Today I went in for a broken crown that was covering an implant I had done 10 years ago. Unfortunately the crown broke and he was able to offer me a great consultation and referral to the best Implant Dentist in the county to have the post removed so he can make a new crown with his great in house technology. By doing this it saves extra cost and time having an outside service do the crown that can often take many weeks. I would recommend Dr Joe Nguyen to anyone looking for professional honest Dentist!! Oh and he is also a great musician!! : )

I really wanted to love this place. I was excited to finally find a local dentist through my…read moreinsurance, but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth--literally and figuratively. From the moment I sat down, it felt like the goal wasn't to help me, it was to upsell me. A dental hygienist came in and strongly pushed an extremely expensive deep cleaning treatment, claiming I had gum disease and bone loss--despite no other dentist ever telling me this before. The plan involved lasers and multiple stages of treatment totaling around $2,200--and that was with my two insurance policies on file. I came in to address an painful bump on my palate and potentially a failing crown, but it seemed like unless I paid heavily out of pocket, they couldn't or wouldn't move forward. I only allowed them to do imaging and the exam. The rest felt like a sales pitch. And that's not why I go to a dentist. The doctor I saw (Dr. Ekta) told me that a root canal I had done at another office was "botched" and needed to be redone--which is fine, that's her professional opinion. But when I asked if she could write a brief statement or letter so I could appeal the insurance claim, she refused. To me, that's a red flag. If you're confident enough in your diagnosis to tell me I need to redo a major dental procedure, you should be confident enough to put that in writing to support your patient. I had to use her chart notes, which were vague at best. The only positive part of my visit was the x-ray technician--she had a great personality and made me feel comfortable during that part of the process. Props to her. But overall, the practice feels profit-driven, not patient-focused. Between the aggressive upselling, the lack of support with my insurance, and the general vibe of "pay big or get nothing," I won't be returning. And if you're thinking of coming here--read the reviews first.

My previous dentists have been nothing short of awful and it took me a long time to find a reputable business. It could go into detail about all of my horror stories but ain't nobody got time to read that novel! I will admit, I try to take relatively good care of my teeth, but obviously, annual visits for are a must for everyone, not matter how meticulous you try to be in caring for your teeth. So needless to say, it took me years to get over my fear and just find a solid professional. My dentist is Dr. Anita Verma. She is the absolute BEST! When I tell you how gentle Dr. Verma is, that is a massive understatement. I didn't even know dentists were capable of being gentle if I'm being honest. I actually look forward to going to the dentist now that I am under her care. She constantly asks if you are okay throughout your cleanings and explains all her findings in detail. My husband also raves about Dr. Verma as he has a difficult time with cleanings, so she positioned him in a way that made it easier for him to manage in the chair. They also recommended an oral surgeon to him who also had equally stellar service. Kim manages the front office and is awesome. I usually communicate with her by email or text and she is always prompt and courteous in setting me up for my appointments and answering questions about my insurance coverage. I also love that they do not upsell their services but simply make recommendations. I'm due to go back soon for a crown (my very first one) and I am not in the least bit terrified like I would normally be going to another dentist. 5 incredible, shiny stars!

They took their time, checked in with me multiple times during the cleaning, and talked through my dental health in detail. I really appreciated how attentive and thorough they were. I've suffered from TMJ/TMD for most of my adult life to the point where neck, shoulder and back…read moretension, tension headaches, jaw pain and tooth sensitivity were an everyday occurrence. Over the years I sought care from acupuncturist, chiropractors, massage therapists, dentists and TMJ/TMD specialists. A variety of pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical interventions (IM injections of muscle relaxants, oral muscle relaxers, antidepressants, ECT treatments, exercise, meditation, mindfulness) only provided temporary relief. Additionally, I wore through THREE different "night guards." One of which was an "at-home DIY" guard and the last two were professionally cast by dentists. A year ago I visited a dentist who sent me off with a night guard and a prescription for antidepressants. I was so confused about the relevance of the medication and was not sure how they were related to the TMJ/TMD. In about two months, the night guard was warped and all of the associated symptoms of muscle tension and headaches returned. After searching for a TMJ/TMD specialist in San Diego I came across Dr Cook. The treatment plan was extensive, detailed and meticulous. Dr Cook didn't just cast a piece of plastic and send me on my way a week later. There was an initial consultation, fees discussed, a sleep study (because for the first time Dr Cook explained that the anatomy of my airway and my sleep quality contributed to the grinding/clenching), imaging, in-office electromyogram (to measure muscle contractions at rest and while clenched) and dental work to correct the bite so that an orthodic could be made. Dr Cook was the first dentist to tie together sleep quality, anatomy and pathology and actually EXPLAIN how they contribute to TMJ/TMD. The road to recovery was long and Dr Cook and her staff were professional, courteous and accommodating the entire time. She was so meticulous that she made adjustments down to the very millimeter- and for someone who'd tried everything to no avail for years, I was relieved by her level of dedication. Thank you Dr Cook, Dawn, Maria and all of the staff. Since having the orthodic my sleep has improved, my energy level during the day is better, I'm not wearing my teeth down and I feel so much better!
