I had no idea what to expect out of Salina, KS as I was just stopping by on the way to Denver from NY but Blue Skye delivered in a big way. I grew up right outside NYC and have had access to amazing pizza my whole life and Blue Skye's could compete there no problem and their home brews stack up against those from major metro areas. After a rough morning, my husband and I wanted a bit of lunch that we could count on being tasty. We had been told about the Blue Skye Brewery and decided to give it a try. They make thin crust pizzas, which are not necessarily our favorites, but they use a wood-fired oven, which was a big plus and their sauce was exceptionally tasty. The cheese and pepperoni were good quality and the pizza was one of the best we've ever had. Looking forward to being back in the area - we will definitely return. read more

On a Wednesday you would expect better service. It took forever to get our beers even before it was crowded. Our wood fired pizza was not even charred and we received no silverware, as there was none cleaned as explained to us by our waiter. My husband and I ate here recently while in the area overnight on a roadtrip. I found Blue Skye on Yelp. Our GPS took us through a run-down part of town, but then into the small old downtown area. I'm glad we found it! It was busy even on a Tuesday night. I eat vegan or vegetarian. Those offerings were slim, but we really enjoyed the shared Greek salad and Cantina Pizza (with chicken on half for my husband). Service and beer selection were great! Definitely worth a jaunt off I-70 if you're in the area. read more

Beer was very good, crisp and delicious - the IPA was not overwhelming. The pizza was good, though nothing to write home about. Ambiance was great, and everyone else seemed to enjoy their meal. This place was amazing! Pizza is super good. I had them make me a pizza that wasn't in their menu. Did a chicken buffalo pizza with ranch drizzled on the top. Chicken, bufflao sauce, onions, and cheese! Amazing. Just simply amazing! Oh and the beer at this place is just fantastic! That Watermelon beer they had over the summer should be brewed year around. Great place for brews and eats. I have a dairy allergy and they never cease to delight and amaze with their delicious, wood fired pizzas and house brewed beers. Interesting. The space has an identity crisis but it seems to work. It's not a bar and not a brewery and not a pub and not an artesian restaurant. But it's all of them. While I was there for lunch I could tell this would be a great place to meet for dinner or late night bar food as well as good for lunch. My waitress dis five my fries as if working for a upper end dinning place where the chief creates daily specials. It was nice. Meat on my cheese burger was cooked correctly and was hot. 3 stars because I had to ask for pickles when I was told the cheese burger came with. Turns out it was a wedge. Also the tomato is only served while in season and my fries were over cooked. I will return. Good food over all. read more

Visiting Salina and a simple Yelp search for craft brews brought up Blue Skye Brewery. My entire family dropped in for lunch and from the minute we walked in the door to the time we left was a five-star experience. I ordered a flight of beer and the beers were all pretty good. I'm very particular when it comes to IPAs and one of the two I really liked, and the other was was just OK, but nonetheless, all four were pretty good. We ordered two pizzas and then my youngest daughter changed her mind after our order was put in and the staff made the change without any issues and were extremely cool and friendly about it. Their pizzas were very good and the crust is definitely something special. Our waiter was a college kid who immediately told us he was in training, but based on his outstanding service level, I would have thought he had worked there for a long time. Just an overall good experience and a well deserved five stars. It was my first time visiting Salina KS and have to say I was very impressed and will definitely go out of my way to eat and drink at Blue Skye when in Salina. read more

We ate here in the middle of a long road trip from NC to CO. A great find in what seemed like the middle of nowhere. The place had a great environment, and I know my husband was a fan of what he ate. Stopped here for lunch on my way to Denver for farm-to-table GF food, and it was delicious, but super slow service. Figured on the way back it would be good to stop here after the driving and just stay in Salina for the night. Imaging how frustrating to drive seven hours down the road and expect a nice dinner, only to find out the hours on Yelp and the Internet are incorrect - please fix!!! Food here was really good. Had a burger and a Pizza. Pizza had real good flavor. Burger patty was kind of small.

Beer is pretty good and the pizza would be really good if they would put about 25% of the meat on the pizza. The sausage is great but it's all you can taste. Atmosphere is good. TVs could be larger. read more

We really loved this place the food was amazing. We ordered two pizzas a pepperoni and an Italian with garlic butter sauce instead of red sauce. The red sauce was sweet and salty just perfectly paired with the salty pepperoni and the house blend cheese. The homemade sausage was very flavorful and I loved how much Rosemary was in it! I've been here a few times with different people. I'm not a beer fan, but my husband really enjoyed the B-17 Blonde. Their wings are amazeballs. They have quality toppings for their pizzas and can accommodate picky orders. A friend ordered the spicy chicken bacon ranch on one half and I asked for custom toppings on the other half - all for $12! Toppings are generous and full of flavor. I'm not sure if it's a Kansas thing, but they also suggest putting honey on the crust after you've eaten the main part of the pizza - I do that now every time we get pizza for takeout back home! Genius! The only negatives were slow service and it was pretty loud in there. A friend and I were in a far corner and we still couldn't hear each other. read more

Stopped in for a random lunch, turned out to be great meal. Ordered the Texan burger which had a great amount of heat to compliment the burger. The reason this is not a 5 star review is they did not have the IPA I requested on the menu and they were very understaffed for the time of day. The poor waitress was actually jogging to tables she was so busy and couldn't keep up. But the food is awesome definitely worth another stop next time I am in town.
