Finally someone sitting at a table told us what to do. After about 15 minutes, one of the people working there came over to us and began giving us directions on how to work with the clay and a few utensils they had to use on the clay. He kept saying, just do whatever you want to do with the clay, and we didn't know what our options were "to do with the clay". When I asked for examples of what we could do, they really had no examples, and he pointed to work that was on the shelves that other people had done. It was very frustrating. We felt like little kids given some play doh. So we were supposed to get a call when our projects were done, no phone call. I finally called and our projects had been done a couple weeks prior. When I went to pick them up, they were on a shelf outside the studio, so I had no interaction with anybody when I went to pick our projects up. I would not suggest anyone go to this studio. They run it like a kids play doh class??

My older son went to a glass mosaics class over the summer. Both Marcia and Rebecca are state certified art teachers. I know they have worked in the public schools and have an excellent reputation because it was a school teacher that recommended them to me. They are very patient and recognize the artist in all of us. They offer several different classes and for all age ranges. I know they do private parties for ladies nights out and birthdays, but they also have classes for homeschool groups and pre-k's. On school holidays, they'll only a special project. In the evenings they have mostly grade school level classes in sculpting, mixed media, painting, and later in the evening they offer manga and more advanced sketching classes. You can pay by the class in some cases, or by the session, or for the whole term. Payment can all be handled online, which I really appreciate. All in all, this little studio has been the perfect fit for my son who is into comics and we don't have to drive over to COCA in St. Louis anymore. I feel like this studio has serious enough artists to keep him engaged through high school.

It truly is a playground for kids young and not so young. Playing there reminds me of when I was a young kid making mud pies - I now remember how much fun it was to squish the mud and water in my hands till it held its shape and then patting the "dough" into a form and finishing with "sprinkles" and then baking my cake in the sun. I love that I can still do that at the LampLight! I'm new to throwing clay pots and at my first time at the LampLight, I was surprised that it wasn't as easy as it looks, even with the fine equipment. However, the instructor was very knowledgeable and patient with me and now I can get my bowl to stay upright and not go all wobbly :) The LampLight Studio is definitely worthy - SUPERWORTHY in fact!

A fantastic evening team building with my community! I was finally able to compete in the battle…read morerooms! Each classic game was great to play and made me feel like I was on the real show! The pressure kicks in so that adds to the fun. I went with my fellow Yelp elite members so we had a large group so we played two rounds and ensured everyone got a a turn in 2 hours. The time really flies so enjoy every minute! A tip would be to come up with your best family friendly nickname so the MCs can call you to the stage! The two MCs were so welcoming and supportive of all of our members. They even made a few modifications for us who needed to be seated versus standing. That is a huge plus for mobility accessibility. The game room is not too noisy and all the words or numbers were large on the screen too for those with auditory concerns. The venue was very accessible and the restroom was gender neutral but I did not see a changing table to maybe leave the little littles at home. There is a room to set up banquet tables if you host a party to eat. They also sell juice, tea, lemonade, beer, seltzer, soda, and wines!
