Enthusiastic, informed, and encouraging. She has an encyclopedic knowledge of the kitchen and bar. We must have interacted with a dozen folks: hosts, food runners, sommelier, and managers. Everyone was unfailing polite and professional. bar: I drank a Bulleit Rye Manhattan ($11) and my wife had a Grey Goose Cosmo ($13). Both were strong showings of those two classic cocktails. I followed up with a Boulevard Single Wide IPA bottle ($6) and was thrilled to see that old reliable. food: Service begins with exceptional bread and complimentary Baba Ghanoush. The menu described my wife's Pappardelle Bolognese ($25) as having, "mean mule Bolognese sauce." Have never seen the term, mean mule, but this version appeared to incorporate some cream. My 5 oz. Salmon Piccata ($25) with broccolini, asparagus, and rice was very good. We finished with Ultimate Chocolate Cake ($16) and - as the menu describes - it really is for two persons or take-home. It was my birthday and the restaurant graciously comped my dessert, which was extremely nice. details: This is a large, bustling, bright restaurant with choice of inside, outside, and bar seating. Reservations are highly recommended, at least for busy times. We parked on the street and even on Saturday night with a show at the Stiefel Theatre we had no problems.

I arrived at Chili's and was seated quickly, but I immediately noticed that the restaurant didn't…read moreseem very clean. The mirrors and windows were dirty, and my booth had crayons, hair, and crumbs both in the seat crack and on the floor. There was also gum stuck underneath the table. As I waited, I watched an employee cleaning nearby tables. They wiped the tabletop and even cleaned the floor, but they completely neglected to clean the booth seats. I also saw another employee wipe down the half wall next to the booths without using any cleaning spray--they simply rubbed it with a towel. Watching those cleaning practices made me even more concerned about the restaurant's overall cleanliness. The menu was very large with lots of items to choose from, but there were no daily specials or featured menu items, which was a little disappointing. I ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger with fries and mozzarella sticks. The burger was very disappointing. The beef had almost no flavor except for the crusty outside, the mushrooms were raw and didn't seem fresh, and the tomatoes tasted old. The mozzarella sticks tasted like they came straight from the frozen food aisle, and when I broke one open, water poured out, which was very unappetizing. On top of that, the wait for my food was much longer than expected. Overall, the cleanliness, food quality, and long wait made for a very disappointing dining experience. Based on what I experienced and observed, I don't plan to return unless these issues are addressed. (When I tried to address these concerns in person, I was greeted by a woman who identified herself as "one of the managers," which suggests there are multiple managers responsible for the restaurant at the same time? Which was weird. Makes me wonder how the kitchen staff is set up. Is there a head chef and does everyone communicate to each other? I shared my concerns respectfully, but what was even more disappointing was discovering that many of the same issues I experienced today have been mentioned repeatedly in customer reviews going back as far as six months. In many of those responses, management assured customers the problems would be addressed, yet I observed many of the same issues firsthand. That gives the impression that these concerns are acknowledged publicly but not consistently corrected.)

A server took my order so I waited an hour for my dinner and everyone else had finished eating before mine everyone arrived. Will was our server and was overwhelmed but between Will and Manager Emma made it right for me and I was satisfied with the recovery of the errors. Things happen and just have patience with the staff if possible. I was starving so I was wanting to be upset but breathe and let them do what they do. I appreciated them for making it a good experience instead of leaving and give terrible reviews or bad tips. That's a no no. Just speak to them. I went 5 star because of the effort given once a problem occurred.
