I'm sad to give this place one star, because my facial was great, but the service at the front desk was probably the worst I've ever received. We arrived early for our treatments only to find the door locked and lights off, so went next door to get coffee. We got a call from the receptionist five minutes later saying we were late and our treatments would be cut short for every minute we were late. Then, when we were checking out she forgot to apply our coupon and then got mad at me when I realized she didn't apply it. She was just really snotty and made my experience stressful rather than relaxing. I'll never go there again , especially after how much I spent! read more

I've been here 3 times and loved it every time. My facialist last time was Jodi, and she was FANTASTIC. One of the best facials I've ever had. Her extractions were completely painless! And my skin looked amazing for like 3 days after! I walked around w/no make-up on and actually got compliments on my skin! Nuts. I wish I lived in Breck so I could go here all the time. They are super friendly, never uptight. My only complaint is that in some of the rooms, it's too bright and you can still hear some street noise. read more

I went to the Blue Sage to get ready for a beach vacation. I went for a pedicure and "French" bikini wax as they called it. The girl doing the pedicure was rather difficult to carry on a conversation with and I felt like some of her comments to me were rude. I found myself having carry the whole conversation. Sure I could have ignored her and read a magazine but I've always thought that was kind of rude. Also, I didn't like the soaking method they used...a big basin with marbles in it. The "French" bikini wax is just the same as a regular bikini wax elsewhere. You just pay more for it at the Blue Sage. Lastly, I just didn't like the ambiance of the place. Not quite the tranquil setting I've experienced at other spas. I won't be returning. read more

I came here while on vacation. It was probably THE best experience of my vacay. Nevermind the fact that I was on a family reunion and I needed to get away. This place rocked. The staff are extremely nice and welcoming. The robes are so cozy, I just wanted to curl up in a corner and sleep in it. I'd suggest they sell those robes because I would've paid anything to take one home with me. I got the orange-tangerine body treatment. Total bliss. It's an hour-long treatment that scrubs you down and let's you soak. The end result is buttery smooth skin. My skin is super dry, but after that treatment, my skin was moist for the next three days. I also got the facial which was really good too. Nothing unusual there, just your run-of-the-mill facial. But it was extremely relaxing and the aesthetician spent a lot of time picking out gross stuff from my skin. I like that. Great place, cute location and wonderful service. And it made me forget all about the madness that awaited me at the family reunion. read more

My friend & I did a last minute spa day here, and they were able to accommodate us since the season is a little slow at this point. We each had a massage, a facial, and a spa mani/pedi. They were all excellent and catered to our specific needs: dry skin, ski massage, prenatal massage, etc. The facial products are the Eminence line, which is pricey but amazing. They smell so good - I can't get enough! And they also use the Clarisonic facial brushes on you, which are expensive to purchase on your own so nice to get to use. Other people mentioned issues with service, but every person we had contact with was super-friendly and cheerful - no issues maintaining convo with nail technician. read more

The facial was good and the aesthetician was experienced. No problem with the facial. However, I did not like their business practices. I paid $149 for a 60 minute facial. Twenty minutes into the treatment the aesthetician asked me if I wanted to include any of the add-ons at $30 and $80 each. I was not told ahead of time that there would be add-ons.Because I decided not to get any of the add-ons and just wanted my 60 minute basic facial, she was done with me after 30 minutes. Bottom line: I paid $149 for a 30 minute facial. Too expensive. The staff at Blue Sage Spa should be up front with their clientele and let them know what they're paying for. This is the first time I write a review on anything. But I had to because I felt cheated. I'm not going back. read more

I booked a manicure at Blue Sage Spa when I was in Breckenridge for a wedding. When I arrived, I told my manicurist that I would like a French manicure, and she informed me that I should have said something when I booked my appointment. She said didn't have time for the service I requested. I've never heard of a French manicure taking 15 minutes longer. I settled for a standard manicure, but even that felt rushed. My manicurist kept looking at the clock on the wall behind me, my polish was applied sloppily and my cuticles were still a mess afterwards. This spa looks nice from the outside, but the poor customer service and treatments don't make the ambiance worth it. read more

I'm a seasoned massage client from Miami - yes i've gone to all high and low - so i'm well versed in what makes a spa experience a quality one and generally enjoyable to most. Picky is my middle name. And this is Breckenridge remember - not Aspen or Telluride- which means here we appreciate the more honest and real vibe this town exudes - no pretense, no facade - so along those lines, i must urge anyone looking for a warm, relaxing and peaceful spa treatment to try Blue Sage. From my first encounter with a lovely Amy who greeted me with warmth and personal attention, to the cozy chocolate-color dipped Zen room, to my skilled masseuse who erased weeks of tension in 90 minutes, i can assure anyone looking for a fabulous treatment to select this spa as a certain bet that you will feel comfortable upon arrival and leave enjoying that massage "high" that prompts you to say as i did as i exited - "wow - that was the bessst masssage ever". Every year I go for my as a birthday treat for a pedicure. This year was the best. The spa is beautiful, the people so friendly and accomodating and my pedicurist, Carmella could have not been more personable and professional. The paraphin wrap is amazing and the pedicure can literally last for a month. It is, as always, the people whop make an experience and Carmella was first rate. I will look forward to coming back every year possible...the perfect birthday gift. They have amazing products as well. A little pricey but well worth is as a little goes a long way. read more

A hardworking teachers day out was ruined by Blue Sage Spa. We both booked services at the spa two weeks in advanced and were so excited for our day of pampering. The day before though, a huge, and I mean HUGE, snowstorm hit the Rockies. I am talking 20+ feet and whiteout conditions. Due to the forecast being back and forth between rain and snow the day before we weren't able to predict in time the severity of the storm. We were on our way to Breck from Denver that morning and tried repeatedly to see if we could get in earlier in order to be able to drive back before the storm. We shopped and explored Breck for a few hours but it became very apparent that it was dangerous for us to stay. I-70 was closed EB and most of the towns along the way we're closed and we needed to get back to Denver that night. We called to cancel in hopes that due to the clearly very dangerous storm we would not be charged for $250. Yep, not the case. Right after calling and explaining our predicament my phone was immediately alarmed to the charge. Wow, couldn't run the card fast enough huh? Poor customer service just in general. I mean weather related cancelations should not be subject to their 24 hour cancelation policy. There should be exceptions. Way to go Blue Sage Spa. Hope you feel good about ripping off two teachers on their one day off. read more

I had the Queen of the Nile treatment (90 minutes) and one hour body massage. My friend had the 90 minute body massage followed by the African adventure body treatment (60 minutes). I had scheduled to have the treatments together so that we would end at the same time. My first complaint is that the body treatment only lasted 75 minutes not 90 minutes. Additionally, as this was my first time getting a body treatment, there was no mention exactly what the body treatment involves except pure loveliness. What it includes is 20 minutes in a hot jetted tub, then the scrub (lasts ~10 minutes), then 20 minutes under steam in a capsule, then 3 minute wash off and maybe 5-10 minutes application of lotion. The 60 minute body treatment does not involve the 20 minutes in the hot jetted tub. No one mentioned that I had a glass of water to stay hydrated (there was a glass next to me, but I had no idea if it was left behind from the previous treatment). As a result from the heat and dehydration, I felt terrible - extremely hot and uncomfortable to the point where I threw up multiple times before my massage. Then there was a delay for my massage. I waited ~ 30 minutes for my next service. The massage was relaxing, but I did not get additional pressure as I would have liked because I was not feeling well from the previous treatment. I finished my massage in an hour and felt bad that I was keeping my friend waiting. It turns out that my friend had been even more delayed. We started around 2:15. I ended around 5pm. She didn't finish until close to 6pm. I don't find it relaxing when I have to exit from a nice quiet cozy room to sit in the open in the public "relaxation room" and wait for an extended time for my next service. There is also an 18% gratuity charge. Again, something that was never mentioned on the website. I expected excellent service given previous reviews as well as pricing; however, I was sorely disappointed. read more

I had a facial here on a recent vacation to Breckenridge. I got the anti-aging facial and it was lovely. Stephanie did a really good job explaining what she was doing and she didn't insist that I buy all the products she used although I did buy the face wash, because it was reasonable and I liked it. Worst massage ever! Went for a couple's massage for my wife's birthday. I had such high expectations after reading previous reviews, but was thoroughly disappointed. No parking. Pretentious staff. My therapist talked almost the whole time. Made me feel very uncomfortable while completely exposed. Stretched me more than massaged. I didn't go looking for a therapist or yoga. I went to get rubbed down and relaxed! To top it off, they quoted me 30.00 less per person than what I was charged. My wife said her massage was just ok, so I gave them two instead of one star. Don't go if you expect a good massage for a fair price. read more

My mom and I both enjoyed excellent facials here while visiting Breckenridge. This is a cozy, sweet spa right on Main Street. It's central to everything. Talented and experienced aestheticians - unlike the relatively inexperienced staff at our high end hotel spa. They have great anti-aging technology and use good products. We both were really glowing when we walked out. The staff really went out of their way to be accommodating to our schedule. No pressure to purchase anything but they use some nice and different products so we opted to purchase some goodies anyway. Highly recommend. read more

I wish this place was closer to home. I had a facial by Heather and my mom had a facial by Chantelle. We both had great experiences but when comparing notes it was surprising how many differences- which shows how well they customize the classic facial to the individual. The ambiance was great, a nice relaxing room to wait in with water and tea. Bathrooms were clean and accommodating. Heather did a great job of not too much talk and enough explanation without a sales pitch. She looked at the survey I filled out and used the information to customize my facial. I was never left alone in the room with a mask on like I have at other places (she massaged while waiting) and always felt pampered. Totally disappointed, the massage rooms were cold, played mardi gras jazz music during massage. The therapist was okay but when I asked for deep tissue she said she did shiatsu, ( used her feet ) wasn't that pleasant of an experience. As a nurse I was appalled at the infection control or lack of it. Instruments were hand washed in sink to be used on next person, no autoclave, no individual wrapped items. What a lovely experience my Mom and I had at Blue Sage Spa! It was truly a relaxing spa experience from the minute we scheduled our spa day. My deep tissue massage experience with Julie LaFrano was truly the best massage I've ever had and I've had quite a variety of regular to alternative massages before this. Her deep tissue massage was gentle, but incredibly effective. My Mom had a wonderful hot stone massage with Regina. I also had a super pampered lavender body scrub with Erica. Say yes to the neck massage when she offers one! My Mom raved so much about the facial with Kelly that I went back a couple days later to get one myself. Wow, did Kelly do a great job taking care of my winter dry skin. The decor and rooms are beautiful, the receptionists are so kind and professional, the therapists and estheticians are all very high quality. Enjoy your time there! read more
