My mom's favorites used to be the scones, but the past few times she had them she said they were very dry. The last time I was there, I got her a blueberry muffin which she said was delicious. So, on this trip, I got the coffee cake) which we had had before and loved) as well as another blueberry muffin for my mom. Sadly everything was horribly dry. I don't know if perhaps they were left over from the day before or just not cooked right but they certainly weren't good and after a couple of bites, ended up in the trash. Parking was a little tricky, with limited spaces available right in front, but it wasn't a major issue. When I walked in, I was greeted right away by two friendly baristas. I asked for a recommendation and ended up ordering one of their favorites--the Honey Badger. It was delicious and definitely a solid choice. What stood out most to me wasn't even the coffee--it was the atmosphere. The shop felt warm, welcoming, and full of community. There were families and friends catching up, and there was even a dedicated area where kids could play while everyone relaxed. The coffee shop sits above the restaurant below, giving it a cozy, tucked-away feel. After getting my drink, I settled into one of the couches and ended up playing my Nintendo Switch for a few hours. It was one of those rare coffee shops where you feel comfortable lingering without feeling rushed. Overall, if I find myself back in Bandera, I would absolutely stop by again for a coffee and maybe try one of their snacks next time. The questions were regarding the products in the shop, his experience as a Kerr County resident, and what he has witnessed in terms of the before and after the floods. He was very kind, patient, empathetic, and professional yet people friendly. He knew the products very well which is not always the case in various establishments. The way he provided top notch customer made me want to return the next day and I did. I will be back the next time I am in town. Atmosphere: The store was clean, beautifully decorated and quite welcoming. The desserts were very good, but I can't justify a business upcharging me for another bakery's goods, when I could've gone to Baklovah and supported the bakers who actually made them.
