Blue is a damn, damn good place to go. The vegan options are wide and varied (Hello full vegan menu), and most importantly - good. It is a bit pricey as it is a downtown Naperville location, but it fits for a lot of family activities that tend to match what I do: friends in Bartlett, swimming events nearby, etc. They have two(!) nice outdoor seating areas in addition to lots of space inside - making this a great consideration for summer. I've been here at least 2 if not 3 times now, and I will be coming again. Happy hour menu during Happy hour (which I believe is Sunday) is well worth it. I found my photos for both days, and added them. I do appreciate they have the qr code stuff for paying at the table as well. A great family friendly spot that has ALL DAY happy hour deals on Sundays. Which is the day that we came in =). Staff members were accommodating and kind. When I go out with my infant I usually bring a stroller. Places have been hit or miss when I bring it in, but thankfully Blue Sushi Sake Grill had no issues with it. They placed my group in a spot where no one would be reaching over or around my baby. I greatly appreciated this! The options for happy hour are large, probably the best happy hour menu I've seen, EVER. The deals included drinks and food. I tried the white peach daiquiri and it was refreshing. It was a bit on the artificial side but overall I really liked it. It comes with boba which I found super fun for this drink. For food we tried the calamari and 4 different rolls. I don't normally like fried calamari but from Blue I LOOOOVED it. It was crispy, tasty and also comes with veggies. All the rolls were delicious too. A friend suggested we try the cowgirl roll and surprisingly it was so good! Reminded me of a cheeseburger in sushi form, super fun! A fantastic dining experience in downtown Naperville. We came in with reservations, highly recommended on a Friday night as the wait was 1.5 hrs without. We were seated promptly and our service was great. We tried so much delicious food. Crispy brussel sprouts, spicy garlic edamame, miso soup and a ton of the vegan rolls. Our favorites so far have been the Thai Hippie, Eden Roll, and the Vegan Hot Popper. All of the rolls taste fresh and I love the creativity in the veg sushi menu. The tofu lettuce wraps were another one of our favorites. I've been three times now and the service has been great every single visit. Everyone's always friendly and quick, even when it's busy. The vibe is fun, the food comes out fast, and it's just an easy place to enjoy a good meal. If you're vegetarian or just like good sushi in general, this place is such a solid pick. There's no question, the sushi is excellent. The hot Rock is amazing. Pretty much everything we ate, no issues . My only concern is that if the sushi doesn't say it comes wrapped with soy paper it automatically comes wrapped with seaweed , as a fairly new person to sushi, this was something I was not aware of so when my sushi came with seaweed, the seaweed did not help with the flavor of my dish. In fact it took away from the flavor of the sushi . If you've never had the cucumber salad, it is worth ordering, it has a lot of flavor. As for the service, our server Tina K was impeccable . I'd recommend her for your server. The ambiance, very nicely designed, very clean. As for the bad, paying the bill, they bring over the machine, go over everything you ate and drank and present you with a bill total with the various sections for tip, 20%, 18%, etc. so far this is fine, then I asked Tina is the tip suggested $ amount based on the subtotal or the final total including credit card surcharge, state and local taxes and Naperville tax, all totaling $18.67 of my bill , the amount was based on the final bill, so I would be tipping on taxes and surcharges. i really like the atmosphere in here. can get a little backed up in the waiting area, not much space up front. but that's typical. been here a couple times. food is good. menu is extensive. happy hour rolls are good just think they could load more tuna in them, seem kinda skimpy on the fish compared to other places i go to. i really like some of the apps like the tofu and crab bags and crab rangoon. kids loved their bento boxes. a lot of japanese restaurants don't have chicken like that for the kids. the oranges were a nice touch and i like that they put cucumber in the water. the rolls that said side of eel sauce didn't come with the eel sauce so i had to ask is the only thing for me that was a little off really. cocktails are good but the happy hour is only sunday for those. read more

The best thing though was the happy hour, the prices were great and the roll sizes were plentiful. Today was the first day we went and checked out the new happy hour , it's now all day: open - 6:30pm. The prices dropped, but so did the portion size. The rolls are much thinner. Starting with the good first - the food was fresh and delicious. You could tell that the fish was a good quality. The main issue here was service. We sat 25 minutes before we got water, and that was after we had gotten an appetizer of edamame. We waited 40 minutes for our other appetizer and our actual dinner came out around the 55 minute mark. We had asked timing on the food, and our server was very dismissive. They did make a comment saying that they weren't expected to get this busy, but the restaurant was about 60% to 70% capacity at max. After our appetizer came out and we scarfed it down, they made a very strange remark, saying, "Sorry, I didn't know you were that hungry." Of course we're hungry - we came out to eat at a restaurant. (It wasn't a joking manner that they said it.) Overall, the vibe that we got from the server was so strange and uncanny, it took forever to get our food, and we left disappointed. The happy hour here it's really great! This is my 3rd or 4th time here. The menu is quite generous and so is the timeframe. I was there with my international student for his last supper before heading back home. We ordered several sushi rolls that our favorite was the lion King, did not like the salmon skin roll with the burdock. That was quite fibrous and unappealing to us:( The chard edamame was so good! Unfortunately, the ceviche was a miss. It tasted more like a seafood relish, Cucumbers, avocado, a mix of seafood and red and green bell peppers. There are no bell peppers in ceviche - it was so overpowering that you could not taste any acid and you could not taste the seafood. It actually ruined my palette for the rest of dinner. I would like to say that the bartender was very attentive and took great care of us. He was really great about pacing our food so that everything didn't end up on the table at one time since we were placed at the tiny two top directly next to the kitchen door. This was not really an enjoyable table, and it was so dark we had to use the flashlight on our phone to read the menu. My obsession. I'm surprised at myself I haven't left a review yet for Blue Sushi Saki Grill. This is my absolute favorite sushi place ever. The restaurant itself is beautiful. First off, if you're vegan, there is no other sushi restaurant in the state that will offer such flavorful and unique vegan rolls. My favorite vegan roll is the crunchy cabbage and the Shiitake to me roll. They are insanely delicious!!! Onto our visit yesterday - my husband and I always dine during their happy hour because it's such a great deal. I hadn't tried any of their non vegan rolls or nigiri yet and today that changed. I got the Itchy Salmon and Cherry Bomb for speciality nigiri and then the super asparagus for my maki roll. My husband ordered the crunchy blue, crunchy LA, and hot popper rolls. We split the chicken lettuce wraps and house salad. My husbands rolls were delicious!! The texture of the crunch with the crunchy blue and LA rolls was so pleasant. The flavors just popped! The hot popper was a pleasant surprise. It really took you on a flavor journey where every bite you tasted something new. when you were done eating a piece all the smokey flavors with a little spice came together and it was delicious. I enjoyed the super asparagus, but there's more exciting and flavorful rolls. The itchy salmon was very good, but it was over cooked a bit, the star, however, was the cherry bomb!!!!!! Omg. Hands down the best nigiri I've ever had!! Next time I come I will order a bunch of these since only 2 come in the order. The bigeye tuna just melted in my mouth! So velvety and delicious on top of the tempura rice for texture. Just YES!!!!!! The tiny bit of spice from the pepper and sriracha just brought this all together. The most delicious bite I've had to date at blue sushi Saki grill. Their chicken lettuce wraps are also delicious! The peanut sauce has so much flavor, and the additions of the sesame noodles, carrots, and cucumbers really make for a delicious wrap. It's so fresh and delicious. Came here for lunch with a coworker. Happily surprised it was happy hour too. It was pretty busy for a Sunday but scored a seat at the bar which was great since it's full service. We started off with edamame and a few rolls. I ordered the truffle salmon and crispy rice. He ordered the sake roll (salmon roll) and the tidal wave (salmon, shrimp tempura, and cream cheese). Recently came here! Going to a sushi restaurant is very rare for me but it was date night with the wife and I couldn't say no. We walked in and got a nice seat at the bar. Heads up if you're trying to get a table, there's possibly a really long wait. Great, beautiful and intimate dining atmosphere. Simple to check in. We were seated at the sushi bar and it is a fun experience. Our server Fern is amazing! She is so sweet. She gave me a couple of small samples of cold sake so I could decide which to order. I opted for the glass of Yoshinogawa Winter Warrior sake mmm dry and a bit of melon. The FOOD! Amazing! The cocktails were especially interesting, and we tried several different types... I had the Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita with a mezcal float first - it was pretty fiery, but I loved it. I downshifted for my second to the Ultra Margarita--salty, smoky, so good! My friends went wild for the Kokuto Whiskey, a blend of bourbon, Japanese black sugar, angosturra and orange. And the China Doll fit the bill for one who prefers a sweeter, lighter drink. But all were excellent! For appetizers, we had the happy hour charred edamame, crispy brussels sprouts, and mango crab Rangoon--crispy, light and yummy with a sweet mango sauce. One friend ordered the Beef Hot Rock, where they bring you a very hot stone to cook your own meat on at the table. She loved it! The food is awful. It's the worst sushi I've ever eaten. Grocery store sushi is better. Every roll has "crab mix". They don't have a dragon roll or any with unagi (eel). The first time (see pic) my spicy tuna roll only came with only cucumber in it, and only a thin line of tuna, this really stunk because I had DoorDashed it and couldn't send it back. Then I went in and ordered the same thing, asking them to please use just a little rice and the roll came to me with nothing but rice?! It was a big roll of rice with, again, a super thin line of tuna. I sent it back and the next roll they sent me the seaweed tasted like electrical tape, thick and chewy. It was awful. Sent it back again and told them I was done trying. The prices here are ridiculous too, way overpriced for terrible food. The only thing they have going for them really is the location and atmosphere. You can find WAY better sushi at Yamada Sushi and Poke. read more

Went to blue sushi grill with a friend for lunch today and had a great time! We were seated right away and the service was incredible. Right off the bat, they have TONS of vegan/vegetarian options which is amazing! Also lots of variety and options which I haven't seen a lot before! We tried a couple of things - jasmine tea, charred edamame, and 2 types of sushi. The tea was so warm and comforting and came in such a cute kettle! The charred edamame was such a surprise! It was crispy and flavorful and smoky!! Tasted even better when dipped in spicy mustard!! We got 2 sushi rolls - up in town and Thai hippie! The Thai hippie had tofu with a bunch of veggies and it was drenched in peanut sauce. I'm not a fan of peanut sauce so it was a little overwhelming for me. But if you love peanuts, this will be your jam!! The up in smoke was also vegan with cream cheese, avocados, and Jalapeños! It was definitely my favorite out of the two!!
