish side but honestly each item is a masterpiece and well worth it. You can tell the food is made with passion and attention to detail plus I love to support local businesses. I had the avocado toast. After I stared at the art before me for awhile, I dug in and oh so good. Just a hint of lemon aioli on my palate and the freshest avocado.. oh my. You get a choice of bread and you can add egg or bacon. My hubby had the pressed egg sandwhich and he raved about it the whole time we got a selection of the pastries and again...mind blowing!!! Great casual areas to hang inside gives this idyllic spot major props.

What a nice find. We're staying at the Follansbee Inn a few miles down the road and just exploring the countryside when we happened across this bakery. It is bright, clean and loaded with goodies. Our coffies, one dark and one light roast were perfect. I had the gingerbread scone and Irene had a coffee bun. Outstanding. Her bathroom was clean---always a big thing with us. I looked around. There's plenty of seating, people out with their computers. This is the country version of Panera. This place is absofrutely amazing. I ventured here with my friends after a long hard day of skiing and I was very well rewarded by the sweet treats they had to offer. 10/10 food, service, and aroma were all exquisite. You should most definitely stop by on your best trip.

Traveling in New Hampshire and popped in one morning. Delicious homemade baked goods in a homey spot. Got a variety of pastries, all fantastic. The laminated dough items were standouts--the croissants and morning buns. I'm sure the sandwiches and breads are also great but will have to try those on a future trip to the area. Very friendly staff to boot.

At every step along the way ... and that includes planning, discussing menus and prices and venue setup .. the staff was responsive, kind, fun, clear and very professional. On the day of the event the lovely Oak Room was the perfect setting for our party, the buffet that was set out for us was beyond delicious, and throughout the day waitstaff were whisking seamlessly about making sure plates were cleared, drinks were poured and we wanted for nothing. Among the outstanding menu items: a smoked salmon bagel bar that was fantastic (we're from Maine and very picky about our seafood!) I was so frazzled by then, I couldn't think straight and was planning on sleeping in my car, hoping I wouldn't get woken by the cops or a snow plow. But the wonderful woman who had just gotten off duty at the front desk heard my story, she quickly arranged for me to check in at the Inn. The room was nicely appointed and cozy and I was infinitely grateful to be snuggled in a very comfortable bed for the next 18 hours of howling winds and so much snow... The entire staff looked out for me as I waited out the storm and worked at calming my nerves enough to get back on the road. I had dinner the next day from the restaurant down stairs: a delicious burger the host brought to my room. The next day the same lady who saved me from the gas station floor leant me her own snow brush (which was a beaut!) so I could get back on the road, much calmer and happier than when I had got off. Thank you for the rescue and for the yummy chocolate chip cookies, New London Inn! I am forever grateful

The proceeds from the event will be shared to support youth recreation in New London as well as college and trade scholarships, literacy initiatives, and special charitable assistance by the Rotary Club. This year's event was a mid-scale plan and hosted 11 food trucks ranging from French fries and hamburgers to Burmese food. It was a superb and eclectic variety of food. The weather cooperated as it was an absolutely gorgeous day. However, the size of the crowd exceeded all expectations and over 1,200 people showed up to enjoy a delicious array of food The busiest truck was perhaps a grilled cheese truck that was the favorite with children and there was easily a 45-minute wait to get food. Next to it, a Home made French fries truck was also commanding half hour waits. On the other side, a Jamaican food truck, a Cajun truck, and a seafood truck with amazing lobster rolls were some of the salient ones. Towards the middle, a Burmese food stand and a cupcake dessert truck were available. Two great local establishments also made a hit. Grounds Coffeehouse provided muffins and gluten-free bakery items and fresh-roasted coffee. And Salt Hill Pub's local brew selections were presented in a fenced-in area. It absolutely rocked this year. And next year it's going to be even better.

The tables and chairs are thick, heavy, rustic wood reminiscent of a country kitchen, and the acoustics are pretty good! No echoes or a need to yell to friends or family at your own table. The service is stellar! Lots of students work here and they are top notch. The food is outstanding. Their hash browns are literally the best I have ever had. They are wispy and crispy, and will not leave grease on your plate or in your belly. The eggs are always perfect, no matter how you ask for them, and the pancakes are the best you can get without making them yourself at home. They are served with a syrup, but for $2.00 extra (at the time of this posting), you can get real maple syrup instead. By the way, their coffee is not limited to regular and decaf. The place is also tastefully decorated with lots of greens and light colors. Their menu is varied and contains not only smoothies but many other offerings, snacks, and catering. I would have given it four stars but my smoothie was, although tasty, not cold enough - almost warm. Which on a hot day, does make a significant difference. A smoothie should be cold. Really cold. Cold enough to give me brain freeze. I'm going to try a second visit to see if the look-warm smoothie was a mistake or a practice. Still, it was a pleasant visit.

I was in there to order 5 sandwiches for a family lunch, but decided for our health not to and instead just bought a couple of bottles of water. Jake's lost around $50 on us that day for everything we would have bought for lunches (sandwiches, chips, dessert, etc.) Today I returned. Two customers walking around not wearing masks. A red-faced swaggery customer behind me--not wearing a mask--overheard me ask about masks in the store, and he starting taunting me for the type of mask I was wearing.
