Blue Sparrow Coffee is easily one of the best coffee spots in the city. I got the hot caramel latte with oat milk, made with their Headliner espresso. The espresso was dialed in perfectly, not too bitter and not too light. I couldn't really taste the caramel, but the latte itself was still delicious. 8.7/10. Service was amazing, they were super patient while I was ordering. The space is also big with plenty of seating, making it a great spot to get work done. read more

I've been Blue Sparrow Coffee quite a few times over the years. The place is convenient to visit when I'm downtown and there's good seating to get some work done. I like their attention to international coffee culture, including flat whites and "long blacks." I appreciate that they have oat milk placed out for customers (not just cow's milk). The service is usually friendly enough. On my most recent visit I was hungry and picked up a very tempting gluten-friendly lemon poppy seed cake, but against my better judgment, since it was sitting in the cake cabinet alongside everything else (why do coffee shops still do this?). Unfortunately, I paid for that decision and was sick for three days afterwards. Blue Sparrow, please consider keeping gluten-free items clearly separated, it would make a big difference. read more

Pretty solid shop in downtown Denver. Had the Nitro Cold Brew and the Japanese cold brew. I'm not a fan of ice in nitro drinks as it ruins the mouthfeel for me, so ask for no ice if you feel the same. Coffee still tasted pretty good and I liked the Japanese cold brew as well. I also enjoyed a great poppyseed cake that went well with the coffee. The interior of the shop was really nice and comfortable, there's a patio available too. There's beans for sale, but they were a bit old, so definitely check the dates to understand what you're buying. Definitely recommend if you're around. read more

They make their own syrups and did a great job on the cappuccino. Had the miso caramel. Nice little spot. The headliner espresso was decent. Little acidic but not bad. None of their beans mentioned organic so unsure if they are otherwise would have bought a bag. read more

Their CBD nitro coffee is my addiction. Giving them only stars because their almond pastry to go with it is my other addiction and the last several times I've been there, they have been out of the almond croissant - which is seriously excellent - has the buttery almond paste slathered inside of it - YUM with crunchy almonds and powdered sugar in a flaky buttery croissant. They have even referred me to other coffee shops and also straight to their bakery - Hearth since I have been so annoyed when they are out of it at like 10am in the morning. :) They are basically open until the early evening - it seems like they shouldn't run out of almond croissants so early daily. All well, that's my gripe! The CBD Nitro coffee is so effective tho, and I get so much stuff done when I drink it! I've had several meetings with friends and business associates here and also just come to do some solo work on my iPad. It was cool for awhile but then they started blasting music that is not conducive to working. Not sure if that is still happening since I havent been there in awhile now since they are always out of their delicious almond croissants! This is a beautiful Cap Hill establishment. read more

I had a chocolate croissant and the Japanese Iced Coffee. The iced coffee was strong and delicious. I wish the pastry had been warmed but they didn't appear to be able to warm them. This space is bright, sleek, and modern. From the outside, I would never assume that it was a coffee shop - it appears to be an office space. There's plenty of indoor seating. While there I only noticed two workers and they worked efficiently with one another. read more

Really classy place to get coffee close to the Capitol Building. Love the variety of drinks that they have. Super friendly people working here that are more than happy to give you drink suggestions. Love it. The location is a little odd because its a lobby of a hotel or something and its on a corner of a street that ends at the capital building such that its not a street that gets much traffic. That being said, the shop itself is lovely and if you arent just happening by you should make an excuse to visit. Its sort of a, idk, retro modern vibe? Its cool whatever you call it. The baristas are friendly and the quality of the coffee is great. The baked goods are great but thats because they are clearly from Hearth, so dont expect something you arent getting anywhere else on the pastry front. That being said, in Denver if you are sourcing your pastries from anywhere IT SHOULD be Hearth. Where this business is differentiating itself is with its house blends of beans. As someone just getting into making espresso at home, I am especially interested in trying the espresso at a variety of locations with a variety of beans. Im watching for the nuance of how you do it etc. as the owners of a hypothetical coffee shop passport this place is a must. If i worked at the capital I'd be here all the time. read more

Cute coffee shop! I ordered an iced latte with almond milk and my husband just a drip coffee. They don't offer traditional sugar or Splenda packets but have liquid sugars. Great selection of pastries. We had the chocolate croissant which was good although I wish they were able to warm it up. Service was quick! read more

It seems like quite a few coffeeshops are opening in the basements of apartment complexes, which is smart. This one is attached to Sudler. It's HUGE, compared to other Blue Sparrow locations. Metered parking is plentiful in the area, though the neighborhood attracts interesting characters, some of which walked into the coffeeshop. Anyways, I was productive getting a few hours of work done on their strong open Wi-Fi network. The place is super clean, and the baristas and managers are eager to create a positive experience for their customers. Love the variety of furniture and tables available for individuals or small groups to hang at. Would love to have this as a daily option if I lived here! read more

I've heard about Blue Sparrow for a while but finally had a chance to visit! Wow - I love this location and this shop. It was physically accessible, had gender neutral bathrooms, and felt clean and modern. I came on a Friday morning, a little after 9 am, and most of the tables were taken but there were still a few spots open. There are different options for seating and I sat at a spot by the window. Coffee was good - feels like it meets a high standard and I have no complaints. Besides needing to pay for street parking (this feels like the only downside if you don't walk/bike/bus), I had a great experience getting some work done here before going to an appointment downtown. read more

Wow, what a great addition to Denver! I love the clean white aesthetic. It would really be a pleasant place to spend an afternoon reading or studying, sipping coffee and nibbling one of their delectable pastries. The barista with the green hair was delightful. She was so nice. My husband and I split the ham and cheese croissant, which was to die for. I could happily go get another three right now and eat them all while he's sleeping and pretend I didn't get any. The coffees were really good. I ended up trying the Japanese iced and it was tasty. My husband got the CBD nitro though, and I had a serious case of drink envy after trying his. Next time I will be getting the CBDNitro- it was smooth and strong and of course the CBD kept the caffeine jitters in check. read more

Blue Sparrow is one of my go-to spots in Denver for grabbing a coffee and getting some work done or just to read a book and relax. They do a great job with a variety of unique offerings such as the Golden Latte which is a turmeric-based drink. One word: phenomenal. The space itself is very modern, sleek, and bright, making a great environment to work, read, or just catch up with a friend while enjoying great coffee. Small parking lot but easy walk around to a warm welcome with the air blowers to prevent drafts. Ordered a vanilla mocha in house and it was delicious. From the espresso pulls to the froth art and the creamy taste, it was more than memorable. Only one person was working behind the counter but he worked at a nice pace helping customers but also being a barista. It was clean and classy with dining tables, WiFi, modern couches, coffee tables, but also beautiful but simple wall decor. read more

Delicious coffee extracted from high end. "They slay". Super courteous baristas, and very reasonable prices for a cup of coffee, pour over, or latte. They have fresh baked goods, and the environment is light and bright. Outside you have a few of the state capital, and it's a wonderful place to get away for a moment. read more

Another great new coffee shop in the city! Blue Sparrow seems to be in an office building but very easy to find. I came in on a Thursday morning and it was a slower morning. I got welcomed by the barista at the counter. He was very friendly and let me know, he could answer any questions if I needed help. I asked him what his favorite drink was and I went just with that! I got an iced oat milk matcha and it was definitely the right choice. The matcha flavor was strong and smooth. He also suggested a few other drinks that seemed delicious. The newest iteration of Blue Sparrow was the coffee shop I didn't know I needed in my life. They've been an important player in the local coffee scene for years, and their stunning new space is their magnum opus. They took over a historic building a block away from the Capitol, and I'm sure those employees have been rejoicing and singing Blue Sparrow's high praises since they opened back in August. You walk in to a meticulously laid out and designed space curated for those looking for something quick OR for staying for a long time. And I mean it when I say long time. I've been here multiple times for hours and hours on end. It's just inviting and welcoming and I never want to leave! The coffee menu is similar (if not exactly the same) to what you'll find at their other outposts. You'll catch me with an iced americano, japanese iced coffee, golden latte, or matcha latte. They don't know how to make bad drinks here, so anything you order you'll be in for a treat. The baristas are knowledgeable and friendly if you have questions on anything! Don't skip out on the pastries too. Hearth Bakery, a local spot, bakes them fresh every morning. And damn, they are FANTASTIC. Cap Hill already had some coffee shops I enjoyed, but wow Blue Sparrow brought their A game for their newest venture. Whenever I'm near Downtown I have to pop in for a damn great cup of coffee. This coffee spot was hopping. Tons of people coming, leaving, and just hanging out. It caters to the work week clientele with a young vibrant vibe. It is clean and unexpected. I am always looking for an adventure so I gave this place a whorle. The barista was knowledge about and super friendly. Only positive vibes in this haunt. That is where it lost me. I ordered the standard latte. It was decent. Less full body and more bright of the breakfast blend or blond roast variety. I prefer the dark soul, deep body roast for my espresso. The temperature was luke warm and my preference is for a hotter temperature. But it was drinkable just a little less satisfying for me. I also opted for the almond croissant. Almond croissants are my favorite and this one did not live up to expectation. It started off well, making me believe it had promise. It was crisp to the point of being twiced baked with a super flaky outside leaving a trail of evidence. But that is where my love letter ends. It did not have the typical filling inside. This one was akin to texture of pecan pie filling, less sweet and more salty. Wasn't a bad flavor but the texture and abundance took away from the pastry. This was not a bad spot, good in a pinch. It won't be a favorite on my dance card. read more

This is the perfect spot to grab a quick coffee in the middle of a work day! The vanilla latte is insanely good and service is always very fast and friendly. They don't have a ton of specialty drink options, but they've nailed the basics. It's cute on the inside too, Id love to stay longer sometime and work from here. read more

Absolutely love this coffee shop! It is huge compared to other Blue Sparrow locations and has plenty of seating to work remotely, or just hang out and catch up with friends! It is pretty quick inside but there is also some cute outdoor seating as well. Staff is very friendly and can give recommendations. Coffee and tea are priced pretty similiarly to other Denver coffee shops. Got an iced vanilla matcha latte and while it was sweet, it was delicious! Definitely prefer it over many other matchas in Denver if you want a sweeter latte! They have pastries as well, but I did not purchase. Will definitely be back! read more

On my morning walk, I found this coffee shop randomly and ordered a vanilla latte. This vanilla latte was very good and not too sweet and served at the right temperature. As I took a picture of this latte, the barista said this makes his day when customers take a pic of his work. I thought that was cool because it showed how dedicated he was to his craft. wow I really loved this cute coffee shop. The coffee was delicious and well curated. My barista really took his time making the coffee to a good level (not saying he is slow by any means), it was actually very quick. I got a matcha latte also and guided me in the right direction on the level of sweetness the matcha has. The whole coffee shop has great vibes and very minimalist Japanese style which I loved! They were slightly going under construction by the front door when I went but overall it wasn't too noisy and a great place to work or catch up with a friend. They had free reusable yelp sleeves to take home with you. read more

My mom has a classic latte and was happy with her choice. Staff was friendly but not the most attentive. They forgot our muffin and I overheard them making a few other errors. Maybe they need more caffeine?

It's definitely more than a simple coffee shop for sure. Service, however, was quite basic. The lady upfront smiled but hesitantly. She wasn't rude but I simply didn't feel welcome. Hence describing their current customer service system or skills as "good" might fuel their egos (wow, did I really say that?? LOL!!) My quad latte was decent/good. I could have done less espresso shots as it sure was strong or too strong (this wasn't their fault; it was mine.) Yes, in conclusion, the shop can and should refine its service (upping it one more level might draw solid raves from the people). Well. I'm not that distraught by any means so in due time, I might utilize them in the future.
