    (1) Tokyo Tonkotsu Shouyu Ramen

My husband and I stopped in for an early dinner on a Friday and we enjoyed our time here. This is a lot smaller than I was expecting but it's still pretty big. I think it can seat up to 60ish people. There's a private area where the table is completely closed off. It makes it a very cozy experience and is great for introverts. Yup, we sat there. Service throughout was great. There's a call button in the private rooms which makes it nice. I like this feature, we didn't have anyone constantly checking in. We could eat peacefully and used the call button when needed. We went with combo B which comes with a chicken karage app, 2 ramens (tonkatsu and miso), and 2 desserts (matcha pudding and lychee jelly). Everything was so tasty. The broth of each ramen was piping hot and full of flavor. It's hard to pick which 1 I prefer over the other. I would order the exact same items next time.

Little did I know that Kyuramen was a chain across the country. There are over 20 of these establishments throughout the United States. I stumbled upon this place as I was looking for some good ramen with a cool vibe. What caught my eye when deciding on a place to go with my friends was the ambiance. The ambiance at this relatively new location is beautiful-- the artwork is nice-- there is a wooden wishing tree, and individual wooden booths upstairs and downstairs that look like honeycombs. Beyond this cool tables in the honeycomb booths, there are a handful of standard tables in the middle of the room. Plus, individual rooms for parties which I believe you need to take your shoes off for. So how was the ramen? As they have so many locations, I assume that they have perfected their ramen. This is definitely a location to visit if you like pork, which is their specialty. I prefer to get Ramen with tofu and a spicey broth. I learned quickly that the restaurant will not adapt the menu items at all-- they will only add things, but they will not replace one protein with another. This left a sour taste in my mouth. As a person who does not want meat, cannot get a spicy broth with their soup if wanted tofu. The broths for tofu are all blah. So if you are vegetarian, please take a look at the menu to see if this meets your needs. At other ramen places you can pick your broth and your protein. Given the inability to modify menu items to fit my needs, I probably would not visit this chain again.

The ramen was really good. Even the people who were leary thought it was good! No alcohol is served, probably due to the stairs and elevated platforms, lol. Servers were attentive. Decor is really cool. Give it a try, you will be happily surprised at the deliciousness.

We came to try Kyuramen for the ramen...but mostly because the interior looked super cool! We came on a Saturday night during prime time. It was a struggle to fine a parking spot since there were so many restaurants in the same area but we managed to snag one a short walk from the restaurant. They don't take reservations but the line moves quickly. We had 11 groups before us and only waited 20 minutes for a table. We ended up in the best seats in the house - the honeycomb booth at the top of the stairs. I'm not sure if all the tables are like this, but for us we had a button where we signaled to our waitress when we were ready to order, needed refills, or wanted our check. The food was great! I tried the yinyang bowl which is one of their more popular ramens according to our waitress. It was a a bowl divided in half (half sapporo miso ramen and half tonkotsu shoyu ramen). The sapporo miso was a bit too spicy for me but I enjoyed the tonkostsu shoyu.

Charming ambiance, charming and authentic decor so fresh and welcoming. Great little booths! Everyone was so helpful and attentive throughout dinner. The Ramens weee outstanding ... the spicy wasn't that hot so we added in dried pepper powders ! You will love this place!

The ultimate date night spot--worth the wait! My date and I checked this place out on a Friday night, just a week after they opened, and honestly, the vibe is incredible. The decor is so well put together, but the standout is definitely the honeycomb seating. It's such a unique, private setup that makes it feel like the perfect spot for a date. The Wait Just a heads-up: they don't do reservations yet. You have to put your name on a tablet when you arrive. We waited about an hour, but between the atmosphere and the food, it was 100% worth it. Plus, the service was phenomenal the whole time--very attentive despite how busy they were. The Drinks We started with some teas and they did not disappoint. My date got the Matcha Tea and said it tasted just as good as the stuff we've had in Japan. I tried the Thai Iced Tea, and I really appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet--you could actually taste the tea. The Food We definitely over-ordered on appetizers, but I have no regrets. Chili Garlic Edamame: This literally blew my mind. So much flavor. Steamed Pork Bao Bun: Super soft, savory, and a must-order. For the mains, I had the Kyushu Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, which was so flavorful and had just the right amount of kick. She went with the Yinyang Bowl (B), and we both left beyond satisfied. If you're looking for a new spot that actually lives up to the hype, this is it. We'll definitely be back!

Kyuramen is a national ramen restaurant chain that offers a pleasant experience that has cool Japanese design and decor with good food and service. I was excited to finally have a place that made omurice and I was not disappointed. The presentation is fun and the flavors are all there in the fried rice, gravy, and that silly egg. Do not skip this dish if you've never had it before. The ramen was adequate but nothing to write home about. I tried the tonkatsu. I wish the broth was a little hotter in temperature, but the noodles are springy and the broth isn't over developed and salty. Quantity was just right. The real treat was in the combos. There are a number of different combos (classic and supreme) that come with an appetizer, drink, main dish, and dessert. The matcha pudding with red beans and cherry blossom jelly are the perfect complement to all the dishes here. The dessert spoons are also cute and dainty.

We were seated right away in the private area, which I really appreciated. I prefer not being in the main dining room since the tables there feel a little too close together. The extra privacy was nice, though if you're someone who loves sitting by windows, this section might feel a bit tight. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The seasoning was spot on, and nothing felt greasy. Our server, Santiago, was incredibly helpful and answered all our questions. We'll definitely be coming back to try more of their appetizers.

Perfect Ramen for this cold winter! Finally, got the chance to get a table. We tried few weeks back, and it was packed! I know now why... Interior is so cute, beehive design and fun! Appetizer: Japanese French Fries is interesting, topped with kewpie mayo, the sauce taste like okonomiyaki sauce and some bonito flakes Ramen: I had the Katsuboshi Pork Ramen - the broth is thick and tasty. The noodles are just right. Husband had the Spicy Kyushu Tonkotsu Ramen - he liked the level of spice and the thicker broth. We enjoyed our dining experience. The servers are attentive and the service is fast. The place is small, one reason it gets packed easily. I recommend coming here on a dead hour to avoid the crowd and wait in line.

I really enjoyed my experience here and can't wait to go back. I absolutely loved my curry ramen. Japanese curry would be my last meal on earth and their curry ramen lived up to my obsession My daughter thought her kimchi ramen was just okay though. She liked it. But the kimchi was really sweet. I tried it and she wasn't wrong. It was very sugary compared to any kimchi we've had before. The takoyaki was fantastic. In some restaurants, you only get mushy balls, but these had tentacles in them. Good pieces of octopus. We both really liked them Service was very timely and the restaurant itself was verrrry cute. I can't emphasize that enough. It's probably the nicest ramen place I've ever been to. A great family spot or great date spot. This is an easy recommendation

Went to Kyuramen with a group of four on a weekend and had a great experience. We had a reservation and were seated at a private table with a curtain, which was really nice. There was a button on the wall to call the server and to request the bill. They also had condiments available on the tables. I ordered the black garlic Tokyo Tonkatsu Shoyu, and it's probably my new favorite ramen in the area. The broth was rich and creamy but not too oily. The noodles were chewy and soft. The flavor of the ramen was just perfect for my taste. The service was excellent. Everything was fast, but not rushed. I will definitely be back!

    Honey comb style seating

I came here for dinner on Thursday. I knew it wasn't an authentic Japanese ramen shop, but I was curious to see how it compared. As a Japanese person who loves ramen, I usually avoid non‑Japanese ramen places, and it's hard to find truly authentic Japanese food in DuPage. I also don't enjoy driving all the way to Schaumburg or Arlington Heights, so having a decent ramen shop within 20 minutes would be wonderful. The restaurant was clean and neatly arranged, though the layout was definitely not Japanese. The honeycomb-style seating is unique, but a bit visually busy for Japanese sensibilities. Not bad -- just not my preference. Service was quick and friendly, though a little hard to hear at times. As someone who understands the challenge of speaking English as a second language, I could tell they were trying their best. We both ordered the miso ramen, choosing our spice levels -- mine mild, my daughter's non-spicy. I also ordered negima and pork belly. The food arrived quickly. My daughter's ramen wasn't bad, but the miso flavor was very light. Sapporo-style miso ramen usually has a much deeper miso richness, and this tasted somewhere between miso soup and miso ramen. My mild spicy miso ramen had a strong red spice aroma, almost like clove. It seemed like they used mala paste or mala sauce for heat, which gives it more of a Chinese flavor profile than Japanese. The noodles were very thin -- good for tonkotsu, but miso ramen typically uses thicker noodles. I didn't dislike the ramen, but if you call it ramen, it should taste like ramen. I enjoy Chinese noodles too, and honestly, the flavors here would work better as authentic Chinese noodle dishes rather than Japanese ramen. The negima and pork belly were okay. The green onion on the negima looked like it had been cooked earlier and reheated before serving. Not terrible, but I prefer freshly grilled yakitori. Would I come back? If friends or my kids wanted to try it, yes. Would I return specifically for the ramen? Maybe -- maybe not.
