A few days later, I was running late to my appointment and called to reschedule. However, I learned through that phone call that they did not have my tires in stock but they had a different brand that they could install that day. Yes, 5 minutes before my appointment I was informed they did not have the tires I reserved. Upon arriving at the store, they clarified that the Continental VikingContact 8's I wanted had a $180 freight charge that I would have to pay if I still wanted them, and that they'd have to install it another day. They then suggested their other snow tires, the Blackhawk Ice Prey's, to put on my car that day. During my search for tires in previous weeks, I did not once come across the brand Blackhawk at my local tire stores. Even Mavis's own website does not have these tires. Upon doing some quick research in their store, reviews noted the tires were a budget tire and performed as such. The price at Mavis would've been barely cheaper than the more premium ones I had reserved without the freight charge. Other websites had the Ice Prey's cheaper than Mavis by over $70/tire. Overall disappointed at the lack of communication and the up charged pricing on the budget tires they were trying to sell me. At least their staff were kind and explained the situation to me when I got in the store. They also were understanding that I did not want to pay the price of premium tires for budget tires. Definitely do your research.

The estimate for the work was high. My insurance company and Livingston Collision (LC) exchanged…read moreemails for two weeks while the car was in the shop, but LC did not lower their estimate. At that point, LC was going to charge storage fees of $250/day if they did not do the work. I had to pay several thousand dollars to cover the insurance short fall to get my repaired car back. So, if your insurance company is unlikely to meet the LC estimate, take your car out of the shop (and pay the LC diagnosis cost) until you're sure your insurance company will cover the bill, or go to another body shop.

The owner sells himself to be an amazing auto shop and the vehicle will be ready over the weekend, I have over a month and a half waiting for parts. He simply wanted to cash the Progressive check. It's been ridiculous. I had to rent a car for a week for work as he said my vehicle would be ready during the week. Went to check on the car it was never worked on as the pieces didn't arrive. I paid 1K out of pocket for nothing. It's been 3.5 weeks and haven't heard of the pieces arrived, ETA, nothing but he sure is enjoying that money. Do not come here at all! Do yourself a favor and read the reviews! His staff don't know what they are doing either! Believe the reviews! Do not bring your vehicle to this place!
