Very pretty - and definitely out of the way - location, with easy drinking wines. They had a large selection, although only a few were my style (I'm a bold red drinker). I can't remember how many acres of vines they have or how many cases/year they have, although for the time being almost everything is brought in from neighboring vineyards. Sadly, their vines were badly damaged in a previous winter so they had to extensively replant. Despite its remoteness, it was fairly busy. Maybe that shouldn't surprise me; most were locals, who were there to play Frisbee, listen to the music, enjoy the view, and drink some wines on a lazy day. I did enjoy the Traminette, which was citrusy, and the off-dry Riesling.

We went and had a lovely time. The owner was friendly and informative. The seating area is whimsical and airy with an amazing view of the mountain range . The blue bear white was by far my favorite wine followed closely by the resiling. My husband who is not a huge wine drinker actually said it was amazing.

Yes, this is the tasting room....rustic is the key word.

Another rustic favorite. The tasting room is one of the more unusual ones--inside a barn that resembles an antique store. On a nice day, bring a blanket or sit on the picnic tables on the sloping land--views of the Blue Ridge and Alleghenies on all sides. One of the few wineries in VA that makes Gewürztraminer. This winery, Virginia Mountain and Fincastle wineries make for a good day-long excursion in the mountains north of Roanoke (off I-81). But bring a good map, or a reliable GPS. These spots are a little hard to find.

The view from the tasting deck.

This was a lovely winery with beautiful views! The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about their wines. We enjoyed a tasting (alone was $5/2 people) and two glasses of wine ($5/each with the glass). The wines were pretty good, leaning toward the sweet side. Prices were compatible to your small wineries. ($12-18/bottle). Dog & kid friendly a plus!! But plenty of open space to enjoy a private relaxing glass of wine.

I am very fortunate to have this beautiful vineyard right here in my own backyard I highly recommend it to everyone.

Good wine with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Did a wine tasting and sat and learned about wine making for a good half hour after the tasting was done. Also a beautiful place to sit and look at nature. Would love to come back again if I get the chance.

Went to the vineyard for the tasting and had the most awesome time! Eric took great care of us, thought us about the different wines, how to get the best out of them. Great wine, great company and amazing scenery, what more an you ask for?!

Beautiful view!

During my wine tasting at Rockbridge Vineyard, I sought out the driest wines they offered, but even the dry wines were too sweet for my palate. If you like sweet wine, you will love this wine! Nevertheless, I did take home a bottle of Jeremiah's, which is their wine that's made with concord grapes. It's definitely a sweet wine. I shared it with some people who love the sweets, so I didn't drink as much. Along with wine tasting, they offer wine slushies and little appetizers to purchase, like locally made cheeses, salami, crackers, chips and popcorn. This is not a restaurant, so you won't find a meal. But you can also bring your own food, if you like. During the summer months, they have food trucks on select days.

Really nice winery and brew house. Nice selection of beers, I had a pilz and a Mexican Lager that…read morewere both amazing. In addition they had a Voitner that I quite enjoyed. The food is limited to cheese and chartreuse, but they frequently have food trucks, especially at the week end. Service was nice, but the real standout is the views of the vines. Lots of outside seating, both in the sun and undercover. The beer room is quite large, and the wine tasting room is more than adequate if the weather is unfavorable. They are dog friendly!

Beliveau Estate Winery was a wonderful experience for a Saturday afternoon (post hike). Upon…read morearriving the employees were all kind, accommodating and compliant with all Covid standards. They made me and my group feel comfortable, safe and welcomed. The property itself is quaint and sweet. We strolled through their small lavender field, visited the gift shop and a few weekend vendors selling jewelry, soaps and other goods. Everyone was warm and friendly. The bar had a wide array of wines and organized the bottles (so reasonably priced or just $7 per glass) by red, white and dry to semi-sweet or sweet. Four of us split two bottles of the semi-sweet white wine. It was given to us in a bowl of ice with plastic cups. Everyone wore masks and they sold me one for $2 (masks required for everyone interacting at the bar or inside the gift shop establishment). The white win was just sweet enough and so refreshing on the warm late June afternoon. However, it was their specialty pizza that truly made the experience extra-ordinary. Their lavender specialty pizza was phenomenal. I was blown away by the lavender-infused pizza sauce. I've never had such a unique pizza and would return just for a slice of the artisanal masterpiece. It comes topped with greens, feta, grapes, bacon (which I omitted) and a lemon balsamic. The bread itself was light and the crust was seasoned and fresh tasting. I can't say enough about this pizza. Do me a favor and try it for yourself. All in all, this was the perfect treat (and reward) for an 8-mile round trip hike. Highly recommend!
