    New, huge outdoor covered patio

I really want to like this place as we have been here many times and the quality of the food is superb. I have been coming over here since the 1970s. Today Monday, we walked in here at 6:00 PM. It is now 8:30 PM and we just got served our food. We were seated at 8:00 PM. We were second in line on the waiting list. Peter Christian's is an iconic restaurant and bar and lodging facility that has been providing service since the 1970s. People come from all over the place. The food is great. The ambiance is casual, relaxing and enjoyable. The servers are eager, helpful and courteous but it seems they need leadership. The undue delay was supposedly because they had no clean silverware. We are locals and waiting was, although an imposition, bearable. There were people who drove close to two hours to eat here and they were left hanging. The bar is superb, Ryan was a machine, on top of everything. Great beers, great drinks, great crowd. This made our undue wait more than bearable. Once we were seated after two hours, it was a different world. The food was superb. The seafood chowder was delightful. Our party of four was delighted. With so much going for PCs, I hope they can straighten their reception and seating problems.

Steak tips and mashed potatoes with delicious squash

I searched for a place that served mashed potatoes because my.aunt was craving them and this place popped up. We got there just as they opened and were greeted by a very friendly hostess and were soon sitting at a beautiful booth. This restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. They have a small gift shop in the restaurant and will add any items you choose to your bill. I highly recommend the mustard sauce! It's amazing! If you want to try it just order the pretzels. We ordered way too much food, but we had a great time. The pretzels are delicious and I don't know how they season the chicken wings but they didn't need any sauce at all! The small salad is quite large and the steak tips were tender and delicious! The coconut mojito I ordered was soooo good and my aunt said she could sip on their strawberry margaritas all day! We had a wonderful time here and only wish we had ordered less and had room for dessert! Delicious food and extremely great service!

The place was great. We came as they were just about to open on Sunday and there was a line already. We got seated quickly into a booth. The atmosphere is nice but there were a lot of flies in the restaurant. I ordered French onion soup which I liked. I also ordered the lobster ravioli which was okay. I liked the stuffing and the lobster on the side but the actual pasta was a bit hard and I wish that the ravioli was just a bit smaller. I also tried the fish and chips from my husband and that was delicious so I would recommend!

Solid pub food. Wife and I had the Ceasar with chicken, French Onion Soup, and Shepherd's Pie. Really liked having small and regular portions available for many of the dishes. Soup was a little light on the cheese. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Would have loved to sit outside on an early June night, but it was cool and there were no patio heaters.

Wonderful food, best fries ever!!! Service was exquisite and the staff was so kind and everything came out extremely fast. 10/10 would recommend the warm family environment.

Outdoor seating! If you can't get staff, just close and end the nightmare!

We gave PCs yet another try, and once again, disappointment! The inside was at best 20% occupied, outside had a couple tables seated. We were told it would be a five minute wait and that there was one group(couple) ahead of us. After fifteen minutes we left! Last time we went there, the food was okay. Hostess was also serving food. If you cannot staff for 25% occupancy, just shut down the restaurant as it's a joke. No replies on Yelp says it all, you either don't care or are oblivious!

First time here. Stopped by after hiking for lunch. Nice and quiet, great service. Sat in a booth, which was very private. Started w the Seafood Chowder (5/5). Loved it. Nice, flavorful thin broth packed full with shrimp, scallops, clams, crab, haddock, and potatoes. Served w 2 slices of crostini. My friend had the French onion soup. She enjoyed it but preferred the broth to have a deeper flavor. Pre lunch we both had drinks. I had the hot apple cider whiskey smash. Hot cider with lemon and whiskey. So flavorful that I'm going home to make some more. My friend enjoyed the winter giblet w vodka, rosemary, pear and lime. We could of sat there all day drinking these spirits but we had to drive so one drink a piece (sadly). I had the chicken BLT so delish!! Seasoned, thinly cut grilled chicken w bacon, lettuce, onion mayo served on a bulky roll w side of thin fries. Very filling. My friend had the French dip sandwhich. She enjoyed it as well. I now can't want to come back for dinner!!!

    Fish and chips

Steak tips and fish & chips were great -- as are the truffle fries. Did not enjoy the artichoke dip or French onion soup. Main two issues: service and quality control. We were pretty much forgotten about most of the night even though it wasn't busy. Also, I ordered a martini and was served a glass that was moments away from shattering so make sure you check your glass before you drink from it.

We were frequent visitors before they did the remodel and the interior still looks cozy so we were relieved to see not too much had changed. We do miss some of the items on the old menu (hubs said they had *the best* wings- please bring it back!). We stopped in for lunch après-ski/riding @ Mount Sunapee and left the tavern very content. The ambiance is always nice with a very friendly and welcoming staff and warm atmosphere. Hubby got the meatball parm sandwich and french fries. When it first arrived, we were surprised by how small it was! But after he finished it, he said it was actually a good serving size. I stole some fries and they were gooood. Perfectly cooked with the right amount of crunch and most importantly, they were hot. I ordered the quiche of the day, which was salmon and spinach. Never had it, had to try it, and it was so amazing. I was worried it would be a little "fishy" but not at all. Nearly every bite, had a piece of salmon- and you can tell it was fresh salmon, not canned. The salad was fresh and just the right size to accompany my quiche. When PC was closed for a bit during the remodel, that was what I missed the most! The salads there are so fresh and the greens cleanly washed...perfect! Gave 4 instead of 5 stars because it was a larger check than we had remembered it being pre-remodel, but then again maybe pandemic related to pricing too. Glad to come back and looking forward to more visits! Love that they're open when so many local restaurants are closed on Mondays!

This is our second time back here and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious. The wait was quick and less than 10 minutes quoted. Whistle pig ten-year whiskey was delicious and smooth. Chamomile tea & honey was even yummy. Our waitress was friendly and food came out pretty quick. We love the ambience. Very comfortable and cozy.

This was my first time at PC's in this location, but I was a huge fan of the old PC's in Hanover. When I was young we used to go there and eat nachos while playing backgammon. Those days are gone, but I found myself nearby and had to at least try to eat here for the nostalgia, and also because the hamburgers smelled so good, and because they had outdoor seating. However, trying to walk in on a Saturday afternoon, they had an hour wait for outside, but no wait for inside. So we did our first inside meal anywhere since early March. And, if you haven't been to PC's before, their booths are super high, gorgeous dark wood. You could not be more protected and is a much nicer atmosphere than plexiglass. Plus, I could open the window behind me for even more ventilation. I will say, every table in the place was full, but they were well spaced. But I wouldn't have stayed if we couldn't have hidden in that corner booth. The menu is small, but good. It's pub food. They have gluten free buns and bread which I really appreciate. It doesn't say it on their menu, so please fix that! I asked because I knew they did. The staff was great, and all wearing masks. The food: I had calamari (probably not gluten free considering I fell asleep shortly after), my friend had the clam dip and chips, which was odd. It's a big bowl of cold and watery ranch dip with some hidden clams. And clearly the chips were homemade, but maybe had been sitting a little long. We had the lobster roll, nice and gorgeous (better be for $25) and a burger, which was fine. Not exciting, but all decent. Oh, and there's a really fun gift shop in the parking area that you should poke around in. If you haven't had the PC's honey mustard, you need this in your fridge. It's a staple for me for 30 years.

Almost standard pub-fare, very dark atmosphere. Better food or ambiance would uplift this location by a lot. Service was very good.

My wife is a big burger fan (FYI: she raved about her burger, too), so I decided to try the place out, since we were in the area. Bit hard to locate, but parking was fine. Since the weather was good, we ate outside. There is both open air & tent-covered seating options. Speaking of seating - you must memorize your table # BEFORE going inside to order as meals are delivered to your table. I ordered the "Big Daddy M": 6oz beef, medium-cooked, with Bayley Hazen blue cheese, caramelized onions, bacon bits, garlic aioli, bibb lettuce and red onions. What a heavenly, savory combination. Each bite was full of flavor. And the French Fries? Well, super tasty as well - I ate every potato fried crumb. At other places, fries are usually bland, but not here. The order service inside was pleasant and quick; be sure to note the chalk board with a list of food options (e.g. my Wife ordered a custom burger, just the way she wanted). After ordering we went back outside to our #'d table - wait for the food was relatively quick. When done eating, just leave your baskets, etc. on the table (there is a sign stating this practice). Note: while I did not have kids here, there were plenty of families with young kids & toddlers. I definitely want to try this place a 2nd time.

I was in there to order 5 sandwiches for a family lunch, but decided for our health not to and instead just bought a couple of bottles of water. Jake's lost around $50 on us that day for everything we would have bought for lunches (sandwiches, chips, dessert, etc.) Today I returned. Two customers walking around not wearing masks. I asked the nice cashier about it and she confided it's wisest for her not to comment on masks given some people who come would not take it well--and I knew precisely what she meant. Some pretty motley looking folks seem to frequent Jake's. A red-faced swaggery customer behind me--not wearing a mask--overheard me ask about masks in the store, and he starting taunting me for the type of mask I was wearing. I decided I didn't want to be anywhere near someone like that, or be in that store, so I left. Other than this clear problem with masks and sometimes quite seedy looking people working in the store (not the female cashiers who are nice and seem pretty normal) and sometimes pretty creepy looking folks hanging around the parking lot, Jake's has really good coffee, an interesting and wide variety of foods, and their homemade sandwiches tend to be delicious. You can also get Vermont made ice cream and home-baked dog biscuits, and other assorted things. When I got back to my parents' house I mentioned what happened. My brother said he'd never go to Jake's for that reason and my Dad said their friends don't go there anymore due to lack of masks (they're older).
