Iconic place in New Hampshire, descended from previous iterations going back three generations. Yes, the new building is still not like the old and venerable location. But this new one respects tradition, especially inside, where the old pub rafters and fixtures give it the old New England feel. And outside, a huge terrace with a massive covered area that could fit an entire wedding party, makes an appealing spot for get togethers. We came over for lunch and loved it. PC's has been around for over 50 years. They continue to provide a great spot for reliably good food. I love their GF pizza.

Food is meh. Service ranges from excellent to poor. This is not a fast food restaurant as the prices let you know that! Yet, some of the girls delivering food to patrons at the bar have no personality. They quickly drop off the pizza without a word and run! I had to call out to get napkins and silverware. Another patron at the bar had the same exact experience. Dirty dishes are not picked up promptly off the bar, even when a new patron sits down. I love the ambiance of this place, and have been going on and off for 30+ years. But it no longer is the same. Prices are very high and Service is unpredictable. The owners need to teach their workers hospitality skills. read more

I searched for a place that served mashed potatoes because my.aunt was craving them and this place popped up. We got there just as they opened and were greeted by a very friendly hostess and were soon sitting at a beautiful booth. This restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. They have a small gift shop in the restaurant and will add any items you choose to your bill. I highly recommend the mustard sauce! It's amazing! If you want to try it just order the pretzels. We ordered way too much food, but we had a great time. The pretzels are delicious and I don't know how they season the chicken wings but they didn't need any sauce at all! The small salad is quite large and the steak tips were tender and delicious! The coconut mojito I ordered was soooo good and my aunt said she could sip on their strawberry margaritas all day! This wasn't our first breakfast choice, but it was a nice surprise. The first choice had an hour wait and this was next door with no wait. The breakfast menu is fairly limited, but you can customize a bit. The sausage gravy was delicious. Potatoes were delicious and the omelette and biscuits with honey butter were all delicious. The place was great. We came as they were just about to open on Sunday and there was a line already. We got seated quickly into a booth. The atmosphere is nice but there were a lot of flies in the restaurant. I ordered French onion soup which I liked. I also ordered the lobster ravioli which was okay. Overall, good experience. Food and environment were 4-5 stars. Blonde hostess with a ponytail and our waitress with curly brown hair and glasses (working 6-8pm June 30th) were 1 star. Really bad. We were invisible to both. The waitress got our order wrong and didn't care when we pointed it out, and this was after she went MIA. We waited and waited to order more drinks, but we finished our food before she checked on us. By that time, we were ready to leave, so didn't order more drinks or desert. First time here. Stopped by after hiking for lunch. Nice and quiet, great service. Sat in a booth, which was very private. Started w the Seafood Chowder (5/5). Loved it. Nice, flavorful thin broth packed full with shrimp, scallops, clams, crab, haddock, and potatoes. Served w 2 slices of crostini. My friend had the French onion soup. She enjoyed it but preferred the broth to have a deeper flavor. Pre lunch we both had drinks. I had the hot apple cider whiskey smash. Hot cider with lemon and whiskey. So flavorful that I'm going home to make some more. My friend enjoyed the winter giblet w vodka, rosemary, pear and lime. We could of sat there all day drinking these spirits but we had to drive so one drink a piece (sadly). I had the chicken BLT so delish!! Seasoned, thinly cut grilled chicken w bacon, lettuce, onion mayo served on a bulky roll w side of thin fries. Very filling. My friend had the French dip sandwhich. She enjoyed it as well. Not good. The descriptions on the menu are much better than the food. Had the shepherds pie two of the signature sandwiches (Father and Mother) and a classic short rib burger. Shepherd's pie was standard version with ground beef, carrots and peas, and mashed potatoes with a sprinkle of cheese on top. Very acceptable. The sandwiches were good sized but basic quality and on on the dry side. The sliced bread was good. The burger has nothing to do with the short-rib mentioned in the menu. It was a standard ground beef patty, over cooked and dry on a dry ciabatta roll that may have been toasted earlier in the day. All in all not a good experience On the plus side, the French fries are good. Service was minimal but pleasant enough, not quite friendly. The booths are hard wood seating, they have removed the cushioned seats everywhere. Bummer on my bum. Passable food if your drinking beers but, I would not cross to street to eat there. BTW, the charcuterie board pictured, they do not serve that anymore. read more

We were frequent visitors before they did the remodel and the interior still looks cozy so we were relieved to see not too much had changed. We do miss some of the items on the old menu (hubs said they had *the best* wings- please bring it back!). We stopped in for lunch après-ski/riding @ Mount Sunapee and left the tavern very content. The ambiance is always nice with a very friendly and welcoming staff and warm atmosphere. Hubby got the meatball parm sandwich and french fries. When it first arrived, we were surprised by how small it was! But after he finished it, he said it was actually a good serving size. I stole some fries and they were gooood. Perfectly cooked with the right amount of crunch and most importantly, they were hot. I ordered the quiche of the day, which was salmon and spinach. Never had it, had to try it, and it was so amazing. I was worried it would be a little "fishy" but not at all. Nearly every bite, had a piece of salmon- and you can tell it was fresh salmon, not canned. The salad was fresh and just the right size to accompany my quiche. When PC was closed for a bit during the remodel, that was what I missed the most! The salads there are so fresh and the greens cleanly washed...perfect! Gave 4 instead of 5 stars because it was a larger check than we had remembered it being pre-remodel, but then again maybe pandemic related to pricing too. This is our second time back here and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious. The wait was quick and less than 10 minutes quoted. Whistle pig ten-year whiskey was delicious and smooth. This was my first time at PC's in this location, but I was a huge fan of the old PC's in Hanover. When I was young we used to go there and eat nachos while playing backgammon. Those days are gone, but I found myself nearby and had to at least try to eat here for the nostalgia, and also because the hamburgers smelled so good, and because they had outdoor seating. However, trying to walk in on a Saturday afternoon, they had an hour wait for outside, but no wait for inside. So we did our first inside meal anywhere since early March. And, if you haven't been to PC's before, their booths are super high, gorgeous dark wood. You could not be more protected and is a much nicer atmosphere than plexiglass. Plus, I could open the window behind me for even more ventilation. I will say, every table in the place was full, but they were well spaced. But I wouldn't have stayed if we couldn't have hidden in that corner booth. The menu is small, but good. It's pub food. They have gluten free buns and bread which I really appreciate. It doesn't say it on their menu, so please fix that! I asked because I knew they did. The staff was great, and all wearing masks. The food: I had calamari (probably not gluten free considering I fell asleep shortly after), my friend had the clam dip and chips, which was odd. It's a big bowl of cold and watery ranch dip with some hidden clams. And clearly the chips were homemade, but maybe had been sitting a little long. We had the lobster roll, nice and gorgeous (better be for $25) and a burger, which was fine. Not exciting, but all decent. Oh, and there's a really fun gift shop in the parking area that you should poke around in. If you haven't had the PC's honey mustard, you need this in your fridge. First time back since they reopened . Went in with four friends and had to wait until 5pm because they said they hadn't opened yet. Every place I looked and someone even called and said yes they would be open all day. I ordered the seafood grits and they were really good. Another order was the pork loin . This had little taste to it and seemed over cooked. Another order was the Peter's fantasy. This was decent but lacked bacon on it. Some of us got the French onion and the cheese soup which were both very good . The vibe in the whole place was very different than I remember. Terrible bar service. Party of four chose from the empty tables (bar seats were full). Bar server strolls over, drops off menus without a single word. He returns to take drink order and turns away before we could order food. He goes back to chatting and serving what could only be "locals" at the bar (we were from neighboring towns). Bar server changes, our glasses are empty. One of our party approaches the bar to request service and is reprimanded by a customer! Bar server then takes our order for 4 beers, proceeds to serve only 3. Returns to chatting with the locals. For a bar tab in excess of $180, we felt like a major inconvenience. Go to the Goose, it has local flavor but welcomes all. Will not return here. As another reviewer mentioned, nachos are still served on and stuck to parchment paper. read more

(Despite a few empty tables) Drinks were yummy ans my parents got seafood dishes that were phenomenal. My sister and I got the petite filets- veggies and mash were good but our "medium" filets were medium rare- erring on the rarer end. Well it's 90 degrees outside and its the first restaurant I have eaten at since pre covid. I've heard a lot of PC since my fiancé's family has been coming to Sunapee for decades so I wanted to try it out For some reason I went with a cup of sea food chowder on a hot day in the sun. Thank god I did bc it was the best soup I've ever had maybe ever. The broth is not so much New England style as it's much closer to a broth than a creamy consistency. The amount of fresh sea food rivals anywhere I have seen. I regret not getting a bowl. It will leave you hankering for more. I suggest asking for extra bread too. It's perfect dipping bread I went with the pulled pork tacos as my main and the tortillas are certainly home made. A soft but somehow crispy corn tortilla made the dish. The chipotle aioli added the perfect amount of heat Logan had a summer salad with some of the best grilled chicken. Perfectly crispy yet tender and juicy. I have been enjoying a cold beer out of a PC pint glass for years and am so happy I got to finally eat here. I'd gladly come back and try to skip a meal to try more of the menu. We each had a different meal and everything was delicious, as good as before, if not better, and served promptly. Our server was Terez, who was friendly and efficient. We enjoyed some flavorful libations first, which were unique and fun. I should add that we were there a few weeks earlier and had a similar experience. We came here for a bday dinner for my husband and sat by the bar! I got the filet wrapped in bacon which had a delicious gravy sauce everyone loved. My husband got the seafood risotto and said it was 10/10. Cheesy delicious rice dish. Our drinks were also super fun as well! I got the mai tai and that will get you buzzed if you drink it! My husband and I used to come here. He's now passed but I decided to come back and try it out in his memory. I tried to find the spot where we used to always sit, but they must have changed the decor. Nothing looks the same. Everything's been rearranged. I had to take a moment after my meal so I decided use the washroom but I had to wait for quite awhile to use it. I think an employee had been using it. When I entered the restroom I found feces on the toilet bowl and felt disgusted. I can't believe what has happened to Henry and I's old restaurant. It's not the same. I'm afraid I won't be coming back. PS I had to wait for my food for about 45 minutes in the middle of the day. I was sat relatively close to the kitchen and heard quite a bit of yelling and cursing from the cooks. All I ordered was half a sandwich and soup. 45 minutes. The only saving grace was the delightful young girl who waited on me and made numerous apologies for the restaurant. I tried to give her a big tip but she informed me that she wouldn't receive it in whole and that it was pooled between her other staffers and the restaurant owners. I don't know what kind of place operates like this but it sounds very socialist to me and quite frankly, I don't like the direction my beloved PCs has taken. read more
