Great vibe next to the water. We sat outside and weather was great. Service was quick. Food was good. I had the bacon cheese burger and had great flavor. The fries could have been better. Shoestring and flimsy and not enough salt. Everyone else liked what they ordered as well.

It's been a while since I last ate here. The service was decent and food was only alright: We ordered: Ozzie rolls (always yummy) Salmon salad 7/10 - only alright. The salad was soggy and didn't taste fresh. I also don't really like the lettuce they use or maybe it just felt too basic. The salad was just a handful of a grocery stores spring mix. I prefer Fords salmon salad over this spots. I also felt like the salmon had a strong fishy scent which properly cooked and handled seafood should never have. Tex Mex Egg roll - 8/10 I enjoyed it. It's a little more above casual in regard to ambiance. Good for large groups, business meetings, drinks, or just hanging out.

Been to this establishment at many different points in my life. Each time was a great experience. Servers always took care of us, and the food was always amazing. The inside is spacious but it does get busy as well, this is a fantastic place. Who wouldn't want to come here? Amazing establishment.

Pretty cool place with a great beer menu - the only problem is they only have a fraction of the beer menu on tap, and most of those are lagers and IPAs. The service is friendly and accommodating. The walnut and goat cheese mixed green salad was delicious and my wife enjoyed the crab cake sandwich - lots of crab! The place is open and airy with a pub feel.

Our waitress has only been here 5 days and she did a wonderful job. Very attentive, willing to answer any questions..positive attitude. We had the crab sandwich and the warm goat cheese salad. Both were super. Tons of crab...the bread basket is a must

It's been many years since I've been to this location of Sweetwater, so when in the area with a co-worker we came in for lunch. Getting there soon after they opened for the day, they were empty, but within 30 mins, they were packed. Service was decent, not very personable, but very good and on-point. I've been to nearly all the GAR restaurants over the years... I've been eating at Mike's since '91, so I've had many meals at their places, but have never tried their crab cakes. I decided this trip to try their crab cake sandwich. I have to say it was a very sad looking sandwich! No lettuce nor tomato on it. There was the smallest dot of remoulade on it and the crab cake itself had a strong lemon flavor, not much of a crab flavor and constantly fell out of the bun when I took each bite. There was a slightly higher amount of breading/filler than a true MD crab cake should have and it was just lackluster. GAR does so many things so very well and being the first customers of the day, I wanted to order their fillet tips, as they frequently run out, but I changed it up to get this and totally regretted my decision. My coworker's tuna salad looked absolutely amazing though and he raved about it! Overall, I'd most definitely return, they might have hiccups at times, but are still the best restaurant chain in the area. But I am disappointed with this visit.

First of all I need to say that I'm not a huge fan of American cuisine. The tavern is casual place( quite big so can get noisy) with extremely polite and nice personnel. On w/e you better make a reservation, as place is getting full pretty quickly. Now about food. It was ok. Nothing "wow" as for my opinion, but my husband and father in law Really enjoyed the signature ribs. I'm sorry to give 3 stars for now, maybe I have to go back and try some more dishes in order not to " misjudge " the place.

Among the Great American Restaurants, ST strikes me as the most casual, slightly more affordable, yet delivers the basic premise of good American comfort food. If you choose this location, you get to sit (although not as closeby) by the water outdoors. The bar area is covered and the high tops make a great choice for that. We have gone for classics like the burger and chicken tenders. Great coleslaw. Good selection of draft beers (although they seemed to be out of many when we were there.) Overall, friendly and timely service.

Sweetwater has been a staple in my life since I was a kid and it never disappoints! I've grown up dining here, starting with the kid's menu and now enjoying their regular menu with my family. Our go-to appetizer is the Blue Crab & Shrimp Fritters, they're truly a must try. Crispy on the outside and bursting with flavor, they are paired perfectly with the grilled corn salsa and lobster ginger sauce. We also can't visit without indulging in the Ozzie rolls. They're incredibly soft, buttery, and just melt in your mouth. For my main course, I had the Wood Grilled Filet Mignon and it was cooked to absolute perfection. The roasted cremini mushrooms added a wonderfully earthy depth of flavor and the mashed potatoes were rich and comforting. The field greens salad, with its light vinaigrette and sweet pops of dried cranberries, was fresh and delicious and my family loved it too. Sweetwater Tavern continues to be a place of amazing food and cherished memories for me and my family. Highly recommend!

Got the shrimp and crab fritters appetizer. Always good! Did the Southwest Steak salad. Delicious! Steak was very tender. Corn is cut fresh off the cob and dressing was great. No military discount but gave me a dessert. Great service!

I stopped in during happy hour while waiting for friends and sat at the outside bar. It was a rainy day but the staff brought the sunshine! The drinks are Tens across the board!!!! The appetizers I had amazing! It's a hip after work spot or just visiting and need a vibe!

The short ribs fell apart without a knife bc they were sooo tender and the desserts were expertly crafted. I might go back just for dessert yum!! The Brie appetizer was enjoyable though a little small if splitting. The shrimp cocktail were very traditional. I enjoyed them. My husband loved the homemade baguette although I wonder if it's because the butter was so good; the bread itself was a little hard for me and of course room temp as is typical in France. Kids enjoyed the kids options (though preferred our dishes). Pasta in cream sauce and steak frites were their choices. It was really loud inside particularly when tables in the middle of the room were occupied. Outdoor patio might be pleasant for easier conversation. Also bring a sweater- if you end up under an ac vent, it can be cold.

The first thing that informed me that this was going to be a good first experience was being greeted at the door, simply to welcome me and inform that I would be seated soon. It's alarming just how few places provide that kind of genuine courtesy. The Monday duck confit special was excellent, and fork tender. While the wine list is not expensive, it is focused on what is good with their food. My table service from Eric also far exceeded what most restaurants provide these days. While the good and service were outstanding, there was no pretense in the decor or ambiance. Entering the restaurant felt like stepping into another place, and want you coming back for more. And yes. I will be coming back for more. Much more!

For meals, we got the bucatini and this one pasta with a pumpkin cream sauce. They were both OK, I didn't love the Brussel sprouts in my dish, just didn't go well. We also ordered the side of chicken parm for protein, which was big and good. For dessert the cappuccino was good but was sweet for some reason (I didn't ask for any sweetener). The tiramisu was pretty good, I imagine homemade, especially with it being more yellow which is more traditional.

Nothing exceptional but good quality, good food And a fair amount of steak in mine for $16. I wish I could say the same about the service or lack there of provided by the two young female servers. For starters, they have zero communication skills. They drop things at the table and just stand there without a word. I did not receive the Vietnamese coffee that I ordered until I asked for it nor was I asked whether or not I wanted it with whipped cream - there's was no description on the menu so I wasn't aware it came with whipped cream. When we placed our order we asked for extra cilantro and received no cilantro at all. Once the runner delivered our food no one came over to ask how everything had turned out, if we needed anything else etc. The lack of communication, lack of attention to detail and quite frankly complete lack of personality turned a pleasant afternoon meal into a disappointment. It's a shame because I saw several other things on the menu that I'd like to try but I'm not interested in being in that unpleasant atmosphere again

Wife, 2 y/o, and I never been to a Red Lobster so didnt really have much to go off of. The interior was a "dated", after seeing the Red Lopster interior change on TV, i was hoping to see the new interior, so that was a bummer. Ms. C was our waitress. We had the corner area, probably about 7 tables? It was around 1145 so not many guests were there. Our child has allergy concerns so before we ordered, Ms. C brought the allergy booklet out and confirmed all our orders the Shrimp, lobster, salmon, potato and broccoli. Jambalaya shrimp and sausage. She recommended not to give our kid the biscuits (allergy concerns) so instead brought out fruit for him. Not requested but such a generous offer and showed her above and beyond care for our kid. Our big concern was the food being salty ( as most Cajun seafood places are). Food wasn't salty, perfectly seasoned, juicy lobster and shrimp. Salmon wasn't overcooked, Orzo rice was amazing. Ms. C was attentive, genuinely caring, and professional. We are a Red Robin or Texas roadhouse fan. But this Visit put Red Lobster on our top list. Family of 3, Lobster shrimp, salmon, Jambalaya, biscuits, fruit, great service for under $70 for a sit down restaurant? in this economy. Rare. We will be going there again. Thank you Ms. C for a great experience.

I made the mistake of reviewing the one in Fairfax when our daughter had given us coupons to try some new non-seafood items that Red Lobster was introducing at the time. I made another mistake by mentioning she worked for Red Lobster -- never mind, it wasn't at this particular location. Yelp removed my review. Well...she hasn't worked for "The Lobster" in years now. So I can now update :D Red Lobster came very close to going out of business. They closed several of their restaurants nationwide. The one in Sterling was never on any lists for closures. We would go from time to time. Recently, Red Lobster has started adding new entrees and side dishes. When I saw that they were now offering seafood boils, I wanted to try one. Neither of us had ever had a seafood boil, but we grew up knowing about them We were here on a Saturday for an early dinner and were surprised to see how many other customers were there. As the evening progressed, even more came in to eat. Good to see that! Our server was friendly, polite, and efficient. We each ordered a seafood boil. I got the Mariner's boil, which has crab legs, lobster tail, a dozen shrimp, corn on the cob, and potatoes. My husband got the Sailor's boil, which has 2 dozen shrimp, sausage, corn on the cob, and potatoes. There are 3 dressings available. We both chose the original one, which was garlic butter. It took a while for our food to come out but, no problem. We were served cheddar bay biscuits that were fresh out of the oven so we didn't feel like we were starving. When our boils came, our server shook the bag to make sure the sauce was evenly spread around. The bags came in what looked like a pie plate. I had thought ahead and brought along some disposable kitchen food prep gloves for each of us. Thus, we were able to dig right into our food. As I'm not a fan of shrimp, I gave my shrimp to my husband. My boil still had a generous amount of crab legs, plus a lobster tail. The crab legs and lobster tail were properly cooked, as was the corn on the cob. We both agreed that the potatoes could have been cooked a bit longer, but they were still edible. The corn on the cob was sweet and flavorful. My husband said he liked the sausage that was in his boil. Overall, we both enjoyed our meals and were glad we gave them a try. Hopefully, they will stay on "Red Lobster's" menu. As for ambiance, it's still the same old seafood restaurant vibe. And, yes, we will continue to go from time to time.

I read my last review of this place over 2 years ago and chuckled. Even back then (just coming out of covid) I was complaining about these same things - price increase and shrinkflation. And to think I thought $22 for 2 teriyaki chicken meals was too much! This weekend I paid $19 for ONE, count 'em ONE, chicken teriyaki meal, granted with double meat. What in the world was I complaining about 2+ years ago, amiright?! lol Then why keep coming here, you ask? Well, sometimes you have to cave in when the teriyaki craving hits you. We come out to the mall eatery when we're in the area running errands. The eatery has surprisingly rebounded and appears to be reconstituting its offerings although the mall itself, post-covid, remains a sad and sorry shell of its former self. #sadface Back to Sarku...No complaints at all about the taste, freshness and quality of the teriyaki chicken. A container full of sizzling, piping hot and fresh grilled meat right from watching it get expertly grilled right before your own eyes - CAN'T GET MORE FRESH THAN THAT. The "chef" working the grill honestly is a pro. We remember him when he first started wayyyyy back in the day (well before covid) - "apprenticing" under the prev "chef". This guy is good - he apprenticed well lol. He's fast, efficient and knows how to crank out multiple orders at once. Frankly, he single-handedly keeps this place running like a top. (Give this guy a raise....or part ownership of the business because he's the one keeping this place alive and kicking.) So, NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL WITH SARKU'S FOOD QUALITY. Our go-to order now is to order 1 ENTREE WITH DOUBLE MEAT. It's definitely a better deal and IT'S ENOUGH FOR 2 PEOPLE TO SHARE - especially if you're not ravenous. Check out my pic and vid of our double meat order. You'll see what I mean. ANOTHER TIP: no matter that we no longer frequent this place much anymore (due to how expensive it's become for "fast food"), we still keep a FREQUENT DINER CARD on hand and use it when we go/order - it's worth getting a free entree for every 6 you order - so if you're not doing that (especially if you do go here regularly or order multiple entrees in a single visit), get a card from the cashier and start getting your entrees stamped and earning a free meal. The cards never expire and are not location specific so even better if you frequent different Sarku locations. As I said, we don't go out of our way to go to this Sarku or any other location because of how pricey it is. Sarku has continued to steadily jack up their prices AND have made their containers smaller and smaller and smaller (so they can make you feel like they've generously stuffed your box full of food - clever! ...not). Their other menu items might be better value but I seriously doubt it and I don't think I would trust sushi made at a fast food carryout joint anyway. So, for all these reasons, we only go when we're in the area of the mall AND have a craving for teriyaki chicken.
