I really wanted to like this place because we have eaten here previously and our experience was good. Our recent visit left us so disappointed that we won't return. My friend and I each ordered an appetizer and sandwiches. There was no one else in the dining room for a weekend lunch service, which should have been a clue. My friend's appetizer of kettle chips arrived after a long wait and they were overcooked/burnt in a few places. $11.95 for 36 burnt kettle (aka potato) chips with 2 dipping sauces. My appetizer of carne asada fries was a letdown. Both the fries and meat were overcooked and chewy. I've had carne asada fries before and these were not good. Maybe this is how they cook them? Friend had a turkey BLT panini, $12ish and the turkey meat was equivalent to a thin slice of meat you get in the Oscar Meyer pack. My chicken sandwich was the best thing we ordered, but the fries were cold and overcooked. I only ended up eating a few bites of the sandwich. The employees never stopped by to check in with us or anything. Total with 2 cans of soda plus tip was over $60. We won't be back. You can get better food and service for less at Chili's, Applebees or Wings and Rings. Hopefully this business can do better for future customers. read more

I came here for lunch on my one weekly day off during a three week detail in September 2022. I was warmly greeted at the counter and placed my order there. For starters, I had their onion rings. Look at the pics on here. These were incredibly tasty and beautifully textured. They had a unique crunch and tons of flavor. The batter intrigued me. My Amistad Burger was also just as incredible. Every bite was full of both beef and chorizo flavor, and the amount of toppings was just right. The side salad was a nice touch to balance the depth of the burger. My coworker and I came here after a meeting. This place was clean and the staff was super nice. The fried avocado and onion rings were ok. The avocado had a little spice to them. I ordered a BBQ chicken sandwich (not pictured) and it was ok. It normally comes with bacon but I asked for no bacon. My coworker had the carne asada tacos and she asked for no cilantro so they put the pico de gallo on the side. This is a good option in Del Rio. Next time I'll try something else from here. One thing I did want to add is that you order and pay at the register first and then go and sit at your own seat. Food comes out pretty quick. read more

Looking for a decent modern restaurant to eat since I'm new here and this place was recommended by one of the waitress at another awesome restaurant. It is relatively easy to find, corner of Avenue B & W 1st St a little off N Main. There are a few parking spots right outside the store front but parking on the street also available across the road so parking isn't bad. Apparently they've been open for only 4 months so relatively new! The owner couples were very friendly and they also honor military discounts, which is always a plus for us. Ordered their 830 Kitchen Burger, avocado fries & Iced Tea. The meat patty is very well cooked and the vegetables were fresh. The fries that came w the burger also very well seasoned. The avocado fries.. mmM never had anything like it before. The iced tea was also pretty good (keep in mind I'm a tea snob), refreshing and well brewed. Will definitely come back and try other dishes. I have to say they do have the best fried pickles around. They have pretty small drinks and you tend to have to go ask for refills. The fish tacos are good according to my wife. I usually have a burger which tend to be ok at best. I mean they try and dress up the burgers but they used frozen patties. This place could be so much better but i can not get past those frozen burger patties. They also use some seasoning on the fries that is like tajin, which I guess you either love it or hate it. I for one am not a fan of it but to each their own. I will say it's a very nice spot and they are always very friendly and helpful, plus my wife likes the fish tacos so we go every so often. We started with the appetizer sampler plate - little chunks of boneless buffalo chicken bits and onion rings were nothing out of the ordinary, but the spiral homemade kettle chip and the fried avocados were really good.
