I can't say anything about the services, I'm sure they are great. My sister is pregnant and couldn't do a lot of the activities on their trip so decided to come to this spa the other day. I decided to call to pick up one of her services as a surprise. They gave me the amount and I bought the gift card. They told me when she checked out the card was on the account and they would tell her who it was from. She paid in full and wasn't told about the gift card. She only found out because her husband asked about the surprise. When she called they tried to tell her the amount they would refund her was $140 when I paid $233. Just felt super sketchy. This was trying to create a special moment that was absolutely botched and it felt like they were trying to rip her off. Disappointing to say the least. read more

I worked for this company for a while (when they had two locations). There are two owners, one is lovely, kind and has a beautiful soul. The other is like an offspring of the Anti-Christ. Within moments you will be able to distinguish between the two. Had a deep tissue massage with Jenna and it was wonderful! The prices for massage were quite reasonable and she did a few things that I have never had and it was amazing. She stretched my hip flexors and released so much tension and she did the frog stretches which really helped my sciatica. As someone who gets massages every week I can tell you Jenna is exceptional! I recommend booking in advance since they stay pretty busy throughout the week. I arrived 10 minutes early, checked in and was brought to their waiting area, which has some magazines, tea, chocolates and lemon water. I asked the front desk clerk for a robe (usually a standard practice at most spas) to change into while I waited, but she told me the robes were reserved for customers having more than one service. I politely asked if she could make an exception and she was nice enough to agree (thank you). I had a one hour Swedish massage, which was great. I left there very relaxed, calm and stress-free! I don't go to "spas" for "stuff." I go for a haircut, a eyebrow wax type of thing ... I - a: dont have the money b: am not a girly girl. But I needed to kill some time in Colorado Ski Country. So I booked $300 bucks worth of "stuff" here. Yup- I will feel it when the bill comes. I think what I booked was "afternoon delight" or something. No, there was no " skyrockets in flight" involved. I was happy w the experience. They were really helpful with scheduling and pricing when I called from out of state. they were great with directions and parking help when I was worried about the drive from Keystone to Breck. They gave me alcohol and water without being asked.... My facial was nice- I don't have a lot of experience with these. There was little hard sale of the products they were using. The massage was excellent I think. The pressure was how I asked and they focused on the areas I requested with some education tossed in about the pains I ahve been having in various ( rapidly aging) parts of my killer body. I got the body treatment, which was different than anywhere else. They had a "tanning bed" type of thing where only my head struck out. They scrubbed me down with the sugar stuff and then closed the lid and the steam came out. After a while, the shower came on and washed it off. I was really suprised by the amount of product they used. I had tons of the sugar stuff on me and when they finished with the shea butter.,They gave me more than I could use even after putting it everywhere on me 3 times. I had it on myself cause I mentioned I wanted to shower. The locker room was a delight- steam shower that they turned out early for me so it warmed up, lots of products to try. My only complaint was I only had 1 towel to shower with and needed to steal one from another open locker. How do women shower with only 1 towel? UPDATE: Went again in March 2012 and it was just as good as the year before. NO hard sell on facial products, which was great. read more

I enjoyed a wonderful hot stone massage from Katie this morning. This was my first professional massage, and I can confidently say it will be the first of many. Katie did an awesome job, finding all of my sore spots and redefining the word "relaxation" for me. The massage was a bit pricy, but worth every penny in my opinion! I still feel amazing. The spa itself was very nice with super friendly staff. The waiting room was complete with hot tea and infused water to help us stay relaxed before and after our massages. Katie was able to read my body to figure out what areas were the most tense while not being too talkative, promoting a state of deep relaxation. Had a great facial experience! They explained every step and made sure my allergies and sensitivities were accounted for. After a summer of sunscreen, they really went to town on my pores. Popped on some hydrocolloid stickers overnight and woke up with everything clear and healed. The micro current is the nuface, great if you want to try that out but not the heavy duty microcurrent you may be used to. They offer physical sunscreens for the post facial sun protection, which is really fantastic. The best part of the experience was that the aesthetician wore a silk mask as their standard and offered to swap into N95 and face shields if you prefer. It has been hard to find places that have good protocols lately, and I was very grateful to find a place that took my safety and well-being seriously. read more

I went here on day 2 of a bachelorette weekend with a gaggle of girls and we had a blast! All of us treated ourselves to massages to work out the knots from skiing the day before. I admit I was a bit concerned when my masseuse was a 5'2" 75lb wisp of a girl; there is no way, I thought, she's gonna be able to give my muscles the firm working over that they so desperately needed. Boy was I surprised when she started mooshing my back, I never would have guessed such a tiny gal would have such strong hands! I happily drooled away the next hour. I also treated myself to a pedicure, which at the Blue Sage includes a parafin dip. Heaven! My tired tootsies felt super refreshed, and were sporting the latest glam colors from OPI. My only disappointment with the pedi was that the massage part seemed pretty short/weak. Maybe my lady thought my massage covered that base but to me the foot/calf massage is the highlight of any pedicure. The spa waiting area was cozy with lots of sunlight and reading material and everyone was quite content to wait there while the other gals had their treatments. My polish was still wet when it was time to move on and the spa, very thoughtfully, put my feet in baggies so my polish wouldn't smoosh, and it worked! Be apprised however, that the prices reflect that this spa is in a resort town. If it hadn't been a special weekend I never (ever) would have splurged like I did. PS: The front desk area has lots of cute jewelry, spa goodies and accessories for sale. Great place to buy cute little (or sensual) presents! read more

We came here for a couples massage, and had a wonderful experience. We were told we could bring out own champagne, which we did-- you hand the bottle over upon check in and the welcoming staff brought a us two flutes full in the relaxation room. The massage was the best massage I've ever had. My therapist even had to work around my road rash on my left side and did so beautifully. They allowed us to bring our glasses up to the room, and we were greeted with another glass of our champagne upon the end of our massage. They welcomed us to sit and relax for as long as we wanted too after, but we opted to head out for lunch and leave the rest of our bottle behind. I really wanted to give this place four and a half stars, but that's not an option. The only part of the experience that was lacking was the busy downtown location right on main street. If I had stepped out of or into a side street it would have been perfect. Once you're inside though the waiting area is nice and understated. I went for the Ashiatsu massage. I heard about it before and it's not easy to come by. For those who like Deep Tissue this is even better. The amount of pressure available to the therapist is so much better and they still can apply light pressure where needed. They can also apply more lubricant without losing targeted control of any knots/adhesions they find, so it's the best of both worlds (all the smoothness of Swedish with the pressure of Deep Tissue). It was relaxing and Erika described the process thoroughly beforehand. read more

I've always had issues with my back being insanely tense so Liz mainly focused on my back - which I really needed because at the time I was having issues with my neck (and haven't had them since!). Liz was very knowledgeable and suggested if the massage didn't help my neck that I should see a chiropractor. Luckily - her massage did the trick! The spa as a whole -- I know my friend who has a house in Breckenridge frequents the spa when she's in town -- so I expected it to be a great experience and it certainly was! Came here for the second time, and both times were a positive experience. The massage by Shawn was very good. It was probably my first time every telling a massage therapist that the pressure was too much. I was sore from a day of cross country skiing, and had a ton of knots in my neck/upper back from a stressful month at work. By the end of the massage, my body felt like Jello. I was so relaxed that I fell asleep during my facial that followed. The facial was ok, not great, not horrible. I don't think the products they used were very potent (this might be a plus for some people); when she asked me if I felt any tingling, I did not feel a damn thing. My skin looked great when I left, but I can't say that there were any lasting effects like I've had from other facials. At least the extractions she did didn't leave my face looking pock-marked. The locker room is teeny, but it's a small spa, so I suppose that's ok. I do love their big fuzzy robes. They do need more medium size sandals---I had to flop around in larges, since my hooves wouldn't fit into the smalls (I'm a size 8 1/2). Prices are reasonable, pretty much what you would expect for a resort town. Overall, a good experience. If I'm back in Breckenridge again in need of a massage, I would head back here for sure. read more

I visit Breckenridge often from Denver and have been to Blue Sage Spa several times over the years. The front desk has always been helpful, professional and more than accommodating. I've had facials, massages and body treatments from quite a few different therapists and have never been disappointed. I don't like a fluff & buff massage and have always had a therapist who knows how to work deeply. I'd highly recommend Katie, Joanna & Heather for massage. The facials I've had are relaxing and I've had amazing results from them. I'd definitely recommend a hydro facial from Amy or Heather....you will not be disappointed! I'm finding it tough to review this place... My wife and I both scheduled massages and were treated to great therapists. Rebecca and Alexis were great and deserving of 5 stars each. They were both friendly and very good at their craft. The massages were first class all the way! The reason for the 3 star rating is the rest of the experience. When we were booking the treatment, we were offered a 20% discount for anything over $50. Based on this offer we booked our services. Upon checking out after our treatments we were not given the discount. Later that day we looked at the receipt and noticed the mistake. We went back to the spa and were informed that the discount is not given unless it's requested. Really!? Pretty lame. They reluctantly refunded the $$$. I will still give this place a recommendation based on the great massages, just pay close attention to the bill. 5 stars for the massage, 1 star for the transaction= overall 3 stars. read more

I decided to get a pedicure while on vacation in Breckenridge. I've visited Blue Sage on previous visits, but I've never had nail services so I thought I would try it. It was the fastest pedicure I've EVER had. The "massage" was very limited and only went to my ankles. The entire pedicure lasted about 20 min. You sit in a plan chair that wasn't really comfortable at all and then they put your feet in a large plastic bowl with marbles. My feet did not feel pampered at all. It was not worth $25 much less the $79 they charge. The lady at the front desk only charged me for the express ($55) since I told her I would never come back for a pedicure. I appreciate her effort, but again SO not worth the money. read more
