i really like the atmosphere in here. can get a little backed up in the waiting area, not much space up front. but that's typical. been here a couple times. food is good. menu is extensive. happy hour rolls are good just think they could load more tuna in them, seem kinda skimpy on the fish compared to other places i go to. i really like some of the apps like the tofu and crab bags and crab rangoon. kids loved their bento boxes. a lot of japanese restaurants don't have chicken like that for the kids. the oranges were a nice touch and i like that they put cucumber in the water. the rolls that said side of eel sauce didn't come with the eel sauce so i had to ask is the only thing for me that was a little off really. cocktails are good but the happy hour is only sunday for those.

Two different sushi rolls and four hand rolls.

Family and I went here during lunch on a weekend. We were seated quickly and the food/service and ambiance were amazing. They have an excellent selection of rolls and the presentation is impeccable.

Wanted to try a new place for sushi. I do have a few favorites, but always willing to try new options! Sushi was fresh. Nice options. A bit pricey but pretty good. Not necessarily one of my favs, but I enjoyed trying new flavors!

Great ambiance and drinks! Service was excellent. the food was quite amazing and well flavored. Coming from CA I didn't expect the fish would be fresh but it was. I'd go back!

The happy hour here it's really great! This is my 3rd or 4th time here. The menu is quite generous and so is the timeframe. I was there with my international student for his last supper before heading back home. We ordered several sushi rolls that our favorite was the lion King, did not like the salmon skin roll with the burdock. That was quite fibrous and unappealing to us:( The chard edamame was so good! Unfortunately, the ceviche was a miss. It tasted more like a seafood relish, Cucumbers, avocado, a mix of seafood and red and green bell peppers. There are no bell peppers in ceviche - it was so overpowering that you could not taste any acid and you could not taste the seafood. It actually ruined my palette for the rest of dinner. I would like to say that the bartender was very attentive and took great care of us. He was really great about pacing our food so that everything didn't end up on the table at one time since we were placed at the tiny two top directly next to the kitchen door. This was not really an enjoyable table, and it was so dark we had to use the flashlight on our phone to read the menu. The bartender did his best to make sure that we were happy and it was greatly appreciated.

My obsession. I'm surprised at myself I haven't left a review yet for Blue Sushi Saki Grill. This is my absolute favorite sushi place ever. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Very modern and warm feeling and beautiful views outside of the river walk. Service is always fantastic! The main event, their food. My goodness. First off, if you're vegan, there is no other sushi restaurant in the state that will offer such flavorful and unique vegan rolls. My favorite vegan roll is the crunchy cabbage and the Shiitake to me roll. They are insanely delicious!!! Onto our visit yesterday - my husband and I always dine during their happy hour because it's such a great deal. I hadn't tried any of their non vegan rolls or nigiri yet and today that changed. I got the Itchy Salmon and Cherry Bomb for speciality nigiri and then the super asparagus for my maki roll. My husband ordered the crunchy blue, crunchy LA, and hot popper rolls. We split the chicken lettuce wraps and house salad. My husbands rolls were delicious!! The texture of the crunch with the crunchy blue and LA rolls was so pleasant. The flavors just popped! The hot popper was a pleasant surprise. It really took you on a flavor journey where every bite you tasted something new. when you were done eating a piece all the smokey flavors with a little spice came together and it was delicious. I enjoyed the super asparagus, but there's more exciting and flavorful rolls. The itchy salmon was very good, but it was over cooked a bit, the star, however, was the cherry bomb!!!!!! Omg. Hands down the best nigiri I've ever had!! Next time I come I will order a bunch of these since only 2 come in the order. The bigeye tuna just melted in my mouth! So velvety and delicious on top of the tempura rice for texture. Just YES!!!!!! The tiny bit of spice from the pepper and sriracha just brought this all together. The most delicious bite I've had to date at blue sushi Saki grill. Their chicken lettuce wraps are also delicious! The peanut sauce has so much flavor, and the additions of the sesame noodles, carrots, and cucumbers really make for a delicious wrap. It's so fresh and delicious. If you haven't tried this place, you're doing yourself a disservice. Oh and try their brussel sprouts! They are mouthwatering delicious!

Stopped here to celebrate my 30th Birthday today with my sister! The restaurant has a Beautiful Ambiance with lots of room to accommodate guests - inside & outdoor seating. We were immediately seated and attended to by our waitress who was super nice and took our order very quickly. For our appetizer we tried the Mango Crab Rangoons which tasted superb! We ordered a total of three sushi rolls - Lion King, Spicy Gringo, & Spanish Fly which were delicious. I definitely recommend Blue Sushi Sake Grill to all Sushi lovers in downtown Naperville :)

Went out of my way due to a 30% off vegan sushi special. It was definitely worth the trip. The service was good as well. I will be back to try their nonvegan fare.

We had a wonderful dinner at Blue Sushi last night with 5 friends, one a guest at the nearby Hotel Indigo. Our waiter Colin was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The cocktails were especially interesting, and we tried several different types... I had the Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita with a mezcal float first - it was pretty fiery, but I loved it. I downshifted for my second to the Ultra Margarita--salty, smoky, so good! My friends went wild for the Kokuto Whiskey, a blend of bourbon, Japanese black sugar, angosturra and orange. And the China Doll fit the bill for one who prefers a sweeter, lighter drink. But all were excellent! For appetizers, we had the happy hour charred edamame, crispy brussels sprouts, and mango crab Rangoon--crispy, light and yummy with a sweet mango sauce. One friend ordered the Beef Hot Rock, where they bring you a very hot stone to cook your own meat on at the table. She loved it! Other fan favorites were the Cloud Nine sushi, and especially the Tidal Wave roll--so popular we re-ordered it twice. The ambiance was warm, buzzy, full of diners but not jammed to the gills. I'd definitely go back and highly recommend!

I popped in for a "snack" so I sat at the bar and had the pleasure of having Cam wait on me. Nice guy and just the perfect amount of attentiveness! Sunday is all day Happy Hour but I showed some restraint. The crispy rice was my favorite as was the roja (or was it roho). I'll definitely stop in again if I'm in the area.

When you're in downtown Naperville make sure to walk over to Water Street. There you will find Blue Sushi Sake Grill. Make a reservation first however because you will definitely need one. If you have to wait though there's plenty to see and do in this cozy what I would call a courtyard where you can see the Riverwalk below and just people watch. Blue Sushi has an extensive sushi menu including some Naperville specialities. The drink menu is an absolute must with an assortment of amazing drinks. The service is great being led by a general manager who is knowledge, friendly and takes time to make you feel welcomed. Blue Sushi Sake Grill is the place to be, with a reservation.

Birthday dinner and first time here. I am super impressed with the professionalism of the staff and the ambiance of the restaurant. Was able to get a reservation the day before via Open Table. Simple to check in. We were seated at the sushi bar and it is a fun experience. Our server Fern is amazing! She is so sweet. She gave me a couple of small samples of cold sake so I could decide which to order. I opted for the glass of Yoshinogawa Winter Warrior sake mmm dry and a bit of melon. The FOOD! Amazing! The mango crab Rangoon ooooo! Crispy and fruity. Everything is so fresh and delicious. I love the Dutch yellowtail nigiri. The black roe was awesome. The Godzilla roll was very interesting and so was the green eggs and Hama. Our server Fern was so attentive and her manager came over to make some recommendations on the Sauvignon blanc. Love this place and definitely coming back!

Altavida's concepts for the three levels are Publico, Rumba, and Altura. Publico (1st Flr)- A South American fusion of food and drinks that will be rotating. The cocktails will be more tequila and mezcal based and food will be subtly rotated based on trends happening in South America. The food menu currently offers tapas, empanadas, ceviche, guacamoles, larger format meat/seafood entrees, and more. They will have a front of our bar as well as a back bar that will specialize in more coffees/coffee cocktails. Rumba (2nd Flr)- The entertainment floor! There is a separate bar on this floor that will specialize in more Rum based cocktails. Additionally, they will have a wine bar area with wines in tap. Lastly, they will have an open area for live music as well as dancing. Their hope is to have a mix of jazz, club music, salsa dancing options available. Altura (3rd Flr)- This floor is still under construction but will have a rooftop patio. The hope is that this space will be an event space both for public and private events. Back to my experience! My partner and I stopped in for a cocktail and to see what Altavida was about. Our first bartender was very nice but was still getting used to the drink recipes and was leaning on their cheat sheets. While we waited, another bartender kindly told us all about the restaurant and its focus on hospitality. Unfortunately, each bartender had a slightly different explanation of the restaurant's goal concepts which was confusing. We ended up ordering the El Toro and Vaquero (both mezcal drinks). Both were VERY spirit forward to the point that it may have needed better balance. Both drinks had a nice presentation with garnishes, color, and a skull feature at the bottom of the glass. Lastly, we saw many people walk up and look confused as there was no formal host stand. They didn't know if they should seat themselves or wait for someone. Overall, there still seems to be some kinks needing to be worked out as well as some conceptual editing. I feel they are trying to achieve too much and it ends up being confusing for staff and guests. I hope with time, Altavida is extremely successful in the Naperville area and I hope to circle back after some time passes.

I loved the modern decor and lively music being played. The place is truly colorful and has a very energetic vibe. The service was excellent. Everyone was extremely kind and happy to help. Edwin, the general manager was so friendly and accommodating by making sure that everything was to our liking. He is a gem. My husband and I ordered a few different tapas to share. We started with the empanadas and they were truly 10/10, highly recommend! We had the beef and chicken with the chimichurri sauce. We also tried the papas bravas and those were delicious as well. They are spicy and have a nice kick. The portion is pretty big and shareable. Last, we had chicken en mole. Omg, so good! They knocked it out of the park with this one. The presentation is very pleasing and the flavor is 10/10! I'm a hot sauce girly and even carry it in my bag just in case. The sauce they had in the dish was so good that I didn't even think about adding hot sauce! The rice and chicken along with the sauce is chef's kiss. I also tried the Brussels sprouts but they were my least favorite of everything. They should go back to the drawing board on that one. The drinks we had were solid. My husband had an espresso martini and dragonfruit margarita, while I had a mango margarita. All were good. Needless to say, I had an amazing evening at Altavida! The dancing on the second floor was also very fun and entertaining. I will definitely be a regular here!

We figured it would have been the perfect way to top off our evening. For first-timers it might be hard trying to find the speakeasy since at first I thought you had to access it from the Busy Street and walk up three flights of stairs. Actually you just walk inside of the Embers building, find the elevator that's kind of hidden and take it to the Third floor. I thought that the little trip up felt exclusive already. Once you're at the third floor you are treated to a beautiful array of scenery. Exit to your left and you were treated to the bar and some great tables with a cozy, intimate setting. I'm not sure if it was open seating since there was a little podium right off the elevator so we just sat ourselves. Some speakeasies require a certain dress code to keep up with the times. This one thankfully was casual though many people dressed business casual. We actually loved how the staff dressed as well. I have to try their Japanese sex drink and I absolutely loved every ship that I took. The drinks are fairly price. They did have a food menu but it was mainly snacks and small plates that were a bit overpriced. If we're having a large Gathering they have a big private room next door. This place does have a lot of great events going on as well with their upcoming Valentine's Day event that looks really interesting. The venue was very nice at the top of a hotel with a very nice view of Naperville and the Riverwalk. Let's start with my favorite dishes. We did get the skirt steak and branzino. The skirt steak was a little bit overcooked to my liking. The Branzino was perfectly cooked and crispy but the portion was small.. I was waiting patiently to be served - not saying a word - and finally he came by me and raised his voice to me in a disrespectful tone saying that he is not serving me because he came by me twice and I wasn't paying attention. So, I waved to the other bartender who was female and she politely served me. I also found out that same male bartender kicked out two other friends of my friend I was with for no reason. Plus, when I reconciled my receipts the next day, I discovered that in my "not paying attention," they handed me two other receipts to sign which totaled about $80.00. (At the time, I thought maybe they were just helping each other out with ringing my order up) There's NO way I ordered that much, because it was SO crowded, I couldn't get served more than once, so that's why we left. So, basically I was robbed $80.00, because I wasn't "paying attention." Both receipts say "Potter's Place," even though we were upstairs at Two-Nine, and that's what it says on my credit card statement. Potter's Place was closed downstairs. I have one receipt that makes sense to what I normally order that says "Two-Nine". So on my credit card statement, I have one charge that says "Two-Nine," then two that say "Potter's Place." They scammed me. NEVER again.
