I have not stepped foot here in quite some time but I'm glad I did today. It's very close to my residence so I'll try to be here more often. I've only been to the bar area. They have good drink specials for happy hour and on Saturday from 3-5. They also have good bar options for food. Some of my favorite appetizers are the steak n cheese egg rolls and chipotle buffalo wings. The wings are awesome, large and good flavor with a nice homemade buttermilk herb sauce for dipping. Also good cocktails, they have tall mojitos and margaritas which are tasty. I need to come back here again since it's close to where I live. Close enough where I can walk there.... This is my go-to to bring out-of-towners. By far the best wait staff out of any other restaurant in the area. They are very quick once you get a table. Located in the Brambleton town center, blue ridge grill is a sprawling restaurant and bar that always offers some outdoor patio seating for the nice weather. Was here for sunday brunch while the afternoon nfl games were on and the first oddity I noticed is that almost none of the seats had a good view of the tvs unless you sat at the bar. I was moderately interested in following the game that was on but was unable to do so because of the restricted view. Anyway was here for a meal and not football. The menu seems to cater largely to people with meat based diets, the only brunch offerings I saw on there for non meat eaters were the pancakes and the French toast. Even all the non brunch entrees were almost exclusively meat and/or fish based except for a few salads. We had a few vegetarians in out group, luckily they had a few vegetarian appetizers and upon inquiring we were told they also have beyond burgers (although these were not listed on the menu). We ended up ordered a few appetizers - bruschetta, spinach and artichoke dip, guac and chips and a couple of the beyond burgers and a chicken sandwich for entrees. The food was largely disappointing. The guac was extremely salty and was served with bland store bought chips as was the spinach dip, although the dip itself was rather good, probably the best part of the meal. Bruschetta was 4 slices of toasted bread arranged around some tomato salsa and a dollop of cream cheese - strange presentation in my opinion. The chicken sandwich was bland and uninspiring. The beyond burgers were decent considering a lack of alternatives for the vegetarians. The staff seemed to be mostly high school kids and service was attentive. This used to be my favorite bar to come to during the week. Not anymore. I went tonight to find the bar empty.. not single person sitting there. I asked the bartender if the bar menu was available and he told me the got rid of it and only have a limited bar menu until happy hour ends at 6pm. I work until 6pm every day. It was OK. There was 4 of us, and I kind of expect more for 250 bucks than just ok. Kind of sterile for me. I had an IPA pre meal, and a dirty martini (with blue cheese olives), with the meal. Very nice We ordered the calamari, which comes on a bed of 2 different sauces, with a corn "relish" on top. Someone who had ordered it before asked for the sauces to be on the side, because it tends to make the calamari soggy, but it came with it under. Second try was successful. nice, but nothing special. The spinach dip was good, but again nothing special. 2 of our party ordered the filet with a side crab cake, and they seemed pretty happy with it, being from Maryland, that is saying the crab was done well. I don't even bother ordering a crabcake outside of baltimore, but I taketed it, and it was yummy. I ordered one of the specials, the "flaky" halibut on a bed of ravioli. It looked nice, and the ravioli and sauce were pretty good, but it was so overcooked that it could barely be cut with a knife. Ther server eventually came back and I asked him to replace it. He did so, cheerfully, and the new one came back with the manager, who was not happy, or very nice... It was edible, but for me, still overcooked. The food was possibly the worst food I have ever, EVER, EVERRRRRR had in my whole life. And I have tried durian. I really don't know how you can mess up home fries, it's potatoes.. fried.. come on, but that ish was WAY over cooked. I couldn't even eat 2. Terrible. The "frittata" I ordered... I mean damn. It had kraft cheese smothered on top. It was terrible. After I carved the cheese off, the eggs were overcooked (not fluffy at all), sausage was crap, I just couldn't eat it. There was some "smoked pepper salsa" that came with it... it just tasted like chemicals. My boyfriend ordered a burger... we couldn't even finish the fries. Ordered the special which consisted of pork tenderloin over a bed of saffron rice and a pineapple salsa (sounds good right?!). Also ordered the steak which was so bad that my partner didn't even eat it! The steak looked as if it was microwaved. Another waiter even commented on how much steak was left over as our waiter was clearing out our table and asked if we were sure we didn't want a box because he was so surprised about how a person would leave an entire steak to go to the trash. This spot is right next to the movie theater so to all my active "Date Night" folks this would an ideal location. This is a fairly new shopping center in Ashburn, VA which is still being developed but none the less I am sure it will become popular over time. The homie and I had movie tickets to see "Spider-Man", IMAX style so of course I was instructed to go and search Yelp for some popping eats. This place came up and we did not hesitate. Simple decor and simple menu, service was phenomenal, and it was a overall great dinning experience. The herb garlic ranch is CRACK, the chicken tender platter will take you back to when Houston's was the spot, and the carrot cake desert, LISTEN THE BOMB. The homie tried their seafood "Shell Bowl" special and that was the highlight of his dining experience. And he enjoyed their homemade Strawberry Shortcake. After moving to Loudoun and feeling like everything was "a drive", I started exploring new restaurants and Blue Ridge Grill was one of them. It is conveniently located next door to the movie theater in the Brambleton Shopping Center. We have never had an issue getting seated right away so we may just dine at the right times. Came here on a Sunday at 1: 30. It wasn't busy. They had a brunch menu. We were served these churro fry type things that were delicious. I ordered the crab cakes benedict. It came with home fries, asparagus, and biscuits. The biscuits were amazing. There were two crab cakes and each sat on a biscuit with an egg on top. The crab cakes could have been a bit bigger in my opinion, but they were tasty. It was a great meal and I would order it again. Service was good. We had the chicken tenders which were soggy and fell apart by the time we finished dinner, the burger was good but how can screw up that? The chicken sandwich was bland and devoid of flavor!!!! And the Brüssel sprouts were just "no." The menu seemed like they were trying to do too many different things. So we sat outside but I wanted a drink inside at the bar as it was happy hour. I went to the bathroom and stopped for a quick beer while kids were doing there thing at our table. Bartender says real smart ass like "you have a table outside don't ya?" Unsure of why he says that, I said "yes." He says I can't get a drink at the bar for happy hour because I'm sitting outside. I said "excuse me?" And the he wouldn't acknowledge me. Unremarkable and typical suburban eatery using average quality ingredients. Many of the dishes are prepared using the microwave. I recently had the barbecue chicken: it was terrible: a chewy and overcooked husk of chicken breast smothered in a ghastly sauce and buried under a slice of processed cheese. Chicken tenders are alright but the fact they can fry a chicken tender shouldn't be the best thing to say about a restaurant! Pasta dishes are served with the pasta beyond well cooked and many minutes past being al dente. Their fries are typical fast-food, Costco quality rubbish that the kids will enjoy. If you enjoy over-flavored and average quality food then this place will suit you fine. Portions are large so at least you get enough to take home for the dog. Service is good - waiting staff should get a decent tip - don't blame them for the food quality! read more

I came here for a light dinner with co-workers earlier in the year and had mainly the basics of what Blue Ridge had to offer: shrimp and chicken tender appetizers for the eight of us to start with, followed by ribs for several of us. While I didn't give into the peer pressure in trying the ribs, I stuck with a regular grilled chicken sandwich and draft beers. I was doing most of the talking this evening, so I decided to keep my meal light. The meal itself was good, as well as the server. Considering that our table was one of four or five tables that were being served at the time, I expected nothing less than excellent service. Parking at this location can be tricky. There is garaged parking, as well as some spaces in front of the restaurant. However, given the restaurant's popularity (as well as the stores around it), its recommended to park within the garage and just walk over, especially if within a large group as we were. The decor of Blue Ridge is what you would expect for an Ashburn venue: new and slightly upscale, and not old and crusty at all. Quite comfortable in watching a game here, as well as conducting business luncheons or dinner. Try it out sometime. read more

Blue Ridge Grill a good alternative place to meet up with friends, instead of frequenting the typical American neighborhood chain restaurants. I do agree that Blue Ridge Grill has a similar feel in service and looks to the Great American Restaurants found in the NoVa area. While we had a few mix-ups with service with the lack of a bread basket and the wrong type of cheese on a salad, the service overall wasn't too shabby. The greens on the salad were very fresh, but the mangoes were a touch on the unripened side. The portion size is very generous here. I was really surprised at the size of my salad, the greens with added shrimp. We also had the fried calamari appetizer. The breading did come apart fairly easily from the calamari, more than I would have liked. The hot peppers came fried in the same fashion as the calamari which is a bit different and helped mellow out the spiciness a tad. The appetizer also came with two types of sauce and a corn salsa kinda thing. I also tried the banana pudding. They tried to put their own spin on it, but it wasn't very successful imo. It wasn't very special nor memorable, so I would tell you to skip the banana pudding for dessert. They have a pretty decent outdoor seating here when the weather is nice. read more

It mirrors the chains of a Great American Restaurant such as Sweetwater Tavern, Coastal Flats, Carlyle, Artie's, etc. The brunch items we tried were the following: - The Southwestern Frittata - Crab Cake Benedict The Southwestern Frittata is not really a frittata, but an "open-faced" omelet w/ ham, andouille sausage, mushrooms, onions & melted cheddar cheese topped w/ salsa, and served w/ home fries, bacon, & fresh fruit. It's quite a big meal, and worth the price for what you're getting. The Crab Cakes Benedict were OK. You could really taste the vinegar they used form poaching the eggs, but they came out nice and runny. The crab cakes were all crab, but the texture was mushy and topped with way too much hollandaise sauce to the point where it masked the overall taste of the crab cakes which should really be the main highlight in any crab cakes benedict dish. The english muffin was super crispy and toasted which I liked because it held up to the mushy crab cakes and overly loaded sauce, but the extremity of the "overly sauced and mushy" and the "overly toasted and crispy" textures somehow canceled or balanced each other out. It was served with baby "teeny tiny" asparagus which were wilted and no longer tasted crisp, but I enjoyed the extra crunch the home fries had to offer. They must boil the potatoes and flash-fry them or something, but it was a nice touch. Overall, the food tasted mediocre, but nothing impressive. And like I mentioned earlier, if you do compare BRG with Great American Restaurant chains, then the execution of their dishes aren't quite at the same level or quality, but that's A-OK. I did notice similarly named dishes such as "tequila lime pasta" which I only caught because I had eaten at Coastal Flats a couple days before. I don't know whether I should judge that as a knock-off or brush that off as similar offerings in other American restaurants. Whatever the case, the food here is average and a decent option when in the Brambleton/Ashburn area. Brunch items are served on Saturday and Sunday between 11am-3pm with a limited lunch menu during this period. They don't take reservations, but do allow call-aheads. Tip(s): - Make sure to ask for their "French Toast Sticks" offered at each table during brunch. They are quite a treat. - They have a long bar area with TVs that would be great for game-days. read more

I would describe this place as your typical Fridays or Ruby Tuesday without all that crap all over the walls. The menu has a huge selection of yummy comfort style foods. The portions are also huge here and you're likely to gain 5lbs. before leaving. I have to give this place props for letting me and my friends in during our lunch break from a paint balling adventure down the road. We were probably the smelliest customers in the restaurant but the staff there was still super friendly and accommodating.
